Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

Okay, I have a problem with the increasing cost for GOLD for my community. 3 days ago, it was a cost of $75 to purchase GOLD for my community, and I looked at how many active members I had, and how many of those were non-ezsupporters and noticed that the last time we made a purchase we had even more active members, and it cost even less, so there is no reason for it to be that high.
In such, I went through and removed 20% of our boards membership, getting rid of our inactive members that were most likely effecting our total for our next GOLD purchase. I did this yesterday. Yet today, I went back and checked the cost for GOLD, actually, about 2 minutes ago I checked, and it is showing that the cost for my community to purchase GOLD community has increased by $2. I understand that $2 dollars is not a great deal. But when it is added to the already tremendous cost of $75, that we can in no way afford with how few members we have, and even after I decreased our total membership by 20%, from 150 members to 120, there is no reson for it to increase. In a matter of fact, it should have decreased.
Can you please look into this problem, or try to explain to us why it is that even with less members on our board, you are going to increase our cost for GOLD status on our board.

removing your inactive members will do nothing to lower the cost of gold on your board. Inactive members don't cost you a penny. The cost of your board is based on page views by non-supporters. Right now your average daily page views are close to 2000 page views of which only 300 are ezsupporters. Of your 120 members only 16 are ezsupportes. Ezsupporter page views are not counted in the calculation, so if you have more ezsupporters viewing your board your board costs less. Of with all those page views though, actual posts are very low, so that means you have a lot of people looking and driving up your costs but not actually contributing to your board with posts.
some tips to lower the cost of your board - one major thing you can do right off the bat is to change the security settings of your board - right now you have the settings set to who can view as "anyone" that means anyone logged out, anyone without an account can view your board and create additional page views for you. If you change that to registered ezboard users only, that might decrease the views. Another thing you can do is encourage your users to purchase ezsupporter for themselves. Many larger boards will make certain popular forums ezsupporter only. The final thing you can do is make your board MBA - membership by approval. This will limit your board to those already on the member list and will restrict viewing to those who are not. Some boards turn this on in the months prior to renewal and they see their cost drop dramatically. Renewal price is not fixed until 30 days prior to renewal, so you still have time.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you haven't at least restricted your board to registered users only, even your ezSupporters may add non-supporter page views (the views that do count) to your total because they come to your board to log in. If you restrict your board to registered users only, even ezSupporters will have to log in before they get to your board's main page. Unless you have a huge membership, that's probably not a very large number of views but, when every little bit counts, it could be significant.
So what this means, is post more, and log on from outside the board. Also, buy yourselves ez supporter, as it is really cheap and will lower the cost of gold for the board.
