Email Address: final.ultimatum@gmail.com
Your Name: Rei
Code: Buckbeak
IC
Full Name: Panthera Lupus
Nickname(s): Pan, Lupe, The Panther
DOB: Unknown
Blood Type: Pureblood
Previous School/House: Pan attended Durmstrang.
Occupation: Death Eater, Founder and owner of Lupus Enterprises
Physical Appearance:
Panthera is a fairly tall and intimidating man, standing at 6’ 2”. His body is strong and muscular, though he isn’t overly muscled and appears more lithe and elegant than stocky and built. His skin is on the tanner side from both his ethnicity as well as the various business he has been known to take to both exotic places as well as normal, civilized cities. For the most part, Pan’s skin remains flawless despite the many battles and duels he’s been involved in, though he, of course, has the Dark Mark burned into his left forearm. The mark only shows when he is being summoned, but after Voldemort’s death, it seems to neither burn as much nor show as dark as it used to.
Even though he looks considerably younger than he is, age seems to be finally catching up with Pan. He isn’t as handsome and rugged as he used to be, the gray hairs imminent in his once silky locks and wrinkles beginning to appear on his powerful face. His movements aren’t as fluid and graceful as they had been decades ago and the eyes of all the young females no longer watch his every move. Yet, there is an air of importance and sophistication that floats around him, still having such poise and good posture, that even when he is trying to remain inconspicuous he tends to catch people’s attentions. His clothes seem to help with that, though, for he takes pride in his sense of style and it shows clearly. Pan has a thing for good, expensive clothing and is never seen wearing anything that isn’t brand name and customized. Most of his clothing is tailored just for him and fits perfectly on his body as if the piece of cloth was a part of him, not simply something he wears. The man always looks presentable and sophisticated, as if he is constantly expecting to get his picture taken and even during those rare moments when he is caught wearing something remotely casual, he seems to have a way of making it stylish and perfect, like he could have walked into a ballroom that very moment and be the center of attention.
Along with his movements, his facial features seemed to be aging as well. Yet Pan’s bright amber eyes seem as alive and young as ever, always open and eager. They seem to reflect the wisdom and experience he’s gained over the many years, though at times, they can reflect the somewhat ruthless and animalistic nature of his wrath. He just has such a strong presence and the expression on his face is always so sure and calm, as if he could read the very thoughts of whoever stands in front of him and nothing in the world could surprise him. That knowing, temperate smile is always on his visage and he radiates such a sense of assurance that it can’t help but be noticed.
In his animagus form, Pan is a black panther, sleek and powerful, with eyes of liquid amber. His aging has not seemed to effect his animal form at all and his movements are perfectly fluid and there isn’t a gray hair on his pure black coat. Like his human form, Pan is on the larger side for a panther, though this doesn’t seem to restrict his actions at all. His large paws are padded and armed with sharp retractable claws that can certainly do some damage. Pan’s teeth are just as dangerous as well and put together with his powerful jaw, he is able to easily snap a man’s neck in two or rip out his throat. Pan’s panther body is extremely fit and his muscles can be seen rippling beneath his coat as he walks. The muscles in his body can help him leap long distances, run faster than any human, and climb trees to launch an assault from above. Pan enjoys his panther form at on occasion, will reside in this form during Death Eater meetings, sitting calmly next to Lord Maleham.
Personality:
For even those who have known him for a long time, Pan is a very hard person to understand. Most people would describe him as an enigma, and it is true by all means, although he is not at all brooding or mysterious in that sense. In fact, he enjoys conversing quite a bit, though he never overdoes things. Most of the time, the conversation he strikes up is just small and pleasant, having no particular importance to anything. Pan is quite good at avoiding important conversations, though he never runs away from his duties. He just prefers to keep a low profile and doesn’t go around boasting about his position among the Death Eaters and if someone doesn’t recognize him, he’ll usually manage to fail to mention the fact he is who he is, just to blend in with the people and remain inconspicuous until further notice. Pan is a very observant being, after all, and he is particularly interested in observing people, Muggles and wizards alike, in their everyday lives and he finds that with the introduction of a superior being, their attitudes and such change, thus the reason he likes to be incognito most of the time. Of course, this doesn’t mean he’s afraid of revealing his status, for he isn’t at all. If anyone tries to one him up, he has no problem taking off the veil and teaching a lesson that that being isn’t likely to forget. Pan is an extremely dangerous person to mess with and isn’t a one to be wanted as an enemy. He has a way of stripping everything from someone and to him, that is revenge. Death is letting them escape with what they did. But letting them live with absolutely nothing, that is the real revenge.
When Pan isn’t wandering around in disguise, he is the second in command of the Death Eaters (aka Lord Maleham’s left hand man) and thus is a very intelligent and calculating person. He gives good advice, but at times it isn’t to the taste of the person he is giving the advice to. This doesn’t vex him at all, though, for Pan doesn’t believe people have to listen to him. He believes everyone always has a choice and that they control their own fate, though if he wants something particular to occur, he has no problem manipulating people to do his every whim. Insults are a completely different thing, though. Pan doesn’t take them lightly and his flaring rage can and will be unleashed if someone pushes him too far. Most of the time, though, he keeps his emotions in check and is quite calm and temperate, even during tense situations. Pan has a way of remaining aloof and sagely, as if he always has a plan and everything was going just as he had wanted it. Of course, he isn’t one to stick his foot into anything that isn’t his business and even when it has to do with the Death Eaters, he doesn’t always jump to gain control. As an the second in command, Pan doesn’t have direct and complete control over the Death Eaters, after all, and is simply there to offer his help to Lord Maleham. He likes to remain in the background and prefers to do things by manipulating others instead of digging in to get his own hands dirty. Pan likes to do things with the least amount of intrusion as possible, just to keep things orderly and clean. He prefers not to have too much conflict amongst the Death Eaters, or amongst anyone, for that matter.
As the founder of the Lupus Enterprises, Pan has to remain controlled, though he is still fairly compassionate, though he doesn’t often show that. He cares greatly for others, though he will never let any personal relations get in the way of his duties. Pan is very serious when it comes to his responsibilities and it can be said that in that manner, he is very ruthless. Nothing seems to faze the Pan and he when he has a job to do, he will be completely focused on that and will not allow any interruptions. Pan has a way of looking from point A straight to point B without allowing any emotions getting in the way of things. He finds it silly to let feelings get in the way of completing something, though he doesn’t condemn it, knowing that it is in the nature of sentient beings to care for others and allow their emotions to get the better of them. Pan simply has had much time to put a lid on his emotions and only allow them to escape when the time for them comes. He is a guarded individual and when he doesn’t want others to know what he’s thinking or show them what he’s feeling, he won’t. He believes people have enough to worry about without having to put their worries on another being, especially one who is perfectly capable of caring for himself.
History:
The exact year of Panthera's birth is unknown and Panthera himself prefers not to speak of it. But the man is quite older than he appears, unbeknownst to most. His family was a pureblooded family, but neither very respectable nor very rich. In fact, the family was quite poor and Pan's parents barely made enough money for them to stay in their little cottage in Ireland. The boy never really cared much for their parents though, despite their undying love for him. He respected them, but he too smart for things such as love and refused to attach himself to these people who had brought him into the world. From the start, Pan never was naïve and hardly innocnet. He had always been very intelligent and calculating, his nose buried in books or outside, watching the skies as if scrying for something. This unnatural intelligence and thirst for knowledge was the reason that Pan ended up attending Durmstrang instead of going to Hogwarts as his parents had. The two thought he would receive a better education at Durmstrang, though it had a darker reputation than Hogwarts. But even at that school, Pan was never really challenged; everything was just so simple to him. He could cast spells in his second year that seventh years struggled to achieve and spent his hours reading ahead of the rest of his classmates and looking down on them for their inferiority. Pan soon grew quite bored with everything and spent quite a bit of his time making his own things. While the rest of his class bought tricks and objects from stores, Pan had taken to creating his own. Of course, the Dark Arts always kept the boy quite interested. Durmstrang taught their students much about the Dark Arts, and that was where Pan excelled in the most.
After graduating from Durmstrang at the top of his class, Pan turned away form his family, even going as far as to drop his last name. He then adopted the surname Lupus and never returned to his home in Ireland. He never knew what happened to his parents, nor did he particularly care. Instead, he set off into the world, traveling and experimenting. Pan was an entrepreneur and had little fear of failure. He put his talent of creating things to the test and soon founded a small company he named Lupus Corp. Of course, his small business soon grew as people began to discover just how talented this young businessman was. He was offered many jobs, but Pan turned them all down, despising the idea of having to work under someone else. Instead, he continued with his business, which steadily grew, and he eventually changed the name to Lupus Enterprises. Lupus Enterprises became a complete success and sold things from gobstones all the way to brooms. If the object was magical and had magical properties, Lupus Enterprises had it. Soon, every store had at least one product that had been created by Lupus Enterprises. They were known for their quality supplies as well as the most original and up to date. This led to Pan becoming very rich at a fairly young age.
Despite all the money he made, Pan wasn’t at all satisfied. He wanted, no, needed something more to invest his time and skill in. Pan was still young, lively, and vigorous. Although he had already made a name for himself, he wanted to make sure everyone remembered his name. He wanted something more. During this time, there were whispers of a man named Voldemort who was rising to power and becoming a threat to the Ministry. People shuddered at his name and his name was always spoken in a low murmur. People were afraid and restless and it peaked Pan’s interest. At first, he didn’t think too much of it, thinking it was just some kind of bluff, but he soon found how wrong he had been. This Voldemort was gathering followers to him fast and Pan wasn’t about to be left out. He watched Voldemort’s progression and found himself eager to join the ranks. His knowledge of the Dark Arts was already quite extensive after his education at Durmstrang plus his own learning and Pan thought he would make a great asset to the Dark Lord. Pan soon found himself looking for anyone who was connected to Voldemort and was eventually approached by a man by the name of Dolohov, Voldemort’s main recruiter. The two had barely begun to discuss the terms when Pan readily agreed, his youth and eagerness getting the better of him. Dolohov obviously wasn’t going to deny the young man, and Pan was soon admitted into the Death Eater ranks.
As soon as the Dark Mark was burned into his arm, Pan realized how permanent becoming a Death Eater really was, though he got over the initial shock quite quickly; he was not afraid of commitment after all. As he’d grown, Pan no longer felt so disgusted at being under someone else and had discovered he could learn from those that were above him. Thus he followed orders without hesitation or a second thought and could have been considered one of Voldemort’s most loyal and helpful followers. Not only did Pan do whatever he was told, he did with precision and accuracy that could be achieved by few others. His already extensive knowledge on the Dark Arts grew, which made him a great contender among the Death Eaters in Voldemort’s inner circle. Voldemort also kept Pan close at his side due to the fact Lupus Enterprises was still flourishing and Pan was no short of money at all. He was able to invest much into the needs of the Death Eaters, buying whatever they needed to continue their progression to gain dominion over the wizarding world. But then, disaster struck and Voldemort fell at the hands of the infant wizard Harry Potter. Pan’s life aside from the Death Eaters was not at all effected by the fall of the Dark Lord, but he was still a loyal follower of his lord and he would continue Voldemort’s legacy and achieve what he wanted to achieve. Pan kept a low profile for a while, keeping in touch with only a few of the Death Eaters that had not been captured. He knew better than to be as brash as the Lestranges and run to find the nearest Auror and attempt t torture information out of them to the point of insanity. No, Pan knew that if Voldemort was still alive, he would be a greater asset free than within the walls of Azkaban. So for a while, Pan simply worked his company and waited for a moment to rise up again.
The second rise of the Dark Lord was like a reawakening for Pan. The familiar feeling of the Dark Mark burning into his flesh sent him immediately to the feet of his master. He was, of course, punished for not going out to search for his lord, but Pan was welcomed back into the circle of Death Eaters nonetheless. Being older and less active, Pan wasn’t involved in much of the going-ons as he had been before. The younger, more energetic new recruits were the ones to be sent on missions that involved physical activity. But Pan continued to support the Dark Lord with money and supplies. Lupus Enterprises even developed an underground branch in which they create and distributed Dark Magic items. The company was growing as rapidly as Voldemort’s influence and Pan was right there to experience both. But just as it seemed everything had reached the pinnacle of success, things plummeted. Voldemort once again fell at the hands of Harry Potter and this time, he was not coming back. The prophecy had been fulfilled and the Boy Who Lived had finally slain Lord Voldemort; everything seemed to come to a stand still and a peace spread across wizarding Europe. This, of course, was not completely true. Though many of the Death Eaters had been imprisoned in Azkaban, there were many of them still running around, afraid and vengeful. All they needed was someone to bring them together and they could prove to dominant once more.
Pan was always ready for the job, but someone else stepped up before him: a man by the name of Lucifer Maleham. He believed, since birth, that he was the true heir of Voldemort and thus the spot as lord of the Death Eaters was his for the taking. Normally, Pan would have found a way to somehow dethrone the imposter, but he soon found that this Maleham was all talk. He had no outstanding skills or real power and could be easily manipulated, which could work well to Pan’s advantage. Thus he allowed Maleham to rule and fed his ego to make him all the more unsuspecting. Maleham seemed determined to either ressurect Voldemort or take the power for himself. Because of this determination, he decided to concoct a potion that would transfer a great deal of Voldemort’s power to himself. Of course, to create this potion, some of Voldemort’s ashes was necessary, but they were locked away in the Department of Mysteries where no Death Eater could touch them. Maleham, not having any strategically skills, found himself incapable of figuring out a way to go in a steal the potion, thus he turned to Pan. Pan gladly accepted the challenge of getting his hands on the ashes and did so with amazing ease. But he didn’t give the ashes right away to Maleham. Instead he demanded an exchange for them and told Maleham that if he wished to have the ashes, he would have to make Pan his wing man; his second in command. Maleham readily agreed and greedily took the ashes into his hands.
Pan watched with amusement as Maleham concocted the potion with complete ignorance and horrible potion skills, thus producing a failed potion. Maleham, of course, didn’t know this and drank the potion, which did absolutely nothing. But being so full of himself, Maleham believed he now possessed the powers of Lord Voldemort and named himself the next Dark Lord. Maleham then got Pan to hide the rest of the ashes away in the old Riddle House so that if he needed more of the ashes, they would be accessible. Pan continued to serve Maleham’s whim, though with much disgust, and soon began to formulate his own plot of taking over. He would slowly tip Maleham off his throne that he wouldn’t realize what hit him once he was off.
