O-Town Own Billboard Chart
"Liquid Dreams" Tops On Sales Chart

O-Town had some sweet news for the audience when they performed at TEEN PEOPLE's Style Jam last Thursday: the group's debut single, "Liquid Dreams," entered the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales charts at #1. More than 42,000 people picked up a copy of the priced-to-move single (the CD cost $1.99; the tape cost $.99), making "Liquid Dreams" the first-ever debut single from a new act to enter the charts at #1. It also marks the first time a new label had its first single debut at the top of the charts. O-Town is the first act to come out on J Records, the new label helmed by Clive Davis -- who brought the world mega-acts like Prince, Santana and Whitney Houston.

On top of their stellar sales debut, the guys also made a not-too-shabby entrance at #21 on the Hot 100 chart (which reflects a combination of sales and airplay). Will O-Town's album, due out on January 23, enjoy such success... or will the Making the Band guys have to keep dreaming? Stay tuned.
