New RAs : Shadowblades
[Note: In order to foster communication and organization within our Safehouse community I am going to take the initiative to divide up some threads. In your class area discuss: "New class specific" issues, issues associated with the loss or generalization of your previous abilities and how the other realm's classes and stealthers may affect you - positively or negatively. Feel free to post in other's threads- no one is excluded from discussions.]

Just trying to help us all out,:)

Re: New RAs : Shadowblades
One question I have for those of you who are awesome at the "behind the scenes mathmatical equations" is:

Regarding the removal of dodger:

Won't this effectively nerf Norse SBs and to a lesser effect Kobold SBs? I'm thinking it will.

Re: New RAs : Shadowblades
It may hit them pretty hard.....and just imagine what the hit will be for even an unbuffed elf or luri. With dodger I was closer to the rate of what I was always fighting all I can see is alot more pain from this

Re: New RAs : Shadowblades
I have not seen anybody conclusively show what the evade rate is for buffed and unbuffed per race with Evade VII. The only data I have seen posted is speculation at best in my opinion. Once that information is known we'll know for sure how beneficial dodger really is for assassins. Most seem to believe Dodger 2 with moderate buffs is sufficient.

I definatly like the idea behind the Shadowblade unique ability Shadow Strike gained free at RR5. To me it places the SB closer to that assassin role if it will work with Vanish. It will be even more intresting to see how they change Perforate Artery first, and the base damage done by Shadowblades wielding a 2-handed weapon.

As far as what I think about the new RA's in general is that some of them seem more logical in how they will work in the whole scheme of things. With the base concept of Frontiers out I can see these RA's making the zerg fighting last longer. On the other hand, some of them are ludicrous and others will still be useless in my opinion. Of course this list will change so until it's final thats how I feel about the newly proposed RA changes.

Zarlaan - Cougar did alot of testing on dodger while he was a regular figure on this board. search back through older posts on the board and you may find exactly what you are looking for.

Re: ...
I like the idea of a ranged perf. The idea, in a vacuum, looks good on paper.

However, considering that by the time these go in, most lvl 50s out there will have their fair share of Artifacts (many of which give RA-like abilities) and then all the RR5s will also get free RAs that maybe they bought before. The end result will be that most targets will have RAs that extend their life as a passive -- instead of perhaps sacrificing defence for offence in today's dynamic.

So, when every group out there has some level of BoF, some level of health battery, increased levels of heal efficiency and heal cast speed... well, targets are just getting harder to drop. I shouldn't even have to mention Bodyguard... man this one is a nightmare -- Perf should bypass Bodyguard.

The concept of the SB RA is neat, granted, but in the group dynamic, it just gets you killed quicker -- now you can perf in to the middle of the group only to still not be able to drop the caster (slow 2H'r, 75% LA main-hand, body-guard, insta-heals, spreads) before your target is healed, you're slammed/QC-stunned and then nuked down.

It seems to benifit the solo SB yet not improve the SBs ability in how it performs in a group or helps the group achieve it's goals.

Re: ...
I have no idea bout this, but it takes 10 secs to "hide in the shadows" and then perf, I wonder if we see anyone with hastner speed will we be able to perf them before they are out of range?

Just wondering how useful this will be in reality? and hopefully we won't unstealth if the target is out of range? And can we move while we try and "hide in the shadows" because most peole never run right at me? Just wondering a few things and it seems that there could be some issues that could make or break this. MOS + Shadowstrike where I can move is MUCH greater than having to stand still.

I guess I'll have to wait and see.
