Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

Looking for something (Yakoutio - rated M for drug use)
Hawthorne was already bored at the school. There just wasn't much to do in the way of diverting oneself, at least that she could find. So she made her way to the school library. Perhaps she didn't look like much of a bookworm, with her band tees and pierced face, but it was better than nothing.
She wandered through the stacks, occasionally picking a title off a shelf, before returning it to the place she removed it from. Her long black hair fell over her face, obscuring much of it from sight. She was bored, and kinda lonely. Maybe she should have stayed in her room.

Datu was at another desk, not too far from where Hawthorne was, reading a book. On the cover, it said, 'The Odyssey'. He was always fascinated by mythology (though they are actually real), and loved to read books about them. On the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Hawthorne, the girl he helped to her dorm the other day. He put down his book, and looked towards her direction, and sure enough, it was Hawthorne.
He got up, and walked towards her, his book still in his hand. He then looked at her, then at the shelves of books.

Hawthorne was startled for a moment by the interruption, and had to recollect her thoughts. She knew the boy from the other day, what was his name? Ah! Right!
"Hello Datu. I've never seen this many books before."
It was a true statement, the reserve wasn't well known for the ready availability of resources. She really couldn't decide what she wanted.
"Do you have any suggestions, you look quite at home here."

He looked at her, then back at the books.
"Well, fantasy books always fascinate me. I also like reading science fiction." He looked around at the books on each shelf, then back at Hawthorne.

Hawthorne gave a half smile and shrugged.
"I'm not really sure anymore, it's been so long since I picked up a book . . . "
Not just for pleasure either, it had been awhile since Hawthorne had picked up a school book either. She thought back to when she was younger, before him, when she still had some fun and enjoyment in her life. There had been some interesting books she had read, when you ignored the brief period of gothic romance novellas. That wasn't reading, it was like TV, but worse.
"I think I used to read a lot of fantasy, the darker stuff though. I enjoyed Michael Moorcock when I was young."
She used to read the stories of the eternal champion to her younger sister, though the work was perhaps a little advanced for their respective ages.

Rad stumbled through the door of the library, her arms full of many different items. Notebook paper was spilling out of her two textbooks and a thick notebook rested between the textbooks and several library books. The girl sighed softly, attempting to toss her red hair out of her face, which she failed to do. She moved her left shoulder slightly because it was becoming sore underneath her black shoulder bag.
Realizing that she needed to drop everything she had in her arms in order to be comfortable again, she shifted the weight in her arms and headed to the closest desk she could see. She bent closer to the desk, trying to set the load down quietly, but in the end, she lost her grip on the bottom textbook, causing all of her items to crash on to the desk. A few library books slid off the desk to the floor; all in all she had made a fairly loud commotion. She ran a hand through her hair and glance up, noticing two other students.
"Sorry!" She said in a loud whisper and gave a small apologetic wave.

Hawthorne jumped, startled by the sudden sound in the library. She turned towards it, to see a red-haired girl apologizing, and waving. Trying to be friendly, which wasn't the usual for her, awthorne waved back. and walked over.
"Don't worry about it, you just scared me a little bit."
She shrugged, trying to pass it off with a sardonic smile.
"I'm kinda jumpy though, so it doesn't take much."
Hawthorne examined the pile of papers and text books that the girl had droped onto the desk, and then she bent to pick the library books up off of the floor, placing them neatly on the desk beside the girl's things.
"Getting a head start on the coursework?"

Rad dropped her wave when the girl across the library waved back and begin to walk over. She didn't mean to make her jump so suddenly; Rad silently cursed herself for being so clumsy. She smiled as the girl halted in front of her and told her not to worry, yet, she still felt stupid.
Rad was about to apologize again when the girl bent over and picked up her library books; she smiled, this would have to be the first person to help her since she arrived.
"Thank you," she said, fixing her textbooks and papers to match the neat library books. "You could call it a headstart. I'm kinda doing my own studing."
Rad gave a small laugh and ran her hand through her hair, looking back up at the girl. She extended her hand, "I'm Rad."

Hawthorne accepted the girl's hand with a kind smile. This was the first person she had encountered who seemed more nervous and uncomfortable than herself.
"My name's Hawthorne. I know I look a little older, but I'm a freshman here. What year are you in?"
She gently squeezed the girl'd hand reassuringly before releasing it. Hawthorne hadn't met many girl's here yet, and she was hoping this one would be a friend.

Yakoutio giggled at his logic and slammed the book slut before dropping it on the floor before stepping up onto it so to get up to the eye level of the two people both sides of him. Though he was still a little short. He liked sneaking up on people at the most inconvenient of times, though this time wasn’t as inconvenient as some of the other times it still amused him ever so slightly, and it was always fun meeting new people.
“No only joking, you don’t need to whisper here, in all the time I’ve been here I haven’t seen the librarian enforce a single rule.” He chuckled.

Re: Welcome!Hawthorne, she thought to herself. She felt a slight squeese from the girl's hand before she let go and Rad felt her shoulders relax. It was nice to know someone else's name, she decided silently. Ever since Rad arrived at Manga High, she hadn't been able to catch a name of anyone that she's met, none-the-less shake someone's hand. She hasn't even met her own roommate yet.
"You don't seem too much older. I'm a so--"
A noise interuppted Rad's sentence so suddenly, she jerked back a couple of steps, her shoulders tensed; one hand shot into her pocket and the other ran through her hair as she digested what just happened. A moment later, Rad sighed, dropped her head and grinned at the ground when she realized that she had jumped at the sound of someone's voice. The whole atmosphere of the library was so soft and quiet, she hadn't realized that she was whispering until the boy pointed it out.
Rad looked up at the boy who was standing on a book to level himself with her and Hawthorne.
"That's good to know," Rad cleared her throat and chuckled slightly at the half-whisper, that had stumbled out of her mouth. The same way she had before, Rad stuck out a stiff, nervous hand to the boy and stated, "I'm Rad. A sophomore here."
Today could be my day, she thought to herself, noting that she had just introduced herself to a second person in a matter of minutes. Her own personal record.
Hawthorne jumped. In fact, the girl not only jumped, she also squeaked, and then fell on her butt. She did NOT handle surprise well. Now she was sitting on the floor staring up in horror at the person who had interrupted her and Rad.
"By Manidoo who on earth are you?"
Yes, she hadn't gotten up yet, but she was still too brain scrambled to really deal with the situation. Besides, she was seriously considering just running away. Wouldn't that solve this issue? Crazy people . . .

Datu was totally unaware of what was going on, looking for a good book for Hawthorne. After finding one, he replied to her without looking.
"I think I've finally found a book you'd enjoy. It's--" He suddenly stopped speaking when he turned towards her. Quickly scanning the situation, he knelt down on one knee beside Hawthorne.

Hawthorne put a hand to her head, trying to ground herself. Then she turned to Datu.
"I'm okay I was just startled by . . ."
She vaguely gestured in the direction of Rad and the short person. She smiled half-heartedly at Datu, he was someone she recognized, and helped her feel more comfortable in her present situation.

Yakoutio did get to finish his scentance, his eyes just opened up wide and he almost fell off of his book when he heard Datu speak. A bit ironic, he liked making people jump but would jump easily too. He hadn't noticed he had knocked someone over, he didn't even see him do it or if he had pushed her or shocked her into falling. He hopped off of the book and stepped above her, looking down, he liked people being smaller than him but now was not the time. He reached down and held his hand in front of her, smiling warmly, he felt a little bad for upsetting her and wanted to make it better as of now.
“Sorry about that.” He apologised, “I’m Yakoutio, but most people call me Yaky.”

Hawthorne accepted the hand proferred to her. This wasn't the type of introduction she was accustomed to, but she'd take it.
"Pleased to meet you Yaky, I am Hawthorne."
She paused a moment, thinking if she should give more. After all, these people seemed rather welcoming. In the end, she decided on just accepting the hand up.
Once she was on her feet again she brushed off her pants, not that it improved their appearance much.

Rad smiled as Yaky helped Hawthorne to her feet. The differences between the students at Manga High was starting to get to the girl. Yaky was small, loud and very happy; Hawthorne was slightly uncomfortable, just like Rad herself, and very jumpy; and now this other person. Rad stratched her head, wondering why she didn't notice someone else with Hawthorne when she first came in.
"I'm sorry," Rad broke in and looked at the boy who had appeared next to Hawthorne just moments ago.
"*Ano... What is your name? I feel bad that I didn't notice you earlier. I'm very sorry!" Rad fell into a deep bow to the boy, truely embarrassed that she didn't notice him.
Re: EEEEEP!!!!“Oai-deki-te…” Yakoutio put his hand over his mouth and took time to breath before putting his hands down to his sides and shaking his head slowly, “Pleased to meet you Hawthorne…”
Yakoutio smiled and stepped back up, hopping on top of the book again so he was level to the rest of everyone else in the room. He made a small game of trying to balance on top of the book on one leg but ended up almost toppling over and spinning his arms around to keep balance. He ended up standing straight on both legs and just smiling back at Hawthorne nicely.
“How do you like the school so far?” He asked afterwards, wanted to make pleasant conversation for once.

"Zhiigahaaw . . .It is okay. I have never been to school before, but I have yet to attend a class. The grounds are very pretty though, and the students are very friendly. I am adjusting sufficiently."
She smiled lightly, wistfully even.
"It is certainly not what I expected."
Absentmindedly Hawthorne began clicking her tongue piercing against her lip ring, trying to distract herself from the steadily increasing pressure of all the people surroundikng her.

Yakoutio nodded but then afterwards shook his head, he looked shocked, he had just heard something he never thought he would hear from someone ever before. He had to make sure, it had to be a slip of the tongue, but at the same time he didn’t want to be rude, he fought back his urge and just smiled and nodded again.
“This high school is a lot different to any others.” He said nicely, “There’s a lot more things that explode and ways to explode them like KAPOW!”
Yakoutio took a book from his satchel and threw it up into the air, pointing at it while it was in mid air and sending a wave of energy shards flying out of his wrist. After they ripped the book apart the small fragments of paper floated to the floor around the two, making what looked like a snowstorm.

Hawthorne was nodding along to Yaky's words, relzxing once again, until he started to talk about exploding things. A concerned look knitted itself across Hawthorne's brows. Perhaps this kid was a little unstable mentally, perhaps he needed supervision, perhaps -
Hawthorne screamed as the book was ripped apart, dropping to the floor and huddling against herself, in a near-fetal position. She began rocking lightly back and forth, quickly mumbling to herself in Anishinabe, trying to soothe her already over-frazzled nerves. The boy was insane! He would kill them all!
Involuntary tears ran down the girls cheeks, looking oddly out of place amidst her spikes and piercings. Her eyes though, her eyes had become hollow-looking, as she retreated into a place inside her mind where nobody could touch her, a trick she had learned long ago. The rest of what the boy said was lost upon her, not penetrating the protective wall every trauma victim learns to build around their mind.
