Llyr Carrow (fixed)
Name: Llyr Carrow.

Age: 16.

Grade: 10th.

Appearance:

www.sho.com/site/deadlike...callum.jpg

And an anime-ish picture: www.advancedanime.com/dis...pid=111787

Llyr is very tall - about 6’4”, possibly a tiny bit less. He has well-defined muscles and a full six-pack, but is far from bulky, being lean and a little bit lanky, in fact. His hair is dark brown and constantly messy, despite any attempts to comb it, and is usually kept relatively short. It often stands up in wayward tufts and refuses to lie flat. His eyes are mismatched - one slate grey and one dark green, and typically have a twinkle in them. He has slightly tanned skin and slightly sharper, more angular features than most.

He almost always has a small, wry smile, with the exception of when he’s sad or extremely angry. His posture is relatively casual, with his hands tucked into his pockets a lot of the time, unless he’s talking, when he usually makes large gestures. He mostly sticks to quite form-fitting tee shirts or sleeveless shirts and jeans as an attire. If it’s cold, though, he may also wear a jumper, a long coat or a scarf. He speaks with a thick Scottish accent.

Personality: Llyr could be summed up in the words ‘easy-going’ ‘good-humoured’ and ‘sarcastic.’ He’s a joker, even in the most dire of situations, and one thing he loves is to see people laugh and be happy. The constant humour can get irritating at times, but Lir tries to be careful not to make anybody of a more sensitive disposition upset. He’s occasionally a prankster, though he causes very little real trouble. He’s nearly completely honest and an incorrigable flirt, and has an unfortunate tendancy to mess up his own life.

He is liberal and open-minded, and always willing to encourage other people, but believes himself to be a constant failure. He’s an artist, and some of his paintings and sculptures are a bit dark, in an ironic sort of way.

He has kleptomanic tendancies and is prone to bottling negative emotions up, which can lead to outbursts at the worst times, brought on by minor things.

Special Power: The Chord: Embedded in his left wrist, Llyr has a piece of bronze marked ‘Chord’ in scratchy writing. When he activates it (with a mental command) it channels his negative emotions into a stream of what looks like fire and can cause burning or throw somebody back. When it does this, it gives off a sound that at first sounds like beautiful singing, but turns into bestial screaming the longer it is used, and when it’s being used, Lir’s eyes glow silver (for the grey one) and amber (for the green one).

If Llyr uses it for two long (ie: five minutes or so at a time) or uses it repeatedly in a short space of time, he risks becoming ChordLlyr, who is basically Llyr with all his good traits gone and all his bad traits amplified, but can’t use his powers. When this happens, Llyr’s eyes will stay silver and orange, and it will normally last a day or two before wearing off.

Energy: Llyr needs only one or two hours of sleep every day, unless he does straining and exhausting physical activity. This shows in his aura as bright, white sparks.

History: Llyr was born and raised on a farm in Scotland, one part of a set of triplets. The farm was fairly large, and like his six brothers (two of them his triplet brothers, two of them older and two of them younger) and four sisters (one older, three younger) was expected to work. He worked hard and well, and got along with his family relatively well. Life was difficult, but they got by in relative contentment, though Llyr was always something of a misfit amongst his family.

When he was fourteen, however, he wandered too far into the woods and something took him. He doesn’t remember much of the next few days - sounds but no speaking, mud and wood, struggling, pain all over his body and a sharp burning in his wrist and fire. He was found wandering a few days later, with the Chord metal in his wrist.

In reality, what had happened was that he was captured by the former - and dying - owner of the Chord and a group of cultists dedicated to the worship of the Chord. The metal, which can be removed and embedded into somebody else when the owner is less than seven days from death, was transferred from the former owner to Llyr. Following this, the cultists attempted to train Llyr, using beatings and pain as punishment, until after a day Llyr turned on them and used the Chord to destroy a good two thirds of them. The overuse of the Chord ended with him manifesting as ChordLlyr and killing the rest with his bare hands. He escaped and wandered through the forest, dazed and confused.

Despite their attempts, it could not be removed. He was sent away to his grandfather, an expert on the supernatural and became a subject of study for him, in his tall and somewhat odd tower in the north. The north of where, Llyr wasn't exactly sure. The tower was prone to changing while Llyr slept and he often found himself walking upside down for reasons he could not fathom. Between that and his somewhat eccentric grandfather, he learned to be adaptable.

Two years later, his grandfather, for reasons of being able to find no way to remove or suppress the Chord, sent him away to the high school to learn better control and be around people with powers.

EXAMPLE ROLE-PLAYING POST:

Mud. Fire. Screeching?

The alarm clock screamed, shuddering and nearly shattering the bedside table with the force of it’s movement. With a flick of his hand, Llyr sent it flying away, crawling out of bed and checking the time on it. Six’o’clock. He was an hour late.

Pulling on a pair of jeans with one hand and a shirt with the other, Llyr sprinted (and at times, hopped) from the room, heading up the long, winding staircases that filled his grandfather’s mansion. Up, up to the highest level in the highest tower, with a stream of curses flowing from his lips right up till he reached the door.

Llyr found his grandfather in the study, as he always did. The old man was bent over a table of bubbling liquid metals, his hands moving across a variety of instruments faster than Llyr could follow.

“Ah, Llyr,” His grandfather called over the sound of bubbling and whirring, waving with his mechanical hand. “Here for your chores today?”

Llyr didn’t have time to answer before he continued.

“No chores today, my boy. There’s a train coming into the station nearby, I’d like you to get on it.”

“Gra - ...”

“Don’t say anything. I’m sending you to a new school. You’ll get along well there, I think, it’s very prestigious. Your train leaves at ten.”

Re: Lir Carrow
Love the power! I was thinking of making a bard like character too. Anyways, your history is too short. As I've said many a time, just because your character doesn't know what happened, doesn't mean the player doesn't. Expand on your history and give it some detail!

Most people think time is like a river that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I really am, and why I say this. Come, and I will tell you a tale like none you have ever heard. -The King of Persia

Re: Lir Carrow
Okay, expanded the history to cover what happened in the forest during the missing days (and added more detail on his life on the farm, his life with his grandfather and why he was sent to the high school), and also changed his name from Lir to Llyr and added an extra line to the second power, basically says that the extra energy he has shows up in his aura as white sparks.

No, it's a stream of heat/concussive energy. Basically, it's just a stream of energy that comes from his wrist capable of throwing people back/burning them slightly.

If you're asking where it is in the application, it's in the description - specifically it says it can burn, which suggests either extreme heat or extreme cold (and it gives off the former.)

My work here is done...Go go MODing powers!

*flies off to go review something else*

"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Well, I still say not thinking is the best way to think!" -Alex Summers, thinking about thinking

Yep, that's it. I can always change the burning, if you like.

Also, just a note: I edited it just now, but only to put the URL for another picture into the description field.
