Laptop/Drivers Question
For some reason my Laptop wont install the new GeForce drivers. It currently has 3.2.2.0 drivers from November of 2003... and I've been trying to put the 5.6.6.0 drivers on so I can 4box again.
I've tried going through the set-up... and it'll run the setup and say it installed them successfully, but when you go to device manager etc it still says 3.2.2.0 servers are in use.
I've tried to "uninstall" the drivers, but that doesn't work either. It'll say it uninstalls them, but then when I reboot it'll find the GFX card, with those drivers again (3.2.2.0). I could try it manually, but I'm trying to avoid completely screwed over my laptop. Well.. my mother's laptop.
Any help, suggestions, or personal experiences you could share would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Laptop/Drivers Question
I never run the setup program. It's a self-extracting archive. If you have Winzip installed, you can just right-click and extract all the files to a folder. Then go into Device Manager (run devmgmt.msc), choose to update the driver, and then pick the option to choose the driver from a specific location (the folder you just extracted the Nvidia file to). You may have to "force" it, as Windows sometimes thinks the older one is a better match for your hardware and won't automagically use the new one.
Re: Laptop/Drivers Question
the unified driver from nvidia doesnt support the geforce go's,
i found out trying to get it onto my laptop. You need to get it from the laptop manufactorer :/

Re: Laptop/Drivers Question
Go to www.laptopvideo2go.com for a new inf to use to install the nvidia drivers for a majority of laptops. Can also try and put
HardwareTnL=FALSE
into your eqclient.ini file to get EQ to work with the 3.x (maybe works) and 4.x (does work) drivers.
