Revisionist HIstory
YT:
Quote:
Sean: Poor bard went up like a marshmellow held to close to the fire. One of the funniest and 2nd most horrific D&D events I ever witnessed. The first being the kicking of a hapless stranger down a flight of stairs and into the maw of a dozen zombies. Mur-ditily-urdly-er.]

As I remember it: A strange and mysterious thief was found in a mansion over-run with cracked-out 28 days later zombies. As the party retreated up a stairway, the stranger tried to muscle past Wendy Dew's mage, who had hired Garron as her bodyguard. Garron decided to buy some time for the rest of the party at the Thief's expense.

It was made all the more horrible by the 20 to hit kicking the poor bastard in the face, followed by the 19 on Garron's save vs horror/insanity. With an indifferent shrug the callous turned and ran from the feasting undead.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

BTW If I have not apologized already, I am sorry Mike.

It's all good - it's not like I had any time to get attached to sed thief, whose name is lost with his bones. The sad tale of Denias the Bard, however - I may have to write that one up as one of Khelzhad's fables...

Is that how Garron slept at night? Told himself the guy was a thief. It could have been an orphan/innocent person hiding in a closet, there were zombies running around. When the poor soul heard other human voices he sprang from hiding seeking rescue. He only found a boot in the face and a horrible death.

Yes, we all know that it was a thief character but Garron didn't know. But really it doesn't matter, I thank you for giving me such a joyeous memory. I giggle everytime I think of it. Its up there with "dibbs on the mask", " My bow... its so cold", "I renounce my god and embrace the void", "teach yourself how to fly", "Liiiiinnnddddeeennn", "Barrel full of apples", "Jessepi Linguini" and many others.

As I get older I find less and less things make me laugh out loud like the old games of yore.

P.S " Snively and Sneed" also round out at the top.

The way I remember it Garron actually held out a hand for the stranger and at the last second withdrew the hand and booted the guy in the face, sending him down the staircase and into a mob of zombies. In fact I can clearly envision Joyner making exactly those gestures... hand out... hand withdrawn... boot to the face.

You may or may not be correct about the hand gesture part. The mists of time are indeed foggy. Though I doubt any of you could prove anything in a court of law. In fact I think I'd better not comment on Garron's actions any further withuot my counsel present.

And yes... the barrel full of apples was pretty funny. It almost became its own character with all the crazy shit that happened to it near it or as a result of it.

Garron had a habit of rolling 20's for horrific events.

Enter 10 year child stage left......shield bash stage right.....20!!!!!

Like YT, some of those game momments make me cry with laughter when I recall them. "Teach yourself how to fly" was by far the best.
