I'm using one now. Here is the deal.
The troll smithed weapons (and shield) are our cultural stuff. However, trolls get shafted hard (like half-elves and vah'shir). See, we have the standard recipes to get us to 188 like everyone else. Then, we have our cultural smithing which is not trivial at 250. All the other races with cultural smithing have bridge recipes to fill in the gaps between 188-250, for example, Ogres have old cultural stuff. More on this later.
First, you need an old weapon or MM shield. I bought mine in the bazaar. Then you need to get the stuff to make the tempers - 2 blue diamonds, and start wandering the swamp. I spent a few hours wandering looking for ground spawns - swamp veggies and swamp mushrooms. While doing this, relieve a few frogloks of their tongues.
Go to a brew barrel, and combine water, an undead froglok tongue, malt, and a cask. This was not trivial to me at 138 skill, but the components are easy to find and less then a silver each, so screw it. I don't think i fizzled any anyways. This makes Broog's old peculiar.
The, combine a Broogs with 1 swamp veggie, and 1 swamp shroom, to make a bile temper. You need 2 I think.
Now you need to make celestial temper. Combine in a kiln 1 blue diamond with 1 jar of acid to make BD powder. Do this twice.
Then at a brew barrel combine, make purified water - 1 flask of water, 1 celestial essence. Do this twice.
Combine the purified water and the BD powder in a bew barrel to make celestial temper. Do this twice.
To the (regular) forge. Combine a block of acrylia, smithy happer, flask of water to make a sheet of folded acrylia. (like for armor). Then put your sheet, smithy hammer, and 1 celestial temper in the forge to make an infused folded sheet of acrylia. Do this twice.
Put your weapon/shield in a forge. Combine (for the shield) the old shield, a large kite shield mold, and the 2 sheets of infused folded acrylia, and a smithy hammer to make a worked shield. This trivials at 188.
Then, put the worked shield in the GROBB cultural forge with a chisel, a file, and your bile temper. A troll with sufficient skill will hit combine, and have a 50% chance to make your shield (assuming he has 250 skill in smithing.) You can add in an imbued gem - for example, adding in an imbued jade will add 30hp more to the shield, making it 50hp, but restricting it to RZ worshippers. I don't think anyone has tried imbuing for a god other then RZ/CT/Innoruuk.
Remember all that shit I said at the beginning, about how trolls get sorta shafted with cultural smithing? Well, as a result of that, most trolls don't bother with smithing (and rightfully so, the shield is nice but most of the other weapons suck, and 2 BD's per attempt is a little steep). I can do all the steps up to the final combine, and from there, you need someone to do the final combine in grobb. I did my whole shield, except the last step. To the best of my knowledge the only person on the entire server who can finish a piece of troll cultural with any chance of success is Grongl. I told him I did it all except final combine, I had all the stuff including temper, would he do a combine? He said sure, and since it was for me, he would do it for free. Will he do it for you? I don't know. Will he do it for free? I don't know. I also gave him some extra bile tempers I had made, too. If he told random people who bothered him for combines to piss off, at this stage of my smithing career, I would understand and am very thankful to him for making it. Maybe he will do it for you, and maybe not. Bear in mind that Grongl is in Lotus Cult, and he is a warrior of some importance, and hence he is a Very Busy Troll. If you wish me to try it for you I'd be happy to attempt it, but I have maybe a 2/10 chance of doing the final combine. I only have 200 (simulated) skill now. I can do the other steps, though.

So without the imbued gem there is no diety restriction on the shield? Just that the shield has 30 less hp? Anyone can use it then without the diety restriction?
I assume I couldnt add an imbued gem to Brell and have the combine work could I?
How much would you charge for the work Cikki? (Assume I supplied the components but you would have to do all the combines.)

The shield is made with troll cultural smithing. The only people I know on the server that can make them are Grongl and I. Grongl is far, far more likely to be successful then I am. I would need 2 blue diamonds, 2 blocks of acrylia ore, and one old MM shield. I have the rest of the stuff (very cheap or free groundspawns). As far as imbueing for a "good" god, thats a question I have wondered myself - to the best of my knowledge no one has tried an imbue for a god other then evil, but if you want me to try I would be happy to - the worst that would happen is, I would get a "do not combine" message and would have to remove the gem to try. You need to imbue a ruby for brell. I am more then happy to try for free for anyone in the guild for their personal use as long as they keep in mind that this is not even close to trivial and I am likely to supply you with nothing at all in the end. Since BD's are so cheap now though, it's not as bad as it once was. I need one more BD from hiemer to try his shield (he is next).
(and, as Ez asked - yes, without the diety gem combine, you get a shield that is 20hp instead of 50 and has no diety restriction. With the exception of a shaman class, most people would probably prefer no diety gem because it so harshly restricts the use of it - for example, if I had done an Inny imbue on my shield, and I got a better one, I would only be able to give it to Zubov - since mine has no imbue I could give it to any of the equippable classes.)

Oh, and as far as Iculus goes - I would use both. I would use the Ashenbone shield for normal work, and a SBS for fighting casters. How I wish I could have equipped the ashenbone shield! I was the only SK present when it dropped *3* times - ah well, I passed it to someone who could have used it, at least.
