Age: 12
Code: Rita Skeeter Illegal Animagus
IC:
Full Name: Robyn Haylee Stone-Locke
Nickname(s): Robyn, for short.
DOB: December 27, 1997
Year: First year.
Blood: Half-blood.
House Preference: Ravenclaw.
Why: Robyn, unfortunately, has never been much on the brave side; while she does have some nerve, she certainly isn't daring. True, she values loyalty, yet she is certainly afraid of toil. She'd much rather make other people do her 'dirty work', for lack of a better term. And while all of these terms may add up to the girls' being placed in Slytherin, she would never belong in there, for she lacks cunning. Although she is clever, clever and being cunning are separate skills; Cunning as an adjective is described primarily as "marked by or given to artful subtlety and deceptiveness." As a noun, it is defined as "skill in deception."
Clever, on the other hand, is defined as "mentally quick and original". For Robyn, bright as she is, could never have the will to deceive somebody(at least, as far as she knows). And is Ravenclaw not described as being a welcome house to those quick of mind? Robyn may not brightest, but she is a quick learner, and has plenty of wit.
Physical Appearance: Robyn has a rather sweet and plain air around her. That is, she is no real beauty. Straight, healthy brown hair falls down to a little past her shoulders, where it is cut evenly. When wet, this hair is quite bothersome to the girl; it withers almost, becomes bedraggled and frizzy. Small ringlets often form, too, at the very edges.
However, Robyn doesn't mind. She enjoys having it wet and curled. Often a morning she'll pour water down her hair just for the effect. When in school, she'll often twist her hair into a side ponytail.
As mentioned above, Robyn seems to be sweetly plain. Her skin is smooth, marked occasionally by the average freckle or dimple. Her skin's tone is a creme, that can darken or pale easily, depending on how much sun she receives. She also sunburns fairly easily, so it is not unusual to see her returning to Hogwarts with pink-red cheeks, and angry red ears.(Her ears sunburn the easiest).
Her nose isn't very big, with a blunt tip. She has full cheeks, which round out her face nicely. Her lips are thick, and a pale cherry colour. Robyn's eyes are wide. The irises are a very pale blue colour, ringed with a darker shade of that blue. She has very thick eyebrows, that give her a somewhat worried look. Her chin is blunt. The whole shape of her face is oval. When she grins, her whole face lifts with her and she has a look of childlike joy, and when she frowns, small worry-lines appear in her forehead, giving her a stern and cool manner.
She isn't overly thin, but she's not overweight, placing her around 100 pounds or so. Height-wise, she isn't very tall, coming in at around 4'11". Robyn's feet are 23 cm long. Her legs are slender, usually with at least one bruise or scab on them at a time. She had no 'hourglass figure', her waist isn't thinner than the rest of her body. She has long arms and average-size, tapered fingers with neatly trimmed nails. Except for one nail, her pinky nail, which shows signs of being repeatedly bitten.
Most likely, one is to find Robyn dressed in old style clothing; long skirts, blouses, and occasionally a tunic seem to constantly adorn her(that is, when school uniforms aren't required). When needed, her dress robes would most likely be a pale silver to light fawn gold colour, possibly with black trim. As for shoes, she prefers clogs and sandals to sneakers.
Personality: According to her chinese horoscope, the Ox, she is stubborn, a natural-born leader, inspiring, and easy-going. According to her zodiac sign, Capricorn, she is humorous and practical, patient and careful, reserved and ambitious. Surprisingly enough, she does posses many of these qualities.
Robyn is not very stubborn; she will shift opinions, and positions on subjects quickly and without debate. She is quick to believe what others say, until they are disproved, and then she will agree with the disprover until they are disproved. This could be considered as flexibility, or weak frame of mind. Thankfully she is willful to her own desires, otherwise she'd be bending to do what anyone wanted her to. She isn't much of a leader, she'd rather duck the pressure, force it on someone else. Easily influenced by others, she tries to make her own style by blending together her influences. But her chinese zodiac does get one thing right; she is easy-going. Always relaxed, at least, on the outside, she tends to have a very fun and loose personality.
Robyn is a true Capricorn. She uses her wit to amuse and please, and is often found during the weekends doodling comics. She isn’t overly practical, she is taken to wild flights of fancy and often sets unreasonable goals for herself. However, she is logical. The girl has patience, all right. But sometimes, it runs out and she snaps. When she snaps, it’s terrible(for her, especially). Her eyebrows come together and meet, forming an angry vee. And she shouts loudly and rudely at who or whatever sapped her patience. These episodes are bothersome and embarrassing to Robyn, but she can’t stop them easily. She is very careful and tries to be as precise as possible. She doesn’t like taking risks, and is often the very last to do anything even remotely dangerous, or that she is uncertain about (such as putting on the Hogwarts Sorting Hat). As for reserved; she isn’t overly so, but she can be. Especially when she’s upset. She won’t cry, she’ll keep quiet, she would even look at anyone or anything, except maybe a book. Robyn is definitely ambitious. She dreams big, impossibly big, and strives to achieve her huge goals.
She is friendly, and likes being around people. She can be talkative at times, quiet at other times. She’s mostly quiet now, but that may change as she grows up at Hogwarts. Smiling isn’t first nature with her; she only smiles occasionally, when something makes her really happy or makes her laugh. The rest of the time, she is either frowning or, when she is with her friends, the corners of her mouth twitch ever so slightly and hint at a smile. Robyn is, or tries to be, polite- but she is only human, and is rude at times. She has a habit of twirling her hair through her fingers when busy.
Robyn likes to collect things. She likes to collect and categorize them. Her room is littered with collections of rocks, butterflies, algae, flowers, etc. Each has it’s own glass case and each item is labeled in her very neat handwriting. She is terribly touchy about these collections. Even her mother must stay at least a foot away, which her mother does only because quite frankly, she doesn’t give a whit.
History: Robyn was born in the late hours of the night on December 7th, 1997. Her mother, Kaetlyn Stone, a witch, immediately dubbed the babe as ‘Robyn Haylee Stone-Locke.’ Kaetlyn Stone was divorced from Lewis Locke, Robyn’s father. She gave the child both her parent’s surnames, to compromise. Robyn was born with pearly white skin, fragile little hands, a sweet heart-shaped face, large pale blue eyes, and a small amount of blonde hair. Throughout infancy, her mother tended to her gently. She was introduced to her father briefly, at the park. He was extremely pleased with his daughter. Robyn got to spend weekends with her father.
By the time she was two, she could wobble around fairly easily. She could speak, albeit not much. Her hair had darkened to a smooth brown. Robyn generally wore it in pigtails, or a braid. She got to spend the weekends with her father, who lived only an hour from where they lived. It was there she was first introduced to collection. Her father was a collector himself. He had everything from old baseball cards to gum wrappers. She was fascinated by these collections. He actually got her started on rocks.
Her father’s mother died shortly after she turned three. Robyn herself was too little to be overly upset or even understand. She had always viewed her grandmother as a stuffy old lady with too many cats. Speaking of the cats, there were five. Two went to a shelter, two stayed with Robyn’s father, and one came to live with Robyn. He was a special cat, only 4 months old. He was the kitten of Kaetlyn old cat. He was beautiful, with dainty paws and sleek stone-grey fur. His eyes were strange, though; when they changed to adult colors, one remained blue and the other turned amber. She named him Sammie.
Her mother home schooled her the first years of her school career. Kaetlyn had been a teacher in younger days. However, in order to support themselves she had to pick up a day-job, and so Robyn went to a public elementary school. She was older by then, five turning six, and full of questions. Why didn’t daddy live with us? She asked once, tugging her mother’s sleeve. Kaetlyn had smiled softly and explained about the divorce, but keeping it simple. Mommy and daddy didn’t love each other anymore. Now they’re just friends. She was still dissatisfied with the answer. Truth be told, it was because Kaetlyn was a witch. Lewis had found out. He had tried to look at Kaetlyn as a normal person, but it wasn’t possible. Their marriage had disintegrated, while Kaetlyn found out she was pregnant. They both agreed it would be easier to divorce before the child was born, so the child didn’t have the trauma of her parents splitting up.
School was fairly easy for her. The classes were slow-paced, but entertaining for the child. She had abandoned her old style of pigtails, and now wore her hair down everyday, so that it framed her face. At the age of seven, a little boy, by the name of Brice, developed a crush on her. Kaetlyn and Brice’s mother, Hannah, found this amusing and arranged many play-dates between the two. Robyn didn’t seem interested in Brice, though- she found him annoying. So she was relieved when he moved away, although she never found out where. Her collections continued to grow. By now she had moved on to butterflies, and then, in honour of her father, gum wrappers. Sammie had grown up by now. He was a large, lithe tomcat.
Her mother pulled her out of school again after a while, and they packed and went to live with her aunt, in Connecticut. Why was never discussed. Robyn missed her father dearly, and lost interest in her studies. She noticed a change in her mother, too, and realized that her mother was ill. How, she wasn’t sure, but that explained why they were living with her aunt- so Robyn could be cared for better than her mother could provide. Sammie became restless, uneasy in this new home. He ran away twice, but luckily they found him both times before any harm befell him.
She was 10 when she received the chance to return to England. Her father offered to take care of her until Kaetlyn was better. Robyn jumped at the chance, and soon she and Sammie were back in London. Three months later, Robyn received word that her mother was fatally ill. Not dead yet, but most likely by next year. She started collecting black roses.
As she turned 11, a strange letter dropped off by a owl came. It told her odd things, that she was a witch and had been accepted to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She didn’t understand at first, but her dad explained the best he could about her mother and Witchcraft. Robyn was glad she understood why her parents split up, but depressed, because now she wouldn’t be able to visit her mother. She quickly wrote up a letter explaining what was going on and mailed it to her aunt. The returning letter held a small bag of strange-looking money, which her aunt said was from her mother.
With that out of the way, she packed her collections and clothing, everything she may need. The letter told her she may have a cat, she she took Sammie too. They headed off to Diagon Alley(Her father and her) to get her supplies. And then she, as instructed, headed off to the Platform on the day of the Train. She would have been lost had she not seen a family charge headfirst through solid stone. Guessing that was how to get to Platform 9 3/4, she followed suit. And amazingly, she wasn’t killed. Instead, she found herself at the Hogwarts Express. Waving bye to her dad, she boarded the train.
RP Sample: Robyn yawned, her dark eyelashes fluttering briefly before closing. Before she could get comfortable, though, a loud meow vibrated next to her ear, snapping her eyes open with a start. The stone-grey tomcat rubbed against the side of her face, purring evenly. She sat up and glanced around. Turning on the cat, her head tilted as she spoke. ”Now how did you get out of your carrier, Sammie?” The cat’s only reply was a blink. She waggled her finger at him and placed him in the carrier, the corners of her lip twitching slightly.
Deciding she might as well stay awake, she pulled out the bag of the coins, who’s names she had learn were Galleons. The girl debated briefly whether or not to start collecting them, and decided not to, as it’d take three coins to end the collection. Placing the bag down, she pulled out one of her school books, cracked it open and eagerly scanned the pages, absorbing the strange new information. She wondered why her mother had never brought up witchcraft with her. Oh, how much fun it would have been! Her lips twitched again.
After a while, she closed the book. The jingling of the trolley sounded. Curious, Robyn bought a chocolate frog and a cauldron cake. She opened the frog first. It hopped out of the container, causing her to yelp with surprise. Sammie hissed at it from within the carrier. She grabbed it as it hopped by her face, wondering how she was supposed to eat it. Grimancing, she bit into a leg, watching it stiffen and become what it was, a chocolate frog. Her lips twitched and she bit into it again, amused by the trick. Then she noticed the card inside of it. Hm. ”Famous Witches and Wizards,” she read. “Albus Dumbledore.”
Robyn blinked. The picture of the old wizard had just moved. Rubbing her eyes, she wondered how she would get used to all of the magical world. But hey- she had just found something to collect. She stored the card away in a pocket. She ate the rest of her frog, and then the cauldron cake. Brushing the crumbs off her dark blue blouse, she decided to change into her school robes.
Something told her this was going to be an interesting year.
