Kael crowd control.
Since giants and dragons cannot be mezzed, I offer this suggestion based on what I saw the last Kael Raid:

root / mem wipe.

Yes, I know they summon. But if the person rooting send chanter a tell, it could work like this:

The rooter runs the mob out of aggro range from entire camp
begins casting root, while chanter mem wipes. chanter / rooter backup slowly while repeating until it's off the hate list and forgets about us.

I would think a healer would need to keep an eye on the "add team"

This is assuming that there are too many to charm / tank (as was case last night)

Also, I will now never use my pet unless it's against greens. It prevented me from charming last Kael raid. :(

Re: Kael crowd control.
Kael is usually a single-pull snooze fest. I usually practice my throwing skill with knives to get my faction hits. :p

Root-blur should work, but you'd have to have a cleric in your group that was your dedicated healer. Also, sometimes tanks can off-tank more efficiently than we can do crowd control. I've eaten several deaths because I tried to ae mez in Seb. when it wasn't really necessary.

I guess I just can't stand to see a mob beating on people, even if it's their job. LOL.

Charm usually works best, and like you, I never have a pet up in Kael.
