I am in serious need of help with organization. I hope someone can help me. I consider myself a neat person, but there is still clutter. I don't even know where to start with the closets, cabinets, drawers etc etc. Why can't I throw magazines and paper away? I dream of the day when everything has it's place, but where is that place? Any help is appreciated. TIA, Julie |

Hi Julie!
I am pretty organized, but I am not a neat freak. I think sometimes other family members add to the clutter because they aren't quite sure where to put things. I tend to label things. I know it may seem a bit overkill, but it really does help. I label the cabinets in the kitchen to say what should go in each cabinet. I do allow myself to have one junk drawer. I just feel that it's my little space to toss stuff if I am having one of those days. It has a limit and when it's getting full, I spend time sorting it out. (so you can see I am not a neat freak) I also really like plasic containers. (bins, crates, dishpans) I even save my son's babywipes containers for small objects. *LOL* I hope that helped a little bit. I am far from being the best source of advice or suggestions in this area. *LOL* Sara |

Hi ladies. Making a list is really helpful to me. I start a list for my "chores". I get up in the morning and have my tea, and then get cracking. Some days I get going so much that I realize I need to slow it down. I am the type that picks up immediately after the mess. It takes alot of motivation, but I have disciplined myself to be this way. I totally agree with the plastic boxes etc. I would be lost without my little organizers. I don't label, but what a great idea to try. Hey Sara! You should make up some household chore lists that we could print. It would save me from the scribbled lists I make. lol I think it makes a big difference if you have a larger living space though. I noticed when I lived in a small partment that I had a hard time finding places for everything. Maybe someone will post some tips for small spaces etc. Ok, I have gone on enough. ~Melissa~ P.S. I know I know..I still haven't registered. lol |

Hi again Julie. I just relocated, so am on a mission to organize better. My main "hot spot" was drawers filled with papers. Most everything is pretty neat, but I have a weakness for not tossing out a magazine or an article, or just papers I think I will need or want later. *LOL* I bought a file cabinet and am seriously going to use it for more than just taxes, instruction manuals, insurances, and importan tpapers. I bought extra folders and it's time to organize the paper junk drawer. hehe |
