NPCs in Threads Cannon fodder, irritants, antagonists, protagonists, random people 01-101, and the like. Though they may not be our characters, can they be rp'd on the side, as to provide something more to 'play with', also known as 'that which can torture my pc's'. ^.^ *chuckles* How would that be worked? Mod'd versus un mod'd threads, how would they handle it? Re: NPCs in Threads : nods : yes I do. In the mod'd un-mod'd I ment for those threads that are mod'd, vs those threads that are not mod'd. A Mod'd thread may have the Mod running the NPC's or they may open it to the players. But it would be a bit different in how NPC's are run then un-mod'd threads. I was thinking to have the NPC's be usable by all the players ( ie they can write actions for them and what not, no matter who came up with the NPC). But I wanted to clarify just what was ok. Re: NPCs in Threads *nods to 'Hart* In mod threads it would be up to the moderator either to write for the NPCs or to let the players know that they can write for them, too. As for NPCs in unmodded threads .. it's one of two things, I'd say: if the thread is using a setting or world described in the OOC Forum, and the description lists that Mrs X and Mr Y are NPCs playable by anyone, then everything's all well and good. Anybody can grab them and put words into their mouths. If the thread is not taking place in a described world, or a new NPC enters that is not listed in a description, then I'd say it's up to the person who originally writes the character .. in which case, a note ought to be appended to the thread (or to the first post or few wherein that character appears) letting the other players know whether or not they can play with the character, too. -- |
