PvP against beastlord blue server
Any suggestions on dueling a beaslord on a blue server? What posions should be used against pet and master? What resists are important? How to fight blinded?
I'm a 51 rogue with 215 poison making and 3% and 5% modifiers. With my resist gear on and discipline my MR is 110, all others close to 85-90.

His warder is going to be a pain in the ass...
Spirit of Sloth. Snare his pet. If you have good DPS, stick to him like glue. If his warder really starts tearing into you, try to joust him. Make sure yer resists are up. If you can bum some from a yer local dru/enc. GoD, CoS, Regen, and for @#%$ and grins get a nasty DS potion. Watch the warder kill himself on yer DS. If you have clickies, toss a couple of junk buffs up Illusion+Mrylo arms etc. Keep sow up at all times, if you cant outrun him and his pet you will be doomed.
A lot of this depends on gear, skill, and whats available.

Ignore the pet. With your Resists the proc will barely land if at all.
You might want to up your MR another 40 points or so.
After this, work on snaring the Beastlord with a poison and just stick on him. He'll kite you if he has his way.
When you're buffing up before the fight, put your SoW real low just in case he goes for the dispel.
If he tries to go toe to toe with melee, joust him to keep him and his pet off you. Make sure you can pass through backstab him Practice that with a friend beforehand just in case.

Re: K
Buy a potion of null aura from an alchemist. It adds 25mr.
Buy sow potions. Otherwise he will be running faster than you.
Protect these buffs with bracer of hidden and shrunken goblin earring if he dispells.
Get wooly spider silk nets (3 instacharges of druid root) and/or scepter of the forlorn (10 instacharges of clinging darkness) to use on the beastlord. If it sticks on him he is dead. If it doesnt, use it to keep his pet off your back.
I'd really really try to start out by hitting the pet with one charge of pumice. If it lands and he has been stupid in stacking his pets buffs, you strip off some dps, sow or mr from the pet.
If you are good at it, you can use instill doubt on the pet. Remember that the instill doubt skill doesnt actually fire off until the very end of the sequence of moves you do when you use it. Practice a bit and you'lll see what i mean. You should be able to apply it on the pet, switch to beastlord and melee him some more, and then switch back to the pet just as it fires off.
I guess try using sneak/hide once. Totally blue suggestion, but sometimes you'd be amazed at some peoples lack of see invis items/buffs.
And yes, ignore the pet. He can heal his pet as good as any priest could.

Re: K
That was a great plan, AstaKhaan, I'll put it to test soon. One last question: how do you fight blinded if MR fails?
Re: K
Basically just run it off. Fighting blinded is mostly a situation of knowing your terrain before you go blind. If you see him casting a spell with crazy flashy lights around him, take a quick stock of where you're running and determine if it's safe to keep going that way. You really just want to stay away from his pet and get out of his spell range.
You also want to account for errors, like being bashed. Being bashed while auto running would cancel it, so you might want to manually rejam down that forward key. Turn up your speakers and ride it out. If your MR is good enough, it won't last for long.
how to win against a bstlord
Ive played both a beastlord and a Rogue...
At lvl 48 with my rogue I dueled a 56 beastlord. This is the strat I used... I'm pretty skills at pvp so this is just my advice.
First thing i did was cast 1 or 2 charges of pumace on the warder (dispells the hp, haste, and proc.. all which are very nasty).
Keep your dagger poisoned with a snare, and DONT use it on the pet. Use it on the Beastlord. Toe to toe even with him and the beast on you you will still drop his ass fast... (hopeing that he dosent get a slow on you). Keep poking his back as much as you can, and that disarm.
If your gear is nice, and hes toe to toe with you he should realize hes not gonna win even with his pet on you. He will undoubtly run in circles much like a bard, letting the pet do all the work (thats the reason for the snare) if that isnt resisted your alright and may win. If its resisted, well best of luck man.

Re: how to win against a bstlord
To counter blinds, buy 'Nightmare hides' in the bazaar. Five insta cast charges of Restore Sight on each of them. They are not lore so can be recharged. Hotkey two of these from general inventory slots. If you get blinded (a pvp spell all beastlords should have memmed se expect to meet it) then use Tab to get yourself targeted, hit one of the hotkeys and you are back at normal sight again.
Re: how to win against a bstlord
Cure poison also works on blind.. You can find some insta cast cure poison drops in Kasora from the spiders. Very common drop.
I fought a dark blue beast lord the other day. I snagged a new mana reducer poison and used it first to see what it would do. Well, it didnt do much.
Anyways, I took down two of his pets and then reapplied muscle lock I and nailed him with it after he resummoned/buffed his pet again. He was toast after that.
I think he was..36 and I was 38/39.
If you can snare him he is yours. Hands down.
Get your MR/CR up some more as well. You resist blind and the pet proc and even if you cant snare him you can beat him.
Re: how to win against a bstlord
Debuff the heck out of him and his pet before you engage. If you don't you will most likely die. At the very least debuff his pet. After the BL and pet are debuffed the rest is gravy. BL without buffs is a weak monk without kick.
Unless he gets that 65% slow on you... then you will be taking a quick dirt nap. Also we aware they have some very nasty nukes.. that if you don't resist you will be in some trouble
Re: how to win against a bstlord
hard for a rogue to debuff melee classes when all we really have is 2.5 sec cast pumice stones and no channeling skill (which means a hit for 1 damage interrupts us casting).

That's exactly what I was going to say...
How the heck do you cast a 2.5 sec spell with a SOWed pet whacking on you? Let alone twice...

Re: how to win against a bstlord
Disc Nimble, dispell Pet, dispell BL, dispell pet. The 2nd dispell usually keeps him from trying to rebuff pet since he just lost some of his own buffs, not to mention he might not have those spells up. If you don't have nimble yet use counterattack, if you don't have that then lvl up ;>
Re: how to win against a bstlord
ohh counterattack is a good idea. could probobly just wax the pet using that along with normal melee. Especially if you start it when the pet gets to about 50% - right when the bst is thinking about starting some heals on it.
Re: how to win against a bstlord
BST have a few fairly fast casting nukes. Even if you pop nimble if they nuke you for 1 dmg it will interupt. The great thing about the spine break series is they can't be cured by cancel magic only cure poison as seen here lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=1833.
This means that versus a blue BST he would probably try and cancel your snare off of his pet which would end up doing nothing and give you plenty of time to go all out on him. With the new extended length on duelist I think it would make more sense to snare his pet and duelist the BST.
Once you snare his pet what you are likely to see is the BST stand next to it so you have to take a beating from the pet in order to attack him. Spine break is also a 50% slow so I would just say go for it, you should hopefully kill him before he can get you.
Just remember that you need instant clicks to counter his dispelling and have a good SoW stacked (high level shaman potion) as you are as good as dead if you are relying on J-Boots. If you have a Seru horse it is even better for you, even though you can't backstab on a horse if you are good at the dismounts you can catch up to him and nail him.

99.99% sure that this is incorrect. Unless there's a knockback component, spell damage alone should not create a channeling check (thus failure for pure melee)
With the new disc system, I imagine Nimble and Duelist are on seperate timers? If so, I would try the nimble/pell idea and then pop duelist for the kill. You can either pell the bst or his pet, the key is to get the sow off of one of them. If you get the bst's sow then he's dead when you pop duelist, if you get the pet's sow then the bst will stop to resow it and you have a shot to pop duelist on him while he casts.

Cochise is right, unless it has a knockback part melees can channel regular nukes fine. On my monk i can pumice through druid dots, nukes, lures, taps etc hitting me, unless its a draught of thunder or some other random thing with knockback pumice will cast.
