Retired and gone - 12/6/2003
this is a bit of a cut out from the 4 part story I was writing to entail the death of me, Vaghris...if you wish to read the entirety of the story, here is the link to the Radiant Storyboard, again, it is a four part story titled "Return of the Darkness". Some of them are quite lengthy, so prepare for a good, long read
------------------------------------------------------------
Vaghris undid his weapons belt, and Wiloe hung her sword by the strap on her shield, and tossed it all
bundled up to Fendien, “Take care of them for us, should we ever need to return.”
Fendien felt a tear fall off his cheek and spat against the worked leather pommel of
Ragebringer, his friends longtime weapon of choice. Nodding at the crowd, Wiloe and
Vaghris hugged each other, with Vaghris reaching his hand out to the side afterwards,
snapping his fingers. The tree which shaded them snapped in turn, the base tumbling to
the ground with a monstrous crash. Dust and dirt filled the air and blocked the view of
most, confusing those in the crowd as to what was happening. Fendien and Echomaster
summoned the winds again and dispatched the dusty air, revealing a sight which was
amazing and saddening at the same time.
The images of Vaghris and Wiloe stood embossed in marble and granite, embracing
each other lovingly one last time. Each feature was perfect, the stone in which they
formed had no flaws within it.
The figures stand to this day, in a location only known to Fendien and Slasra, so that
their friends may rest in peace eternally. A massive gravestone, however, was erected on
the pathway into Mistmoore castle, telling the tell of the couple, and the battle fought on
this ground. To those of a holy marking, it serves as a focal point, to those who wish to
rule the night as Mistmoore did, however, it acts as a ward against them. The spirits of
the couple haunts the footsteps of any malice that tracks their way into Castle Mistmoore,
forever safeguarding what lays within.
------------------------------------------------------------
Ive been a rogue all my life on Norrath, dodging guards, filching purses, coins, and the like. Ive known many a great rogue, some of which was my model of what I wanted to become; to surpass. But the sun sets on my time here amongst you, and I fear that I must depart. Not many have known me, though I suppose thats normal for being a rogue, hardly ever seen, rarely being heard, so I don't expect too much of a precession at my funeral.
Swift be your blades into the backs of profit and easy-living.
Eternally Faithful of Quellious,
Lord Vaghris Martell Bloodreaver
Redeemed son of Mayong Mistmoore
