MBV/Reboot Crossover FanFic Author’s note Hey, it’s me, Keith, I’m back and in style. I’ve been a busy little Canuck, moving, working, whipping my own @$$ into shape dealing with life and other whatnot, but now, I have the time and the urge to get back to role playing. For the disclaimer bit, I only own the MBV characters Erik Tatsuodo and Duncan MacLeod,, sorta. They are mine, nothing else, not Reboot, not any of the other characters featured or any of the games. I am a huge fan of Reboot, I liked it when it first came out, and I personally consider its CG style as good as that of Anime. Now with the disclaimer out of the way, On with the show! The Back Story Ok, for those of you who aren’t Canadian and don’t have a sweet clue what Reboot is, I’ll give you a brief ho-down. A few years ago, this team of animators and computer geeks came together, went on down to Vancouver and set up shop. They had an idea. A computer generated cartoon about what happens in your computer. Turns out there are living things in there that run your machine. You have your sprites, your binomes, viruses, and so on, lots and lots of denizens of your hard drive. In the show, the ‘city’ is a place called Mainframe, but it started to fall apart. Between two viruses that have showed up in the system (Megabyte and Hexadecimal) and the constant threat of Games, the place was in really rough shape. Then the hero of the story showed up, Bob. He is what’s called a Guardian, his job: To Mend and Defend. A guardian is basically an anti-virus/ system fixit guy. With him there, for a while, things went really well, he fixed up the town, smacked around the Viruses a bit, and basically made it a safer place. He was even close to starting a relationship with the hottest (and only) female sprite in town, who also happens to be the Command dot com for the system, Dot Matrix. But then, bad stuff happened! One day, huge super-viruses threatened to come into Mainframe from the Web, they'd totally trash the place, really really bad stuff, so the Viruses and Bob came to a “truce” and chose to shove out the super-viruses. (The only reason why the Viruses helped Bob was because THEY want the system for themselves. Anywho, the viruses double crossed Bob and shot him into the web, without his handy key tool, Glitch. Some stuff happens, then Enzo, Bob’s favorite little buddy, takes up the mantle of Guardian and tries to save the system, but he looses a game along with his girlfriend, Andraea and his dog, Frisket and they get sucked into the web as the game leaves. Fast forward puberty for them and we see Andraea, “Matrix” and Frisket all grown up and able to kick much @$$. Fast forward some fast paced action and we find Bob, Matrix and Andaea all together with some new guy named Ray Tracer, he’s just a tag along, don’t mind him. They all hook up on one of the Mainframers’ old friends’ ships; Captain Capacitor and the crew of the Saucy Mare! Well, after some more stuff, we find that Megabyte took over Mainframe while all the hero types were away. Then the normal battle over stuff happens and the good guys win, but not without a cost. Megabyte triggered a system self-destruct command as he was deleted, so everything crashed. BUT the User chose to reboot his comp, there by saving everyone and restoring things to normal, with a few extras. Since Enzo Matrix was registered deleted when he lost his game, a younger version was tossed in, but not an Andaea or Frisket, since they were uploaded after the last save disk was created. And now, the Fic! But before the fic, the theme song of the Fic!!! The Theme Song For The Fic Song: I Love My Computer Band: Bad Religion “I love my computer You make me feel alright Every waking hour and every lonely night I love my computer for all you give to me: predictable errors and no identity And it's never been quite so easy I've never been quite so happy All I need to do is click on you and we'll be joined in the most soul-less way And we'll never ruin each other's day 'cuz when I'm through I just click and you just go away I love my computer you're always in the mood I get so turned on when I turn on you I love my computer you never ask for more You can be a princess or you can be my whore And it's never been quite so easy I've never been quite so happy All I need to do is click on you and we'll be joined in the most soul-less way And we'll never ruin each other's day 'cuz when I'm through I just click and you just go away The world outside is so big but it's safe in my domain Because to you I'm just a number and a clever screen name All I need to do is click on you and we'll be together for eternity And no one is ever gonna take my love from me because I've got security her password and a key” The Fic Chapter 1: Day in the Office We enter the scene with seeing a computer screen in DOS mode, the current and only message reads: Please insert your password. s-u-b-z-e-r-o Password Confirmed. User configuration loading. Please wait.... The screen instantly switches to the Window’s loading screen. Which instantly loads a background picture of the cast of Dragon Ball Z powered up in Super Saiyan form. The User clicks on a folder faster than we can read it’s title, he goes into a file folder named “Games” and proceeds to click on “Xenogears.zip.” Reality as we know it instantly shifts into a hyper zoom in on the screen, through the screen, surfing down the wiring and the circuitry towards the computer’s hard drive. Soon our vision pierces the hard drive and we see a huge electric blue ocean and a tiny island. Our vision gets closer and closer to the island and we begin to see that it actually resembles a city. Our vision shifts, no longer are we hyper zooming in, but we are situated inside a war room, alarms blazing at maximum volume. In the center of it all, a green humanoid female, and a weird floating thing that actually resembles an old Chinese man. Jenn: YOU! *grabs someone working at a console* What game is that coming in?!?!?!?! Scientist #1: It’s a new one Commander! Filename reads as Xenogears-Final Bout! Jenn: How much RAM will it need? Scientist #1: 32 Megs of RAM, ma’am. We still have 32 Megs left free. Jenn: Good, send for Tiren, Seiken, Aubrey and Skittle! ETA to landing time? Scientist #1: 200 nanos! Comm Officer: Messages sent! They are heading towards the game now! Jenn: Right. Master Falcon? * turns to the hovering thing that looks like an old Chinese man* What do you think? Falcon: This is the largest game we’ve had in a while, and it sounds like a fighter. Probe the cube as best as you can before it lands and send all information possible to Tiren. Jenn: Hai. *opens a vid window to Tiren* Our perspective shifts to that of a silver glad blue guy with really long hair who is flying all on his own. His icon is different from all the others, being yellow and black and not white and black. He sees Jenn’s face pop up in a vid window and smiles* Tiren: Hi Jennacy, I’m almost there. Have you been able to reach any of the others? Jenn: Everyone’s on their way. *blushes and smiles* Good luck Tiren. Tiren: *blush and smiles back* Thanks, don’t worry Jenn, I’m sure we’ll do fine. The window closes and Tiren continues to race for the cube WARNING! WARNING! INCOMING GAME! WARNING! WARNING! INCOMING GAME! Our viewpoint switches again to a zoom out of the cube landing area. Already on the scene is Seiken, Erik, Aubrey and Guilmon. Tiren lands in the pack, exchanges hellos, and then is sucked into the world of the game. Our heroes see before them large mechas, each lined up waiting to be controlled in a huge tournament. Tiren opens a READ ME and gets familiarized with the game. Tiren: Ok, this game is a mecha fighter. When we reboot, we should become mechas. Since it is a tournament fighter, it is possible that some wheres along the line we will have to fight each other. Erik: D’arrr Tiren! I’ve played this game before! It shan’t be long played, and it isn’t a difficult game to master. Seiken: Excellent. Which mecha is the strongest? *cracks knuckles in anticipation* Aubs: *sighs and gives Seiken the weird look, mutters* Boys..... Erik: It depends on how good the pilot of the Gear is. But the Gears with the most potential are Xenogears, Eden, Fenrir, Siebzehn and Weltall. Each Gear excels in certain areas, speed, strength, ether power, distance attacks, and so on. Gears differ in size and make, so be cautious at all times. Seiken: So which Gear has the biggest guns? Aubs: *GLARE* Seiken: What? *looks innocent* Erik: *AHEM* The gear with the strongest firepower would be Renmazuo. Seiken: *grins* Alphanu-*remembers he’s not a kid anymore* *nods* Aubs: *giggles* Ok, so let’s reboot already! All: REBOOT! *they double click their icons* After a large flash of light, the sprites are all transformed into Gears. The who’s who is: Tiren: Fenrir Seiken: El Renmazuo Aubrey: Crescens Guilmon: Chu Chu Erik: El Andvari Erik: D’arrrr har har!!!!! I’m Andvari again! Bow before the wraith of the Crimson Binome!!!! Seiken: *oggles his arm cannons, pleased, nods* Aubs: *flaps her large ear/wings around* O.o;;; Where did my arms go? Erik: Don’t worry your pretty head lass! Crescens is a fine Gear! She is quick, agile, and quite good with Ether! Tiren: *plays with his new sword* I like I like. Suddenly the group is all pulled away to their waiting stations. First Bout: Fenrir VS. Xenogears Tiren: Already???? OK! *gets into fighting stance* User: *gets ready, is towering over Bob in Xenogears.* Xenogears opens the fight with beginning a combo, Tiren pulls out and fires off two Ether bursts, catching the User off guard and downing him. User Health: 80% Tiren quickly dashes in and opens up with many slashes, nailing Xenogears, but not doing enough damage for the KO. Tiren then backs off to let his Gear cool down from the efforts, he then notices a small lake on the battlefield. Running, Tiren goes into the lake and underwater. Xenogears follows in hot pursuit, trying its homing lasers, all of which do nothing to Fenrir. The User then chooses to open up with an Infinity Combo, generating large lasers from its shoulder fins. The fins move and start slashing at the water, one of them hits Fenrir. Fenrir Health: 60% Tiren sees the User above him and lets loose with an Infinity Combo of his own, nailing Xenogears in the chest, doing maximum damage. Winner: Fenrir Second Player’s Turn All: WHAT?!?!?!?! Two Users???? Erik: I’m afraid it’s even worse,,, There can be a maximum of four Users in this game. All: *sweatdrops and glares* Why didn’t you say anything?????? Erik: Lads,,, I was hoping it would just be the one. Enough of that now! *glares them all back defensively* Second Bout: Chu-Chu VS. Weltall-2 Guilmon: Arff Arff... Grrrrr!!! *gets his odd body into position for battle* User2: *turns on System Id and gets in fighting stance* Erik: D’arr! You mangy mutt! Watch out for his combo attacks! Remember to heal yourself! Tiren: We can heal ourselves? Erik: No, just Guilmon there. Tiren: Nuts..... The battle opens up with Weltall-2 blazing with energy. Guilmon tries to look as frightening and dangerous as possible, as much as Chu-Chu’s cute form can allow him to do so. While the User charges, Guilmon opens with many attacks,, mostly involving butt-checks and little hamster kicks. As the Sprites try to stifle their laughter, Weltall-2 is launched across the arena. User2 Health: 50% Seiken: *nods and looks proud* Adda boy... Tiren: *snickers* Let’s just hope he never grows that big in Mainframe. The User gets back up and fires off Ether blasts that head straight for Guilmon. Guilmon motors as fast as his pink gelatinous body lets him,, which isn’t all that well. The Ether blasts connect Chu-Chu Health: 40% Guilmon gets up in time to be hit with an Infinity Combo and falls, twitching. Winner: Weltall-2 All but Erik: GUILMON!!!!!!!! Erik: Don’t worry, Guilmon will be fine, he only fell in rank, he shan’t be deleted, as long as we win and beat the User. All: *glares Erik again* Is there anything else you aren’t telling us? Erik: No,,, that just about sums it up. Third Bout: Vierge VS Crescens Aubs: *steps out and readies her wing/ears to fight* Erik: Go lady Aubrey! Vierge is fairly weak to physical attacks! Use your speed! Aubs: Right *nods* Vierge opens with two Ether blasts, both of which Aubrey dodges easily, she then opens up with wing/ear smacks, beating Vierge senseless and to a quick KO. Winner: Crescens Aubs: Wohoo! ^.^ Seiken: *nods and winks* Good work. Erik: Excellent work Andraea! You battled superbly! Fourth Bout: Eden VS El Andvari Erik: D’arrrrrr.... We meet again, you scurvy wench! Taste the steel of my whips!!! The fight begins and Erik strikes out with his arm whips, but Eden dodges effortlessly. Erik: Slag! Aubs: *comes up behind CC and wacks him good* HEY!!! Children are reading this!!!! Watch your mouth! *pleased with herself, she leaves* ^______^ Seiken: O.o;;; Tiren: O.o;;; Aubrey: What? And the battle rages on. Eden gets into close range to Erik and lets loose with combos, Erik guards agaisn’t them but is still taking damage. El Andvari Health: 70% Erik: Good opening,, you’ve drawn first blood, but beware the wraith of the Crimson Binome!!!! Erik counters with kicking combos that catch Eden off guard. Eden Health: 80% The Crimson Binome then follows up with a few Ether blasts, gets Eden down again and lets loose with whip attacks. Erik: D’arrrr har har!!!!!!! *starts kicking it* Winner: El Andvari Erik: *grins* Excellent. I believe that just leaves you, young Seiken. Seiken: *cracks knuckles and steps out of the paddock* Fifth Bout: El Renmazuo VS. Siebzehn Seiken: *loads his guns, grinning* Siebzehn: *gets into combat position* The fight begins with bullets and Ether blasts being launched from both Gears. Seiken has the upper hand with his speed, but Siebzehn’s armor is hard to pierce. Siebzehn tries to rush Matrix, but using El Renmazuo’s ether cannons, Siebzehn is kept at bay, but not before firing off a few Ether blasts El Renmazuo Health: 80% Siebzehn Health: 70% Aubrey: Come on Seiken!!! You can do it! Tiren and Erik: Go Seiken! Seiken: *gets a plan in his head, grins* The battle rages on, Siebzehn finally gets into attacking range and starts to hammer down on Seiken, knocking him to the ground. As Siebzehn jumps El Renmazuo stands up and jumps aswell, catching Siebzehn in the torso. Smiling that his plan worked, Seiken fired off several rounds into the Gear’s torso, taking the win. Winner: El Renmazuo Loading Semi-Finals..... Semi-Finals Loaded. First Bout: Fenrir VS. Weltall-2 Erik: Tiren! Be careful! When Weltall-2 uses his System Id mode he’s capable of instant Infinity Combos! Use your speed to dodge! Tiren: Right! *gets into fighting stance* User 2: *turns on System Id, gets ready to attack* Weltall-2 instantly charges at Fenrir, firing Ether blasts and trying to get in a few swift hits, but Tiren blocks each attack with his sword. Tiren then jumps up, firing off a few Ether blasts of his own, which The User blocks against. Fenrir then lets loose with many sword slashes, hacking away at Weltall-2 and causing much damage. Fenrir Health: 80% User2 Health: 43% Aubs: Go Tiren! Let him have it!! Seiken: Come on Tiren! Show ‘im who’s boss! Erik: D’arrr!!!! *blinks* >.> What they said! Aubs+Seiken: *sweatdrop* Tiren keeps hacking at Weltall-2, but his gear is getting worn out with the effort. Tiren then achieves an Infinity Combo of his own and finishes off The User. GAME OVER The game ends and the Mainframers find themselves outside again, with Frisket. Nate: Tiren!!!! *tackles Tiren to the ground* Alphanumeric! Tiren that was your best game yet! Tiren: *blush and looks awkward* ^^;;;;;;; Thanks Nate. Seiken: Good work Tiren! Let’s go to Level 31 for a drink, my treat. Tiren: *likes the idea* Sure! Jenn: *shows up with Skit on their zip boards. Jenn looks relieved and happy to see everyone* Good work Tiren! *glomps* Tiren: *grins and glomps back* Suddenly, the computer’s voice is heard again. WARNING! WARNING! INCOMING GAME! WARNING! WARNING! INCOMING GAME! Seiken: What? Two in a row??? This is bad, this is very bad Tiren: *nods* Very very bad. The cube lands on them, sucking them all off into another reality End Chapter 1. To Be Continued..... Yep,, so that was chapter one, what do you guys think? Let me know if you guys like it or not, and if you do, maybe I’ll post chapter 2! (Well,, considering chapter two is a lot funnier and better in general,,, I’ll probably post it anyways.
