Re: .
Looking at the manual(pg. 179) I should have a base attack of 6 at level 6, I'm level 9 now and still wasn't able to switch over.
Since I'm also 1 rogue/1 sorcerer, I wonder if that plays with the base attack some. rogue get 6 base at level 8 and sorcerer at level 12.
Re: Prestige class question
No, you need to understand how babs work when you cross classes. For every 4 levels BAB of rogue goes up 3. For every 2 levels BAB of sorcerer goes up 1. You need to round any remainder down, as well (but in this case only one level of sorcerer will just count as another rogue level). So 3 levels of rogue=2 attack bonus. 2 levels of rogue=1 attack bonus. Etc.
Re: Prestige class question
I think I've finally figured it out. I finally noticed that the sorcerer spells that I can cast are cantrips. My charisma is 10, and you have to have 11 to cast level 1 spells, thus I don't qualify for the arcane spells segment.
Luckily, when I discovered this my level up allowed me to add one to an ability, so I bumped cha to 11. Unfortunately, I think I'm at the end of the game and probably want get another level up, and even if I do, it will only be one so I won't really get to try out the arcane archer. Oh well, guess I'll have to start another game after this one.

No, being a level 1 sorcerer with 7 charisma would work. I have a Ranger/Sorcerer and he only has like 8 and it still works.
The problem is that you can only have 3 classes, you put a level of rogue in there so that you cannot take Arcane Archer.
