Love Nothing of This World
A Hadith tells us that Faith is to love a person for the sake of Allah alone. This can be confirmed in the Holy Qur'an in the story of Noah (Surah Hud 11:45-46) wherein Noah asks Allah that He protect his son from the terrible flood and Allah responds, "...he is not of thy family: for his conduct is unrighteous." Therefore we must love our spouse and children as long as they are righteous and obedient to the Will of Allah. As soon as they transgress the bounds of Allah we should leave them behind to their own fate. We should never become too attached to anything of this world including our own children. This is, without doubt, a very difficult thing to accept. Your thoughts?

Re: Love Nothing of This World
Every human's ultimate goal is to please Allah and earn his reward. Everything we do is for these reasons, hence the phrase, "for the sake of Allah." You must try to help others that are doing bad to do right, but when there is nothing you can do about it, it is not your fault, it is the person doing the wrong who is responsible. May Allah guide the Believers on the straight path.
If I have said anything wrong please correct me and I ask Allah for forgiveness for any faults I make.
