Vladmir Ebonglade, level 20 Dark Elf Rogue, and Guildleader of The Mage Tower on Mithaniel Marr, hereby announces his retirement.
He'd like to thank Verant and Brad McQuaid for the forethought involved in the rogue class, and the numerous cases of false advertizing (He couldn't have done it without 'ya, Brad).
He'd also like to thank the Gods that be for the opportunity to twink the hell out of a viable class that he already enjoys much better from a playability standpoint. Necros actually work close to the way they were intended, can solo, are welcomed into groups, and can take on Even-conned creatures without batting an eye. Oh yea, and in one level (8) he will be more of a Master of Stealth than his lvl 20 Rogue ever was.
Thanks again Verant. We wonder why you even bothered with the Rogue class.
Re: Mithaniel Marr Fellow Guildmates and Fellow Rogues,
I hereby post a notice of retirment for Blazze Evercrack. After much enjoyment of hanging out with the Sodality guild and friends of Norrath, Blazze has decided to hang up her daggers and enter retirement in the Planes of Palm Springs.
As part of the retirement, Blazze has filed for a divorce from Frombe Evercrack, a lowly scum cleric that never bought her an engagement ring. After many years of marriage, Blazze claims that Frombe is like an accountant miser that just hoards his platnum to buy weapons and armor instead of enjoying the finer things in life. As part of the divorce settlement, Blazze is filing for half of Frombe's net worth which she will donate to all Sodality guild members.
After the implementation of poison, Blazze grew tired of learning three new skills which required mundane repetitive tasks and the need to kill thousands of green monsters just to get components. To use poison, a Rogue must become a master in Pottery to make vials. Vials require an unruined pelt which are sometimes difficult to find. Upon the completion of a vial, a rogue must Make Poison which required poison sacks from various greenies around Norrath which are hard to come by as well. Upon getting this skill to a level to make poison, a rogue then has to apply the poison. If you failed applying the poison, you lost the vial and had to start again. However, if successful, the damage results were unsatisfying for all the hard work, and the poison only worked once and then had to be reapplied!
While Blazze has had many good backstabs, she just could not tolerate being backdoored by Verant and has thus retired in disgust of Verants weak and slow attempts at making a rogue fun to play.
Blazze wishes all of Sodality and her friends of Norrath the best of luck and hopes that someone in the guild will reach level 50!
Goodbye Everquest
I just want to say goodbye to you guys. After coming back from vacation in Hawaii two weeks ago I haven't gone back to EQ since. I just don't feel like playing anymore, especially since I have nothing to look forward to in terms of new skills, weapons, or armor. It's been fun though, and this message board has made it a better experience. So the account is now selling on Ebay (thank goodness for Ebay. When I get bored of things they usually collect dust in the closet, but now I sell it on Ebay :)
But don't worry about me guys. My gaming thirst will be quenched by the new Sega Dreamcast! He he he.
--------------------- Farewell from the once deadly rogue Taquim (27th level) on Mithaniel Marr
You'll never catch me Brother Xave!!
This announcement isnt so much of a retirement announcement... Poor whimsical, unlucky rogue of the 25th level known as Miro the Raven has retired to the Ocean of Tears. In his stead walks the proud, the mighty, the much more capable and lucky Salvadore Crowwe, already 20th level. Had to start my own account finally instead of leaching time off of my roomates account. Unfortunately (or is it?) one cannot transfer characters from one account to another, and upon beginning my own account quickly made this new half-elven rogue. My only regret in retiring Miro was that he was one of the last to be allowed the word "the" in his last name before 40th level. Upon running into Brother Xave, I was informed that my name was going to be changed as soon as he had time. Fat chance Brother Xave, you'll never catch me! I quickly logged off, after speaking to a few friends. Miro was my first character and got to enjoy all of the mistakes and experimentation of the early days in EQ...he will be missed. However, his legacy (i.e. his equipment and about 1500pp lives on with Salvadore, who also got the better starting stats (having learned from old Miro's many mistakes). If you knew me as Miro, look me up...Im lingering around High-Strung Pass and the Karana's. -Miro the Raven, rogue25 aka Salvadore Crowwe, rogue20ish
