Motivation: When considering the background and personality of your character it is important for you to decide on the principle motivation for that character to be out adventuring. It does not have to be the only motivation, and can change over time, but at the beginning each PC needs to good reason for pursuing such a dangerous profession.
Chaos: The Moagari are a relatively diverse people, enjoying the company of elves, dwarves, Lunars and assorted foreigners. However, one thing that unites almost everyone in the society is a universal hatred and fear of Chaos. It is a very real and threatening force in their lives, and not something to taken lightly. Even bitter blood-feuds between the Moagarii are put aside in the face of Chaos so that the common enemy can be defeated. But, being imperfect mortals, those feuds will be taken up again with interest once the supernatural threat has passed.
Languages: (This replaces the starting languages for races and classes in the PHB.) Everyone in the campaign speaks the common tongue, Moagaran. Dwarves also speak dwarvish, and elves also speak elvish. It requires the dedication of a skill point to be able to read and write a language. Lunar is a complex language and requires two skill points, and literacy in Lunar requires an additional two skill points. The nomadic horse tribes of the western grasslands have their own language, Olmani, but it is fractured into a dozen different dialects so communication with different tribes can be difficult.
Starting Gold: (This replaces the Random Starting Gold table on page 95 of the PHB.) The GM will allocate starting gold amounts to each player.
