Learn Self-Restraint
The Holy Qur'an tells us, "O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint --" Qur'an 2:183 We should focus on the last phrase, "That ye may (learn) self-restraint". Restraining ourselves and learning how to control our desires is the cornerstone of Ramadan. It is commonly known that to change a given habit takes perhaps 30-days of concentrated effort to "reprogram" ourselves. Try to focus on a specific habit you would like to change during this fasting month and commit to change. It will happen with Allah's blessing. Your thoughts?
