Removal Policy
Rough Draft:

Removal From Guild

Da Hui wishes to remain a close, family-atmospheric guild. When a guild member performs distasteful acts such as repeated training of other players, guild members, or allies, and including ninja-looting, belittling players or guild members in chat channels or guild chat, or is involved in account theft, they will be voted upon by Officers of Da Hui to be allowed to remain in the guild, or be removed.

Exceptions include, but are not limited to:

1.        The Guild Leader speaks with the member and an agreement is reached to cease such behavior in a mature and sincere manner.
2.        Member in question publicly apologizes to the victim(s) involved and an agreement is made to correct the indifferences and repay any damages owed. (Be it pay for resurrection(s), stolen plat, camp(s), or account(s)).

Steps to take if you wish to have an Officer investigate a troublesome member:

1.        Collect logs, screenshots, or other forms of any mischievous deeds, and either email or speak to an Officer of Da Hui to collect the gathered information from you.
2.        Explain the situation to an Officer, and give valid reasons why you believe this person should not be a member of our family.
3.        Do not antagonize the member to further complicate the situation. (Sending tells, threats in guild chat, etc). Allow an Officer to handle any complaints from here on.

If an Officer of Da Hui finds enough reason to have the member in question voted upon, he/she will bring the matter to his/her peers and the Guild Leader in a private forum. There, Officers will discuss the matter, and vote accordingly. If the Officers agree with a majority vote that the member should be removed from the guild, the member will be removed from the guild immediately without question. However, if the member is allowed to remain in the guild, they will be forced to agree to correct any problem an Officer feels needs correcting.

If they cannot behave after being voted back into the guild, the Guild Leader has jurisdiction to remove the member without question.

Guild members MAY be allowed to vote upon a troublesome member if the Officers and Guild Leader wish a majority vote be taken in the Guild House. The Guild Leader has authorized discretion to veto the vote, should he/she wish to do so in a special case.

Re: Removal Policy
Something I just thought about...We need specific numbers on how many times someone can go up to bat for the person to keep them in the guild. If Ez talks with a member, and they don't behave...should we start the voting process? Kick them out immediately?

Suprised nobody has commented on this so far. This is a major addition to DH. I would be alarmed if we just shrugged this off as if it were no big deal.

Maybe because it was a lot to process and we are thinking it over. :)

I don't think we need specifics as detailed as that..

Anyone engaging in any activity that could bring a bad reputation to the guild, make people genuinely uncomfortable via association, causing people to leave events attended by guild or Allies, or ashamed to wear the same guild tag pretty much sums it up..

People get hot headed and can do irrational things..
That drama is always dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner..
I think that if someone is in a gray area that needs a little council is one thing, but I think anyone can recognize a seriously bad attitude not conducive to any social setting..

If there are enough complaints or a single action that is so blatantly over the top what is the proper action to take??

Rest of the post reads like a contract

I believe we all want to play the game, socialize and not have to babysit anyone or deal with unnecessary drama, but we also need to protect our family.. Sometimes from other members..

-- Ask me!! I just might -- If I'm hungry at 4:30 in the morning, think god will deliver??

Re: Removal Policy
I like it. Well done Lith.

My only suggestion would be to add a little section at the beginning or maybe the end saying that we don't expect to invoke these procedures often. Disputes of this magnitude are very rare, particularly in such a relaxed, fun-loving guild like our own, but on that rare occasion when a problem arises, we hope this policy helps us handle things fairly and properly.

p.s. Sorry for not commenting earlier Lith, I don't visit the boards as much these days.
