Posting Guidelines for the OOC Forum 1 - For OOC threads relating to IC threads, please title them the same. Duh. 2 - Character descriptions: * Please title your post "Character(s): name (name, name, name..)" -- just so they're easy to see. * Please post ALL of your descriptions in one thread, editing as needed to add new ones. This will make it easier for you to keep up with the information as well as make it easy for someone looking for info on one of your characters. * Post any and all information you deem necessary. You are welcome to link pictures of characters, but please do not post them directly in this forum. 3 - Worlds and Settings: * Please put "World: name" or "Setting: name" in the subject line just so that they're easy to pick out when need be. * I am operating on the assumption that a World tag delineations a much broader setting that the Setting tag -- a whole, self-inclusive realm, from the size of an isolated fairytale kingdom to an epic spread of planets across a multitude of star systems. Naturally, a World setting is going to require a lot more information, and should nearly always be played in a moderated IC thread. Drakenhart set a good example with his World Bible - REALMS - thread. * A Setting tag is used for, say, a coffeeshop called Beauregard's that has a red-and-white striped awning and pink petunias and serves almond ice cream on Fridays. Unless otherwise noted, a Setting is a place that is in the "common" world, where any character may come across it and pass in and out. S/he who defines the Setting should note note whether it is free for use or whether s/he should be contacted for it use in an IC plot (say, to write for the owner of Beauregard's as he encounters the PCs). If it's free for use, please be sure to also give a short description of appearance/personality to any important NPCs associated with it (like, the owner of Beauregard's, if I don't want control of everything he says or does). -- |
