New Chat Board!!
Here is a place to discuss anything to do with TV and radio. Also a good place for readers of "TV Hell" to chat. I'm still tinkering with the color scheme of this - let me know if it's readable on your screen. Enjoy! :smokin

At Last !!!
Outstanding! Very pleased to see that you got a chance to get the long-promised BB up and running (and, just as I was commenting about it in the Mailbag).

I'll try to come up with something informative (or, at the very least "snarky") to get the party started, in a bit. For the moment, I just wanted to see how this works.

Quite elaborate is this board (good show!)! Reminds me of the one on Cinescape, with the animated emoticons and all that. This should be *fun*, and should (hopefully) take some of the load off of the Mailbag for you.

Look! I even kept it "clean" :hat (I always do, except for the occaisional double-entendre or obscure reference) LOL!

Thanks for the extra effort, and good luck with The Media World's newes feature! I shall contribute as appropriate and/or have something interesting to say (I hope!).

Very truly yours,

Steve

About the Board (in reply to your reply in Mailbag)
Oh, *this* board will do nicely, I think!:smokin

I only mentioned DiscServer because of my personal experience with it, for over three years. This board has all the features I would want, and more --- I should be able to do the quote-back from the bottom of the page, per usual select/copy/paste with the right-hand mouse button.

I only wish you had this up when we were getting down to the wire, a month or so ago, with the end of the 2002-2003 season!:evil

Let the sarcastic sniping (and the occaisional proper respects and "mourning"/bemoaning) begin! TV Hell is alive!

"It's alive! It's ALIVE! . . ." (Yes, I stole that from Little Steve Van Zandt's Underground Garage, which in turn stole it from "Frankenstein", of course :p )

In re the Colour-Scheme!
Ooops! Forgot to mention: The blue-on-yellow is fine!
Has "impact", but yet not so hard on the eyes as red-on-black, or the interesting but over-used "alien" green-on-black.

Way too many "X-Files" sites use that, although I cut Mike Marek the "slack", because his "X-Files Timeline" is the finest Mythology ref on the Net, bar none :D !

Back this evening --- we'll see what's cookin' !

Okay, a couple of "tweaks" are in order, here :-)
I'm getting my e-mail notifications just fine, but the board is responding to *my* posts, not any posts to me (duhhh! There aren't any, yet!)

What I mean is that, although I am posting to the original message at the top, I am getting notifications as though I had replied to my *own* message. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think so (I've done a tad bit of posting, on that other board I told you about ;) ; I'm pretty "experienced" and net-savvy).

Also: Is it possible to make the e-mail notifications have an *active* link in them? I can copy-and-paste to the URL window just fine, but it would be a nice convenience if the e-mail's link back to the board was "functional", i.e. "clickable", directly.

I ordinarily don't have any problem with active links in e-mail, in spite of the fact that I am a user of the much-maligned AOL :\ (wrongly so, IMHO), so it isn't a question of my e-mail "not permitting a link" --- it does so just fine, if the sending board is configured that way!

Otherwise, as I said, good show! Hope you get a lot of hits off of this. Works great!

It is, indeed!
Hello, Eric!

"I like it. I also have nothing clever to say......"

I'm just checking it out, and getting warmed up. I'm thinking of doing something really stupid, stating that, say, "Greg the Bunny" was the greatest show of all time, or something, just to get the ball :rollin .

I know such a manifestly absurd assertion would at least draw the ire of the webmaster *chuckle!*, and then he (they?) could play, too! ;)

The big trick, I think, is probably going to be either a) "calling someone out" (which I am loathe to do --- I'm a nice guy [mostly]), or b) writing a reply to someone seeking info in the Mailbag, and suggesting that they come over here for a more complete reply.

So far, so good, though --- this just went on-line *today*, and it's working decently enough for me, subject to the above (it is acting weird and notifying me of my *own* posts, etc.). I received notification of *your* post just fine, though, so mostly this is "there". Very cool board, with lots of options, again, reminding me of Cinescape's or The Haven's boards.

So, my friend, it falls to *you* --- what is the most worthy member of TV Hell, IYNSHO ? :lol

I nominate "Watching Ellie", but I'm prejudiced because I never did "get" the "Seinfeld" style of humour (I also don't care for David Letterman, who I *wish* was in TV Hell). Must be an "anti-New-York" gene that I have --- like the Webmaster, I am very much sickened by the idea that TV seems to think there are only *two* cities in the US, NYC and LA.

In the immortal words of "Alexander de Large": "What's it going to be, then, eh?" :smokin

Welcome aboard! Let's see who/what turns up!:eek

Maybe something's messed up because you aren't registered? Just a guess, I really have no idea. Really you should register, though, otherwise anyone could post using your name.
