LoY poisons and fishing
Ok, I've spent a few hours here and there in gunthak with my Brell's fishin' pole and ~180 fishing skill looking for jellyfish.
In the course of the two hours i did back to back there, i drudged up 5 jellyfish. (on top of that, i botched one combine, so no 5-shot =P)
Is there anyplace in specific i should be fishing? on the far shore on the beach with all the undead, i didn't fish up anything but gunthak gourami and moray eels, i fished the jellyfish (amongst a host of sandals and daggers) right off of the lighthouse island.
Am i fishing in the wrong place? Is the fish rate just miserable? I'm no newb fisher, so I'd like to think its not a matter of skill.

From skill 10 to skill 80, i fished up about 11 jellyfish.
I'm sitting up on the rocks next to the lighthouse island.
I fished up some Anemone in Dulak pretty quick though... I've not had the chance to try for Blowfish spikes in Torgarian yet though.

the blowfish is fine. I ran out to Torg a few weeks prior (not that I actually used the slow all that much), and fished up 7 in about a half-hour's time.

Nematocyst poison, a (yourlevel)+10 DD old world combine that can be multicharged.

How is the nematocyst poison from the jellyfish used? Is it applied and one shot like old world poisons? Or is it like the advanced poisons where it is applied and procs over a short time? And although making it trivials at 159, what apply skill, if any, is required to use it? Or what level must one be to use it?

The nematocyst works like the PoP poisons. Clicking it produces a proc buff and does not use the Apply skill. My level 45 rogue procs a 55 pt dd from it.

as a note, its a crazy mix of both old and new poisons. You make it much the way you would old world - 2 jellyfish + constrict + lined, but you can 5- and 10- shot it with a GMAS (or have a friend do it). Unlike the PoP poisons, though, you don't get the vials back.

i fished the rocks near the lighthouse with a druid friend for about hour and a half and got 18 jellyfish...well i got 5 and she got all the rest ...my fishing skill started at 3 and went to 52 and hers went from 70 to around 90..so i think skill is needed for this item...and its a poison you can zone with..and in ldon it lasts me about 15-30min. i like to use alot of calciom rot as well in bb adv..i leave a bag open and on left side of screen full of poisons and keep 2 slots open..1 for poison and 1 for a 2nd piercing weapon...that way i always have one with poison

FYI: Was PLing my boyfrined's Shammy with an alt of mine and while he fought I fished, then healed, then fished. I was on the beach right next to the cliff (from the lighthouse it's on the right). My fishing skill is 200, and I caught about 70-80 in the hour. I've heard it's all random, where you stand and all so maybe I just got lucky : ).
so its actually pretty nice since you don't need 2 of them...
failure returns nothing though... no vial.
