 Psychic Vampires
Psychic Vampires
Note: This article is one of a series. It is based on the Psychic vampire phenomena not the Sanguarian. This article is in no way to state that any type of vampirism is a myth or does not exist.
Psychic Vampirism has quite a history. There is infact considerable evidence in various forms that long predates the popular folklore versions. There are actually strong suggestions that they spawned the folklore "bloodsucking vampire". From a historical perspective our study of vampirism could have begun with a consideration of Psychic rather than Bloodlust Vampirism. Biblical accounts also suggest energy phenomena similar to psychic vampirism. A familiar exmaple is when God first created Adam from dust and infused him breathe or the energies of life. He and Eve became living souls when endowed with life-force energy. While empowering a transfer of energyis a far cry from vampirism, the dynamics are similar.
Like human behavior, psychic vampirism can be explained in many ways, each helping us understand it better. One of the more simplistic views say vampirism is basically an instinctual, built in, behavior to strive for survival. Another view is that we are driven by basic needs- hunger, thirst, sex, sleep, activity, comfort and energy. In this example it is explained as means to an end. It is a need to satisfy our urge for energy. Yet another view, is seeking pleasure while avoiding pain. From some perspectives, vampirism is a raw, intamed drive that demands instant pleasure. Hence tapping the infinte enrgy source of another.
By looking at psychic vampires as either agents of evil or a negative force, it offers little hope for us. In fact, the extent of vampirism as a whole is grossly underestimated. We now know that vampirismis not only widespread but it also comes in many forms. I all those forms have these common Features:
The need of a victim.
Limited resources.
We are not hopeless creatures of evil.
Vampirism is a cultural Universal- it exists in one form or another everywhere.
Psi attacks vary intensity and are detrimental in large quanity.
Psi attacks can be both deliberate and spontaneous.
Motives for attack vary from revenge to energy deficency.
Psychic Vampirism is one of the most intruging and complex phenomena in human behavior. Understanding your vampirism and mastering the skills needed are critical to our personal growth and well being. Whether in our personal lives or in a work settingit is important that we understand the forces that influence our success and quality of life.
In future articles I will go over the major points of psychic vampirism. So that we can make our lives, for todays vampire, alot easier.....
