I was tricked by another into thinking that it would reveal Illyana's true feelings for me-feelings that I share, with all my heart. Illyana-Revulsion? Rothen-Love. Illyana-I don't love you... Rothen-You do...but your family has forced us apart, forbidden you from even considering our union. In desperation, I sought out that foul witch Morgana to help me...but she tricked me, anf for what happened to you I am truly sorry. As for my intentions...I have come for Illyana of course, but I have no intention of fighting you...it would not be fair, you are injured. Aerin-Don't trust him! He's a deceiver and a trickster! Rothen-And Aerin, for all his skill, has far too narrow a view of the world. He sees anyone who is in opposition to him as a 'villain'. His voice drops low. It sounds soothing, sweet... There is no need for us to be enemies, when we can be friends. Do you truly love Illyana? Does she truly love you? Or are you simply infatuated, and she, trapped by a love spell? If the spell were removed, would she still love you? Will you waste your life with a woman who may one day turn away from you, when the spell wears off? She loved me, once...she still does, in her way. I love her more than any other. Why not give her to me...let me take the pain away... Ookami feels a haze descend upon his thoughts, his mind feels slow...like he's been drinking. Rothen's words begin to make sense to him.
