My PC power supply seems to be failing me. The voltage has dropped to 11.3 volts (read as input voltage by the charger) from 12.3 volts.
My charger does not like the low volts and beeps with a low input voltage warning.
Any ideas as to what might be happening??
Thanks.

output too low?
Check out the load resistor you installed on the 5Volt side (red wires). It sounds like it may be open circuited. Typically without it in circuit you will get about 11.5 volts out on the yellow (12Volt) wires.

Re: output too low?
Roy, I just checked the race results from yesterday. I think 11.3 volts is plenty for your charger.
I will check the resistor tonight if I have time. I have to ship a box to Italy via UPS.
How can a resistor go bad that quickly?? It probably had less than 45 minutes of use on it totally! Should I get a more robust resistor if there is such an animal??
power supply
I checked out the load resistor and I believe you were right Murray. It appears that I left the leads too long and one was probably grounding out on the frame. After some wire twisting and some insulation, the power supply is back in business. Thanks for the direction Murray. I owe you a beer!!
You will have to collect the award at the next post race Hanger flying session.

Good job! Since you haven't actually let any smoke out of it yet-it's still working You only re-directed the smoke for a time.
