Project 1999 Those looking for Classic EQ
Thought I'd make this into a topic.
I have been playing on an EQ Emu server called Project 1999, which is a classic EQ server that closely mimics the code of the original release of the game -
There is no multi-boxing allowed, which really is great because players are much more inclined to work together when they aren't allowed to 5 box - Over 250 players so far and the server has only been live for a week or two. Check it out if you find yourself bored of WoW or whatever else you have been doing.
I don't have a ton of time to play these days due to my job but what time I have had has been spent reliving old memories. Grouped in North Ro for Derv's today. Made an epic run from Qeynos to Freeport, through highhold pass (Invisible) and Kith forest to be bound. It was pretty scary without maps.

Project 1999 is a Classic 1999 EQ experience, complete with the insanely difficult mechanics of the game at the time, but with the rewards for accomplishing what others could not. Just like in original EQ, you won't find many bad players at high level because most of them were incapable of attaining it.
So far with my play on the server I have found it a double edged blade honestly, once you have accepted the game has some outdated mechanics or overly harsh penalty's, it promotes good-play and sticking together to overcome steep odds - This can be very rewarding, or detrimental to the player depending on your choices and risk assessments. So far I've had a lot of fun both soloing and grouping (more so grouping) and my characters are only 10 and 12 so far (I rerolled from a Monk to a Necro) -
The community here is great so if you decide to stop by, post here or find me in game as Loretta.
