Playing in the Forest (IC locked)
Jumping from tree to tree Yakoutio made his path across the forest quite easily, he had perfected this quite a while ago and now could easily figure out which branch would support his weight and which would simply be used for swinging on. He grabbed onto a quite flexible branch and used it to swing around a few times in order to drop onto a sturdier branch underneath him. It wobbled up and down for a bit but he kept his balance easily enough. From here Yakoutio could see quite far around the place, though there wasn’t much around on the forest floor and looking up into the sun hurt his eyes. He jumped forwards and landed on a lower branch, closer to the ground, it was here when he saw it. A deer was eating grass close by, it seemed a little startled by the noises but didn’t run away, it just looked around, surveyed the area before retuning to its grazing. Yakoutio giggled and hopped up and down with his hands close to his face before jumping forwards and landing on the ground next to the deer signalling for it to run forwards at top speed. Yakoutio gave chase, leaping from side to side over every piece of vegetation that got in his way, still with the same gleeful smile of his face.

“Come back deer I just want to be friends!” Yakoutio cheered happily as he darted across the forest, finally bounding across up and over the deer and landing in front of it however the deer easily jumped straight over Yakoutio, landing behind him. Yakoutio turned around slowly as he watched the deer run off into the background, why did those things always run away when he chased them?

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
Nessa had been walking slowly, looking around the forest. She had heard that there was a beautiful waterfall on the other side, and had always wanted to see one, elegantly splashing sparkling water into a lake, churning the water in a torrent of energy and life. She had begun at school, crossed the meadow quite easily, and found her way to the forest... And now she wasn't quite sure where she was, but she figured that if she kept on walking in the same direction, she'd eventually reach ... well, somewhere.

She was quite sure about that... And what was the worst thing that could happen? This was a peaceful forest... right? Wasn't it? But ... she had heard recently that there had been strange sightings, visions of monsters that came out of nowhere and destroyed everything in their path. She slowly became worried, and quickened her pace.

Suddenly, a pair of flashes went by, so quickly that she froze in her tracks so as not to be run over. Too quickly to see, too fast to be sure what they were, she felt the world jar and turn... were these two the beasts that had been talked about? She tried to calm herself a little, and think rationally about it, but unfortunately her mind was all a-whirl with the thoughts of the monsters that might lurk behind every tree.

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
Yakoutio sat down and contemplated on what exactly he had seen… Apparently… Deer’s did not like to be chased. Yakoutio would have to remember to note that fact down for later reference. Also that if he wished to catch one he would require some form of net, or at least a box propped up with a stick. But how would he get bait to put underneath the box, maybe he could go ask that person he passed on the way here.

“Hey do you have any food I could use?!”

Yakoutio burst out of the bushes behind Nessa yelling the question at the top of his lungs before tripping on a loose root on the floor and falling head over heels onto the ground bellow and skidding forwards until slamming into a tree stump. He turned over and shook his head around to get rid of the dizzy feeling it caused to hit the tree but then he felt something fall into his lap. A beehive had been knocked out of the tree and had landed on his lap. Yakoutio’s eyes were open wide in sudden fear and so he jumped upwards and hurled the beehive away from him at top speed. It travelled through the trees and off into the distance, becoming a black dot in the sky and disappearing with a little sparkle.

“There… stupid bee’s” He laughed happily afterwards.

Moving through the forest, Merciah moves swiftly as he travels from one spot to another. He moves quickly tracking a pack of animals. The are like a mix between a wolf and sleek dogs. There fur low against there body giving them a sheered appearence.

They move as a group. All reacting to everything around them. A true pack of hunters as they know where their pack always is. There are seven of them in all, as they move towards their next prey as a coordinated pack of hunters.

Suddenly they stop, and Merciah hears it and stops just as quickly. Seeing their prey, they seperatepreading out as they slowly encircle that which they are hunting. Having circled their prey they attack.

It isn't what you would expect form an attack of animals, they start yapping. From all around Ness and Yakoutio the sounds can be heard as they slowly move in. Closing the cicle tighter on their prey untill they can finally be seen for what they are.

This is where I put my random thoughts. :)

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
So startled was she by Yakoutio's sudden cry that Nessa fell backwards, landing hard on her butt. She rubbed it furtively, trying to get the pain to go away quickly while wanting to cry. First the fears in her head nearly overwhelm her, and now this boy that tormented her once before comes running towards her while screaming at the top of his voice, scaring her half to death? This simply wasn't her day. She slowly got herself up, and ducked once more as the beehive flew above her head. This really wasn't her day.

"You... you are..." she mumbled a few times, looking at the boy, head cocked a little to the side as she wondered to herself what he was doing here, and why he threw a beehive in her direction. Well, she wouldn't stand for it anymore! She turned around, half angrily... only to face something much worse.

A pack of snarling dog-like creatures closed in on her an Yakoutio, coming slowly closer in an ever-tightening circle. An instinctive hand reached out blindly toward someone close--Yakoutio, the only one who was near. Sure, he had humiliated her, shaming her by making her turn into Ness while in a dress, but at least she was fairly sure he would not rip her to pieces... unlike the dogs that closed in on the duo.

Nessa grabbed Yakoutio for support? Had Yakoutio have known that maybe he could have actually acted more supportive, in the actual plan of things however Yakoutio had indeed reached outwards and grabbed Nessa for support as well. The moment she grabbed him as well he also grabbed her with his second hand and pulled himself close into her, he hated dogs and these things were just, much worse. He wanted to act strong and protective for Nessa, when he had done the first time she had been unconscious, but this time when he had a perfect chance to do so while she was not he felt himself completely rooted to the ground. Why did he always end up having this happen to him? Normally, had it been humans he would managed to do something but demons and monsters, in any shape or form, simply terrified him.

“Don’t let them get me,” Yakoutio sobbed as he buried his head into Nessa for comfort and to hide his tears, “I hate monsters don’t let them get me!”

((ooc: Yakoutio has allways been scared of monsters an demons ^^ ))

Rayd had been training in the forest, perfecting his fighting abilities and learning new forms and techniques. In the past, Rayd's hand-to-hand abilities were average, though his constant training, less of the physical, and more of the mental, has really lifted his skill level greatly.

Suddenly Rayd stops his training and turns, looking over his sunglasses, his iris and pupils returning as Rayd looks through the trees to see a circle of creatures, surround two people, one of which he recognised.

"Isn't that, the smart ass brat? Not so tough now are ya?"

Rayd's vision then turned to a tree branch above them, and suddenly, Rayd was perched on top of it, looking directly down at the circle below. Rayd stopped for a moment and sighed.

"I guess I could help them out... Dunno, how greatful the kid would be though."

Rayd launched himself into the air, landing in the middle of the circle. This had surprised the creatures who backed off slightly.

Rayd looked at the creatures using his powers, giving himself a birds eye view of the circle, making sure the creatures behind them didn't try and make a move.

He stood tall, 6'3, with a muscular build, the scars on his chest and back clearly visible as is the flame tattoo circling his left bicep due to the lack of a shirt, with his lower half covered by jet black pants and shoes.

"Try not to make your fear so obvious. It's not helping."

Rayd said as he removed his sunglasses and pocketed them, preparing for anything these creatures might try. He knew they were pack hunters as he had seen them in previous training sessions in the forrest, although he had never found himself having to fight them, he had a pretty good idea of how creatures like this attack.

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
Merciah Is watching the creatures, not sure how to proceed. He's observed these creatures attack other animals, and knew they weren't going to be easy to surprise. The sudden appearence of Rayd though was something I am sure none expected. The creatures surrounding the group acted in kind. They moved appearing as though they were surprised. But as Merciah watched, they weren't surprised, they simply moved as a perfect group. Conforming themselves to attack Rayd aswell as the other two. He placed himself inside their area of attack and they simply changed to compensate for more prey.

Merciah hadn't noticed before, but as he slowly creeps closer to the animals they are actually all quite large. Standing the size of a small horse, about 4 and a half feet tall (1.5meters) at there shoulders while on all fours. They continue yapping as they seem to inclose on there prey.

Merciah spots one from the other side of the circle looking directly at him as he encloses on the group of predators. It still encloses on the three in the middle even though it looks at him. Stooping his movement Merciah looks at all of the other creatures. Good, it's the only one that noticed him. And so he reacts.

Then they stop. The beasts all start howling, the sound is a peircing howl that reaches to the deepes of their souls. It brings forth everything that the four students near them would keep hidden and locked away as their deepes and darkest of fears. There will s alone might be enough to hold them from cowering, but it is enough to stun them for just that split second that they need.

How he doesn't know, they hadn't even known he was there, they couldn't smell him, he was upwind, and they couldn't here him, he was just behind the sounds he made, so they would have reacted to the sound to late. No, they some how knew he was there and attacked him just as he moved to retaliate. Two of the creatures were on him as though they knew he were there the whole time. They knew exactly where he was as though they had been watching him, and not the other beast.

Two of the creatures going for Rayd, one from behind and the other from the front. One goes for Nessa, and another for Yakoutio. The last one stands back and waits before making a move, perhaps the alpha male.

Merciah finds himself in trouble. Even with his quick speed, these creatures themselves aren't slow. One going for Merciah's waist, the other for his head. Though Merciah isn't the only one in trouble.the creature coming at Rayd from behind moves through the air, brandishing it's sharp claws and swipping at Rayds back. The one in front of him diving at him with it's full weight. Yakoutio has a creature coming through the air at him from in front, and Nessa has a beast moving from behind. That last one that was waiting.

It has moved now. Just half a second after the rest. It comes at Rayd, the largest and perhaps the most formidable of their prey. This one comes from the side, opposite of Nessa and Yakoutio. Its jaws agape and looking for Rayd's throat.

If there were noone there, this circle that the beasts had created would collapse into a small pile colliding in the middle. As there movements bring them all together, and this seems to be the plan. Their prey the exact center of there attack. Covering all angles for escape, and preventing Merciah to be able to attack any that move towards the trio of students surrounded.

This is where I put more of my random thoughts. :)

Has everyone heard, there have been attacks in the forest. More and more students are showing up in Mrs Hanabishi's ward by the day. What's going on. It's the talk of the school.

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
Nessa feels her head clouding for a moment as fear, so deep and strong that it might sweep the unaware away, fills her mind. The fear of these foreign animals hurting her... And then the moment is gone. A flash of darkness, and she's swept away into another world by her mind...

A darkness illuminated as flashes of blue and orange run through the darkness. Nessa feels herself following them, running with them after some hidden prey, an unfamiliar urge of hunger, to rip apart, destroy, and finally eat some prey that continued to try to elude them. More than that, this was a game; the prey continued to run, run, but knew by itself that it would never get away, that at the end it would be torn to shreds, its inner organs eaten while it lay screaming on the ground, totally aware of the agony it was going through. The taste of expectant blood, hot and metallic, filled Nessa's mouth as she anticipated the biting, chewing, hurting, destroying, defiling of another sentient being. Closer, closer they came, and then Nessa leaped towards the thing...

Another flash, and Nessa was back in her own body, while less than a moment had passed by in this world. She wanted to retch badly, cleanse herself in some way of this evil feeling that tainted her body, something that would purify every cell, regenerating it anew so that she would not have the memories of these experiences. Unfortunately, she had more important things to think about as the things closed in, ready to charge.

Nessa knew she had no time to think, no time to do anything except survive; and to do so, she would have to React with another person, lend her power to them. Something so personal, so intimate... she wished that there was someone other than this boy next to her to do it with, someone who she wasn't sure she trusted. But in this case, survival and necessity were far more important than whims; if they survived this, then they might be able to sort the aftermath out.

Nessa's hands grasped Yakoutio's, fingers intertwining as she gave herself to the Reaction. A poem echoed around them, a poem of their bonding and contract to protect each other.

On an ephemeral evening, I tell a story to my friend
Reflected behind my closed eyelids is a sweet field
Dauntless, I embrace you lovingly; I am together with you
Out of love, I forge a pact with you
My feelings will envelop you
You and I will be together wherever we go
The heart of red will be enfolded in wind and forge the contract

As this poem echoed around them, a sudden aura incased both of them, and Nessa was slowly lifted into the air, raising up Yakoutio's arms slightly as she disappeared. Ephemeral hands caressed his arm, leaving behind an outline of a strange sword that attached--no, grafted even--to Yakoutio's arm as they travelled around his body with the gentlest of touches. Yakoutio felt suddenly a burst of power come from within himself--no, from this entity that had taken a place in his heart and soul, and he suddenly felt his energy boost, skyrocket as it had never done before, new energy and life fill his limbs.

Picture of the transformation.

The sword on his arm shifted slightly, and he could feel the strength inherent in it, though it weighed as much as the rest of his body which allowed him to freely move it as naturally as if it was part of his own body. It was a strange sword, complete with a barrel and trigger next to his hand, and he knew instinctively that it could both fire energy-filled rounds, as well as give a shockwave that could rip apart molecules if the trigger was pulled hard at exactly the right moment... something that wouldn't happen without a lot of practice. On the other hand, he felt as though he had practiced with the sword-and-gun combination for years, and knew intuitively how and where to cut for maximal damage.

"This might be a little sudden, but save the questions for after we survive, alright?" echoed the words in his mind as an ephemeral Nessa appeared over his shoulder, only arms, shoulders, neck, and head showing, though clearly naked, wearing none of her previous clothes.

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
Yakoutio wasn’t paying much attention to what Nessa was doing up until the point where he was surrounded by a gigantic aura, he could feel power within him, the knowledge to use it, but it was too much. Words and emotions of the three of them would be mixed into one state of mind.

“Don’t let those things get me!”
"This might be a little sudden.”
“This is certainly unexpected.”
“What’s happening? I don’t get it.”
“Save the questions for after we survive.”
“This is… interesting.”
“I can’t focus. What’s going on?”
“Alright?"

“Most defiantly.”

The last words were said aloud as Yakoutio’s eyes misted over to black, a smirk appearing on his face. At that the aura surrounding the two slowly began shifting to a curtain of darkness, the ghostly image of Nessa becoming one and the same along with the new transformation the three were creating. Pythosius closed his eyes and snickered to himself, this sort of power was certainly impressive and it was only fair that he get to test it out first before anybody else. He would hear the sound of one of the beasts leaping into the air beside him in attack. At this Pytho darted to the side with a sudden burst of speed and accuracy, turning into a blur and lashing out with his newfound sword. Pytho would stop some ten meters away from the dog, the dog was be hit by the sword blade and landed on the ground before spinning around on the spot to face Pytho, who wasn’t looking at it. The dog growled viciously before stumbling around dizzily and falling limp, a pool of blood collecting underneath it. Pytho snickered cruelly as he glanced over his shoulder to the wounded animal.

“Oh curses.” He sighed, “I missed.”

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
Rayd watched the creatures carefully, waiting for them to make their move when suddenly, they attacked, and Rayd was ready, for whatever they threw at him. Two attackers, one from in front of him, and one from behind, easily dodged. Though just when Rayd was about to make his move, the larger one attacked. Rayd had to think quick, and now he had the others to worry about. If Rayd moved, there was no doubt that they would then be in the creature's path.

In a split second, Rayd had decided on how he would move, and he knew everything had to happen within another split second. Rayd turned and stepped back in a fluent motion, the two attacking from in front, and behind were now at his left and right and the larger one was now directly in front of him.

Rayd quickly stepped to his right, barely dodging a snap from the creature whose head was now right in front of him. Rayd then quickly jumped up, his fist connecting with the creatures face, before his foot was raised, sending the creature in the path of the Alpha Male... Luckily, he had moved a little later than the others, otherwise that move would have been a lot harder.

Rayd quickly turned, his focus now on the creature to his left, thogh his powers were still be used to keep track of the Alpha Male, and the other creature he had just attacked. He knew they would be up in no time. The remaining creature landed in front of Rayd, it's target now further away than he was initialy. Rayd grinned and suddenly disappeared, no doubt a very confusing move for the creatures to handle.

Rayd had reappeared above the creature, now falling to the ground, and landing a kick into it's side, sending it towards the other two, that had just recovered from Rayd's previous attack. Rayd moved back a little, putting some space between himself and the trio of creatures.

"Hehe. Now they've lost their first advantage... The circle. Now to take out the second advantage... Numbers."

It was true that there may be other advantages Rayd was unaware of, which was why Rayd was using his powers to watch their movements closely. And he knew, that with one of the noises they made early, they could have already called in backup, which was why Rayd had to focus not only on the three in front of him, but also on the two he had jumped in to protect, and anything else that may also pose a threat.

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
(OOC:Yakoutio. These creatures are not that easily killed, please don't play out there death on a single hit mext time. Thanks)

Falling limp there numbers have been reduced to six as one of the large beasts nolonger seems to be a threat, as it lays on the ground unmoving, eyes closed and it has no visible strength for life as it's breathing slows to a stop.

The initial attack had only a minor success. And that would be having attacked Merciah unawares, well that and another, having been forgotten. The one that had leaped for Nessa nolonger had an opponent and caught the unexpecting smaller boy across his shoulder with its front left leg. Slashing his right shoulder with its dagger like claws.

The creatures in dealing with Rayd's counter attack show themselves as smarter then any would have expected for a predator of the forest. There attacks missing Rayd, one goes under and the other goes over. Had Rayd not been there, and been observing, he would have thought it a circus act. The third that might be seen as the alpha male, or perhaps it was just bidding its time to be nessaccary. They were prepared for a failure. As if they knew what would happen in case they weren't to succeed.

A few things were unexpected though. Nessa and Yakoutio becoming one, and the sudden new weapon that wasn't there before. That resulted in one less of there numbers, but also one less in their prey. And Rayd's sudden teleport.

Rayd succeeds in kicking the large beast. But it isn't that easily moved. Not to mention. Due to the nature of there attack, there is no other beast for it to be sent into.

All things to an end. Rayd learns with dismay. The circle isn't broken. The results of the attacks have landed all the creatures in an even tighter circle around the trio of students, now two students surrounded by four creatures, the numbers coming to a total with a limp body on the ground, and two fending off Merciah.

The boy that had been caught unawares Took a snap near his jaw. Only his speed allowed him to keep his head intact, as Merciah brought his open palm up impacting with the creatures throat, forcing it's mouth closed and instead of sharp teeth, the beasts nose impacted Merciah.

But the creature from the other side hadn't been so unlucky as to receive a hit to the throat. It's legs spread out, it tackles Merciah, the impact from the two creatures so feirce, from opposite sides, and one high the other low, suddenly disorients Merciah as he does two cartwheels in the air before hitting the ground just as suddenly.

The groups are seperated, but the numbers are still two to one. Sadly Rayd and Yakoutio/Nessa are still surrounded, now with an obstaacle on the ground near their feat to hamper there movements. Merciah with his own problems as he needs to get himself off the ground as quickly as possible, having the two creatures turn around to see his prone figure on the ground. There attacks leaving them on either side of the boy.

Quickly looking around, Merciah sees that there attacks were not intent on incapacitating their prey from the first attack, but what seems to have been a test to see what there prey could do. Having taken one casualty, they don't see it enough to let up. Suddenly as before. The howling begins again. The students fears that hides deepest in their hearts and souls is brought forth again. Even seperately for Nessa and Yakoutio, making it hard for either of them to concentrate on what they plan to do.

This time the pain is much more real. The howl last time nothing incomparison. It seems nearly incapacitating as the howl reaches a peak. Without even ending there is already movement. Before they had even let up this time, while the pain was still being sent forward the creatures have moved again. This time though half of the beasts attack.

From infront and to the left of the still surrounded Rayd and Yakoutio, they have moved. With the speed that untill now only Merciah had experienced when he thought he had them surprised by his speed. It seems as though they are moving with a practiced procession as the creatures move with the sound they make. Everything is sudden. The only thing they can predict about these predators is that there movements have nothing to foretell the exact moment they are going to be made.

The two from in front and to the left move towards Rayd, then just as suddenly as everything began, they go by him to attack Yakoutio there toothy maws wide and ready for there first bite, then just as they look as though they are to make contact, they are still standing where they began. Just as they two standing begin to make there counter attacks for what they where about to experience. That is noticed to late though. As the illusion seemed to real to not have happened.

The creatures from behind have moved though, after the moves that would have been successfull counters. Even still, Merciah is dealing with his seperately, having never been able to group with the others.

((ooc: Okay here’s the thing. You should have declared the strength of the creatures we were fighting in a ooc post before we actually started fighting them, this way we would have known exactly what level of strength they were at and how to react to them. But you didn’t, therefore by the general rules of RPing the members are allowed to make their own guess at how strong they are. I decided that they were about the same strength as Yakoutio, so therefore in my first post I wounded one.

Yet you act as if I should have known the real strength of these creatures as common knowledge. You say please but this wasn’t even my fault, you belittled me again and this time I’m not going to stand for it, this thread remains locked until you apologise for not clearly stating how strong they are and admitting you should of done this before my post.))

Re: Playing in the Forest (openess)
Well first off, I wasn't belittling you. I did ask politely because I had noticed that I hadn't explained how difficult these creatures would have been to defeat. Hence the fact that I just continued on, and let the hit be. It was a mistake on my part so I wasn't going to make you change your post because of it.

But either way, they are still my creatures, and you shouldn't have been able to automatically gut it having not known its difficulty, as your post seemed to have explained. Your post made it seem as though the creature were nothing to be worried about at all. And you did all this on the first encounter with the creatures.

If you were not sure how difficult they would be, and thought that I should have said something, all you had to do was ask and I would have told you what you wanted to know. General rules as I would take it, if you are unsure about something, ask.

To answer the question of how strong they are, even though I was hoping to let the players in the thread come to realize it with what I was going to have the creatures be able to do. This is a fight that we aren't ment to win, we are ment to run, or do what ever our characters would do to escape.

This all has to do with a board wide story line that is being played out. I am trying to get most everyone involved one way or another. I was asked to join this thread that you and Ness were already in while doing it, so I had.

And you constantly thinking I am belittling you is annoying, and personally, I find it insulting. I am not and I have not intended to do so once since you have been a member of this board. If I were to attempt to make you seem like less a person you are, it would not be concealed with politeness.

I have no reason to hide behind a facade of politeness if I am going to be insulting to someone. But being I dislike insulting people, and I have told you multiple times before on your accusing of me doing so to you, if done, I apologize, but it is not intentional. The only reason why you would think such a thing would be because of something you think, not what I think, or any one else for that matter. Not anything I have done, or am doing is to belittle you.

If you hadn't noticed, I even polite and curteous to those that are on this board that everyone says is a total idiot or the likes and doesn't deserve the kindness I give them. So why would I single you out and only be insulting or rude to you?

This is where I put more of my random thoughts. :)
