Recruitment Policy
Becoming a Recruit of Da Hui:

Da Hui began as a small friends-and-family-oriented guild and hopes to remain so. As we have grown a lot since our humble beginnings, we have decided not to "actively" recruit new members in order to preserve the tight-knit atmosphere of our guild. This doesn't mean we won't accept new members - it simply means prospective recruits need to seek us out if they wish to join us. If you want to join and you've grouped with us or made friends within our guild, you're already halfway there. Here are the requirements one must meet to become a recruit in Da Hui.

1. Each recruit must have two full-members of Da Hui to sponsor them. These sponsors vouch for a recruit's character and will take care of introducing the recruit to others in the guild and guiding them to our website and message boards, as well as any other questions they may have. Sponsors will also take care of any disciplinary issues, warnings, etc. with a new recruit. In short, sponsors are like big brothers or sisters for a new recruit.

If a recruit doesn't have any sponsors or ties to Da Hui, they need to make the effort to group with us, make friends, and show themselves to be potentially great additions to our guild. We're a friendly bunch so this shouldn't be to hard to do. If you meet one of us, ask if you could join our groups or help us out in any way and I'm sure you'll be welcomed.

2. If neither of the sponsors for a potential recruit is an officer, then the potential recruit must also get the approval of an officer of the guild before getting invited (see our roster for the list of officers). The best way to do this is to group with an officer a few times and impress them with your courage, wit, and skill : ). Ideally, one of a potential recruit's sponsors will help introduce them to some of the officers.

Once requirements #1 and #2 are met, a potential recruit is invited into the guild as a recruit.

Rights of a Recruit

A recruit of Da Hui has every right that a full member of Da Hui has except for access to the private sections of the message boards. They can participate on any raid appropriate for them but are discouraged from leading a raid while a recruit. On raids, recruits have an equal chance to roll on loot as determined by our Can And Will Use loot policy.

Becoming a Member

Throughout the recruitment period it is the responsibility of the new recruit to try and meet as many Da Hui members as possible and it is the responsibility of current members to make sincere efforts to meet new recruits. We are proud of our affiliation with Da Hui and want any new recruit to represent our guild honorably. We are also a guild that thrives on good personal interaction, humor, and companionship. We aren't power gamers, but do expect that new recruits will participate in guild activities occasionally, help each other out, and try to integrate into our virtual community. Keep this in mind when considering becoming a recruit in Da Hui.

Da Hui votes on new recruits every month, usually at the end of the month. This vote, open to all full members, determines whether a recruit can become a full fledged member of Da Hui. As a general guideline, if 60-70% of Da Hui members vote to accept a recruit, they become full members. However, the final decision is made by the guild leader who will weigh all votes and opinions before making a decision.

If there are not quite enough "accept" votes in the first round then the trial period is extended another month, when the guild votes again. This will allow the recruit to meet more guild members, become more comfortable with us, and integrate into the guild culture. We have found that most recruits don't have enough time to make a solid impression by the time we hold the first vote - rarely does a recruit make it into the guild on the first vote.

If after the second vote there are still not enough "accept" votes, Da Hui and the new recruit will have to respectfully part company.

There is one exception to this policy. If a single guild member, and it takes only one, feels that the recruit will be a detriment to the guild or to their happiness in the guild, possibly forcing a member to quit
the guild, then that recruit will be turned down.

Miscellaneous, Level, Class, Race Requirements to Join Da

In the past when we have had too many recruits it was extremely difficult to meet all the new recruits and evaluate them fairly. Because of this, At any given time, the maximum number of recruits Da Hui can have is FIVE. This cap assures that every recruit will be given a fair chance to meet, integrate, and bond with Da Hui members. If there are currently five recruits actively seeking membership in Da Hui, a prospective recruit must wait until one of the current recruits is voted into the guild before asking for recruit status.

There is currently no level cap on the guild but most active members are above level 50. Lower level characters are welcome to try join our guild but they must realize that there will not be as many grouping or raiding opportunities until the higher levels. Also, it will be difficult for a low level recruit to meet full members if they cannot group or raid with the majority of the guild.

We accept all characters regardless of race, class, or gender. If you check our roster we have a large mix of good/evil, big/small, and male/female (ok, so some of those women characters are really cross-dressers, but that's beside the point) so all shapes and sizes are welcome.

A final point to keep in mind if you plan on trying to join Da Hui - most members of our guild play in the U.S. time zones so our play times center around peak U.S. play hours. We do have some members from across the sea that play during off-peak times but don't expect crowds during off-peak hours.
