June 1st - June 19th
It's almost summer! The last few weeks of school have come, and students will need to study hard for their final exams! Don't let up yet, or your grades won't be what you want them to. Of course, the weather is almost perfect and pristine, in attempts to lure students away from their studies.
Full Name: Marquis Geminni Nickname(s): Geminni DOB: 23/10 Year: 1994 Blood: Pure-Blood, but Marquis is oblivious to this and iit's linked to his history. Marquis finds out later that his parents were actually Death Eaters and went insane while at Azkaban Prison. For all he knows, he could be muggle born.
House Preference: Slytherin Why: Marquis' dark appearance and somewhat arrogant attitude that seems to shine off him constantly. He isn't the most tolerant boy out there. Especially of peoples personalities. So, he may get into many arguments with a lot of students which will cause him to be quite disliked.
Another reason Marquis would prefer to be put into Slytherin is because his marks in certain subjects, such as potions, show for it. He always studies hard but not for grades - But to bertter himself at wizardry. Perhaps this somewhat selfish outlook on studying is another reason he should be accepted.
Physical Appearance:
Marquis is around 6 foot tall, caucasian, and looks quite gaunt and frail. The strange thing is, he is the correct weight for his age (50 kg's) but he doesn't look it. Though, without a shirt on, you will see that his skin is actually filled with definition. He doesn't have pectorial muscels, or a 6-pack, but you can't see his bones etc through his skin.
His jaw-length black hair, usually messed up stylishly. Doing this balances out his rather thin, imperfectious facial structure that he dislikes quite a bit. His nose isn't any longer than most, but it comes out at a rather pointy edge which can make him look a little stern at times. Fortunately, his hair hardly ever covers his beautiful green eyes. But, thats what sunglasses are for.
This is just an example of what he wears on a day-to-day basis - A fitting shiny black extremely short-sleeve shirt - Red & black arm warmers that reach to his elbows - A tight long sleeve fishnet top covering previously explained items - A tight PVC skirt and knee-hi leather tie-up boots. He also has a tongue piercing
Apart from everything explained earlier, he has just white skin all over, and a few marks on his palms and knees from having them scraped so often.
He usually cocks one leg over the other and folds his hands on top of his leg while talking and tries his hardest NOT to do any hand gestures, but, finds it rather hard when he is speaking about something he is rather passionate about.
Personality:
Marquis is extremely fond of listening to music and making music (read history). Foreign movies have always struck his fancy too, as they usually show a side to filming that is rarely explored in more popular movies. Marquis also loves reading and writing, though, his writing is usually complex and barely understood. He prefers reading fantasy novels, and writing fantasy/sci-fi stories. Unfortunately, Marquis happens to be the kind of guy who subconsciously prefers to be alone, but is longing for a long term relationship. In short – He likes being close to people he cares about. Strangely, he also enjoys almost all forms of humor (though, he has never really taken to “random” humor). He loves technology, which includes computers, the internet, stereos, MP3 players, speakers, and large TV’s (though, he only likes his own because he will only buy the BEST).
Marquis despises unjust/arrogant behavior and anything related to those two things. He also dislikes stupidity and ugly people. People that soak up attention constantly do nothing but irritate him as they obviously have nothing better to do other than sit around, moping, or making a fool out of themselves.
Marquis dreams of becoming the next headmaster of Hogwarts, or the most powerful wizard in the world. Perhaps, even, if he chooses to take it extremely seriously, he could become a famous Quidditch player.
Marquis has always feared the ocean because he knows what the ocean contains, but not what is right under his feet when he’s in it. He fears muggles, as they can be quite powerful when they combine. And he also fears being the center of attention in a negative way. He will get very defensive and still say in his logical mind set, but he will be very nervous. He fears razors, but knows he must shave regularly. He fears cutting himself accidentally, so it usually takes him about an hour to shave. He fears insects and arachnids, but absolutely adores reptiles (especially snakes).
Marquis loves olaying Quidditch, Reading, writing, watching movies, listening to music, making music, playing on the computer, etc.
Although he hasn’t much psychical strength AT all, his knack for learning and soaking up any sort of information is quite strong. He loves talking to people, although, sometimes, it takes them a while to get him speaking. Although he doesn’t care for many people, the ones he does care for – He would do anything for them. Though, from his appearance and attitude, you’d never think it.
He is very good with magic, but this only comes with his constant practice. Due to his lack of many friends, you often find him in his room on the weekends, practicing spells all day long, or in the library, reading (usually about famous wizards and/or inspirational stories of wizards that have had magic problems/handicaps). This makes him feel very good about himself, and it stops him from being entirely antisocial. Because when he feels he has accomplished something, he try’s to find someone to talk to about it (but it usually ends up being a librarian).
He is a very nice and sweet person, he is just quiet until he warms up. He can always accept when he is wrong, but he will go down swinging until every point of his is absolutely shattered. He always lets people present their arguments first, and he never buts in on a conversation/argument because he cannot STAND people that do that.
Unfortunately, HE IS WEAK AS ALL HELL... Food is definitely not his favorite ally, and he will only eat when needed. The only thing he ever works out is his arms when he is practicing magic. This is the reason for his relatively gaunt appearance.
He loves friends AND making them, but, he finds it extremely hard to do so, and most people avoid him complexly (it’s usually his psychical appearance that does that). He is a social procrastinator and is in complete denial about it. Although he does need practice to keep up his magic skills, he does over do it. You can never practice too much, but he uses it as an excuse to stay locked up and secluded in his dorm.
Although he isn’t, his attitude does nothing but scream “ARROGANT” and “ASSHOLE!”. His honest is usually the prime insult to a lot of the women that approach him (although, he has learned to stop answering the “does this skirt make me look fat?” question). Marquis is usually teased and beaten because of these faults, so he try’s to avoid people as often as possible. He is very judgmental, and this usually leads to him completely avoiding almost anyone. He will only approach a person if they look interesting or if he needs something from them.
Person(People) Most Afraid Of and Why: Aurors, and basically any large authority figures, definitely. He fears their powers and their abilities, and also envies them greatly. Although Death Eaters are equally as strong, he knows their numbers are limited, and even if they weren’t, the whole dark scene never scared him. He was more afraid of power he COULDN’T see. Which is the power that Aurors have. Another reason for just the fear of authority figures, it is his higher than average anxiety level. Even when he knows he has done nothing wrong, he will always sweat and get bullerflys when he see's someone from the ministry or when a teacher asks him a question.
One of Marquis' most proudest moments was when he completed all of his homework for the night, then continued to complete the next 4 weeks of homework in the same night. It was the most satisfying moment he had ever had – To know he would be at ease for weeks. He knows this is a nerdy sort of moment, but the sensation he felt when he knew he could just kick back and relax for hours at night without worrying about doing homework made him feel better than he ever has before.
Marquis' sense of humor is very vast, but he is more partial towards genres of humor such as silly humor and intelligent humor.
What Character does alone: It has already been explained. Practice magic, play/make music, read/write novels/stories, play on his laptop, etc. Occasionally, he will write in his journal, although this has been happening more frequently while at Hogwarts
Overall, Marquis is fairly stuck up, but far from arrogant unless he actually knows he is more intelligent/stronger than the person he is judging. He likes a good laugh as much as the next, and although he doesn’t get along with many people or classmates, he will always laugh if a joke is said aloud. He loves nature, and technology just as much. Reptiles and cats fascinate him and he finds a lot of their characteristics in himself so he has always adopted them as pets. He is a very friendly person, it just takes a while to get him to warm up to you. He is an anxious person, so if you befriend him, expect him to stick very close to you.
History:
The fact that he never knew his parents, and still does not know what happened to them has molded him as a person over the years, and the deep agitation of people of the muggle AND wizarding world knowing what happened drives him almost insane. They both know the outcomes, but both have a different story (obviously, the wizarding tale is the truth). But, other than that, It was when he turned 11 and found out he was a wizard.
Marquis’ parents are unknown to him, and it is one of his few touchy subjects. The only thing he knows of his family, is the name that he still carries as his own. He despises the thought of a happy, cheery family but only because of his lack thereof sends him to jealousy.
Since before he could remember, he has been shifted from foster home to foster home. More often than not, the reasons included his inability to associate himself with others and aggressive nature towards those who try (he was more scared and aggressive as a child). He just felt as if he didn’t belong, and others attitude towards him, confirming that thought, didn’t help. The few friends he did have usually went away in very short periods of time because more popular kids always got to his friends just after he did.
(Marquis clearly doesn’t know this, but he doesn’t fit in because he subconsciously doesn’t want too)
At the age of 9, Marquis made his first accidental “magic trick”. A 12 year old boy named Trent who saw him as an easy target decided to give him a bit of trouble. Trent and one of his friends (Jake) eventually cornered Marquis, and were just being general bullies (shoving, laughing at his reactions, etc). Eventually, in all wasted efforts to break free, Marquis stared into Jakes eyes. After a few seconds, he stumbled backwards, rubbing his eyes, and exclaimed “I can’t see! I’M BLIND!”. While this caught Trent’s attention, Marquis delivered a quick blow to his stomach that did practically nothing but catch him off guard, and ran as hard as he could. Marquis doesn’t know this, but Jake recovered his vision only a few seconds after he lost locked eye contact.
Since that morbid day, he has, again, been switched from foster home to foster home more frequently, until a generous couple approached him at a shelter for the orphans. At this stage, he was 9 and a quarter. The mid-30 year old couple invited him to stay with them for as long as he wished, on the serious condition that he did ALL of the house work because they were both serious business people (both lawyers), had no time for chores and didn't trust maids due to previous experiences. He would be paid for his chores, and quite handsomely, but the price was he HAD to do them no matter what (unless sickness or some emotional cloud swept over him, etc). The deal wasn't "We pay you well, you do chores". The deal was "You do chores, we pay you well.".
During his time with the Auberry’s, he saved every single penny he earned from doing house work and bought very few items with it (a musical keyboard and a laptop is all that comes into mind). Eventually, he got the hang of making music, and decided this was going to be his preferred career in the future, and dedicated all of his time to practicing music. All of these dreams of being a rock star, on stage, were shattered, and a new one reborn when he reached the age of 11.
He received a letter from Hogwarts just after his birthday that said he has been accepted to the school of witchcraft and wizardry. After ignoring this letter, not knowing what to do and quite frankly, feeling a bit freaked out by it, he was approached by a rather stern wizard who told him what he was, answered all of his questions (that included career paths of the wizarding world, mostly, although Marquis didn't understand what he was saying at the time) and what Hogwarts was all about. Of course, Marquis jumped at the chance to become a part of the wizarding world.
The same day he was approached, he said his goodbyes to the people he had felt closest to, and left with many tears shed by all. Marquis wasn't up for getting his supplies that very day, especially with his keyboard slung over his shoulder and his laptop in his backpack. Marquis literally had to stop every 10 minutes. Eventually, the wizard took him into an ally, and transported the items that weighed down Marquis completely to Hogwarts with just a flick of his wrist. He distinctly remembers the wizard saying to him-
“Although I am allowed to do magic outside of school, it is not for you. Keep it within school grounds, lad. You’ll learn all about it soon. I see potential in you.”
This made Marquis stare at the man awkwardly, but the wizard looked more worried than happy about his comment.
Marquis doesn’t know this, but the wizard was referring to magical power and Marquis’ uncanny ability to grasp it. To the wizard, Marquis is going to have two choices in his life that would affect him in every way imaginable. He will either become a very powerful Auror, or an insanely powerful Death Eater/leader. He had a very strong feeling that he was going to meet Marquis again some day in the future… He couldn’t help but ponder on the feeling he was getting.
After exiting the Leaky Cauldron, the wizard and Marquis continued to Gringots, the wizarding bank, to exchange a fair amount of Marquis’ money that he had saved up. Straight after, they headed off to buy all of his books and supplies. When Marquis entered Olivanders, he was relatively shocked and scared of the man and his behavior. After trying a few wands, the right one was found when he gave it a wave and sparks flew out in a rainbow fashion. The wand was ebony with Basilisk scale (the only one in existence, although, apparently this wasn’t rare in the wizarding world).
Marquis quietly headed out of Olivanders with one of the most abstract looks on his face that almost sent his new wizard friend into tears out of laughter. Immediately, Marquis spotted a large owl on a sign and saw that it was a pet shop. Heading in with a frown, he headed back out with a smile, and a small snake wrapped around a small branch in a rather small cage. He would later on buy a large tank for his snake that he set up in his room at Hogwarts.
Marquis’ first year was a constant blur that he found hard to keep up with until the last 2 months of schooling (he had learnt the ropes by then). Bearing in mind he started school just days after he was introduced into the wizarding world and sorted into the house Slytherin, he was quite shocked that he didn’t make thousands of friends as he supposed he would. In fact, everybody seemed more than cold towards him, which often lead to Marquis becoming rather upset about being in the school.
A comment was made to him at the very end of the year, around a month left of school, that changed a lot of his opinions on the wizarding world. He was in Defense Against The Dark Arts when he and another classmate were all of a sudden locked in a duel. It started off as an argument that all Slytherin’s were the same, and ended with Marquis disarming the boy. After a few seconds, the young man said to him-
“You’re just like all the other Slytherin’s. You’re a complete bastard. While I’m still in this school, every breath you take will be known by me. I am watching you.”
Ironically, this boy was suspended and had to spend several weeks in detention for house discrimination and trouble-starting. But after this was said, Marquis indulged on the history of dark & good magic, and where Slytherin’s reputation started. Marquis was unimpressed, but inspired by their strength and ability to create so many followers to such a dark side. That night, he opened his journal and started writing up a concept. An alliance, to be more precise, that used magic of both good and evil, for the good of the wizarding world. He believed the means to make a perfect balance was a perfect structure of good and evo;. He would not become a part of the Auror community, as he did not agree with their strict rules and regulations. He would not become a part of the Death Eater alliance, as he found their ways too morbid and selfish. He would become a leader of his own army, The Virtue Of Sin’s.
This borderline affiliation army would grow to be at the same numbers as the Auror and Death Eaters communities, and just as powerful. Though, they would be constantly warred against by both sides. TVOS is neither good, nor bad. They simply do what they think is the best for the wizarding world and this may mean at times it will seem like they are helping the Auror’s, or the Death Eater’s.. In a way, they are a lot like the Order Of The Phoenix to the Ministry, but they aren’t concentrated on good overcoming evil or vise versa. They are concentrated on a healthy balance between dark and evil alliances. One of their most powerful sayings being – “Without evil, what gives “good” meaning?”
Their signal would be an old fashioned weighing mechanism. Because of their intentions, TVOS have more problems with the Death Eater’s than they do with the Order.
After he had written it all down – ranks, overall purpose, their stance in society, everything he could think of, the idea started to turn him off. He couldn’t understand how one being could control such power. He rested a sleepless night, contemplating all the ways he could become a powerful leader. He pondered how could he be such a powerful leader if he wasn’t NATURALLY good at magic? And had to put time and effort into it?
These thoughts trailed onto the end of the school year, where he went home to his loving half-family for the period of time until he went back to Hogwarts
Throughout the rest of his years at Hogwarts, he made sure he kept his head down and studied hard both theory wise and practically. By his 3rd year of Hogwarts, Marquis was already mastering his own potion making and spell casting. He had perfected several new potions he made up himself and used them frequently. They were all ones that changed his physical appearance, such as his hair color, eye color or skin color (sometimes he would make himself look so pale, he looked dead. The side effect was that he would go completely cold but wouldn’t feel it). A lot of his spells were a lot like Snape’s spells. Dark and twisted, but very useful. He practiced on pens and other small items that he would turn into mice with a transfiguration spell. They were all practices he would use when he was older.
All of these thoughts of maintaining a balance between good and evil were diminished over the years, unfortunately, and Marquis became darker and darker. He locked himself up in his dorm and spoke to no one except his Quidditch team. Not even the teachers could get through to him. And because he wasn’t doing anything wrong, nobody could expel him.
The closest he got to being expelled was when a Ravenclaw thought it would be funny to hide his note book that he always wrote in (mostly concepts and drawings for his art/writing). Marquis knew exactly who did it, so he walked up to the boy’s desk where he was sitting down, chuckling to himself, and transfigured his pen that he was holding into a mouse. After a few squeaks. Marquis muttered a spell and the mousse neck began to twist.. And twist.. Until a sharp snap punctuated the suspense. Before the blood started to spill marquis turned the mouse back into a pen, and outstretched his hand. The boy gave him his note book back, and Marquis returned to his desk. Marquis convinced the headmaster that he didn’t know it was the wrong thing to do, he just saw no other solution. After speaking with the headmaster for several hours about dealing with situations like that, Marquis left free of punishment. He grinned to himself and went back to studying in his room.

Role Playing Experience: Quite a while, but I had a large break (about half a year). I’ve been on 3 different Underworld RPG’s, an X-Men RPG and one other Harry Potter RPG (but everyone on there were so ridiculously stupid and unreasonable).
Sereal glared through his slit-red-pupils at the man he was combating with in the ally. The homeless elderly man was yelling to himself, probably sorting out a disagreement with his second schizophrenic self as a lot of mad homeless men do. In his right hand, the man held a knife and his left was swinging at Sereal aimlessly. In Sereal's right hand, he held nothing but his own power of limited strength, and in his left, an old coat that he found. Ironically, the coat he was going to use as a defensive weapon against the mans knife was the same coat the man was after in the first place.
”Gimmi the fuckin’ coat or I’ll stick ya”
Sereal looked at the man in humor ”Oh, the irony of such stupidity. I would, if only I thought it be the only thing you were after. How long has it been since you last had a woman, man?”
At this response, the man started running towards him. Sereal gathered some venom onto his tongue and spat it into the mans eyes. Per usual, the man flew backwards, and started screaming and convulsing. Using this time to escape, Sereal tossed the man the coat and laughed.
”Pathetic excuse for a living being. Even I could sense you were a nutcase. Though, I didn’t need my tongue to tell me that.”
Sereal hissed and was on his way. Sereal was all too arrogant for his own good, but it kept him alive. Like a snake, he was fairly conservative and reclusive. This also kept his blood from being spilt.

Hey Elliot, thanks for applying at Hogwarts- A New Day Has Come, but before we can look through your application, you need to have it in the application format that we provide on the board. I would also suggest going through and reading ALL of the information needed on the board before applying, seeing as you're lacking the last half of the code.
