Written in glossy words on the front are the words “My mind is an open casket:” Beneath that—in the rather messy hand of a younger Tibiana—is her name, now scratched out and replaced by the nickname “Tibbs”. There does not appear to be any charms or locks upon it, but woe betide anyone who dares to glance within its depths. The first few pages are undated and filled with scribbled pictures that only a child can decipher. On the seventh page, the following is written: “Dearest sis, We’ve finally unpacked and as I was looking through old childhood memoirs, I found this old diary of yours. Cute pictures! :-P Thought you might enjoy them; Merry Christmas.
