Ruining things I like
I saw Atlantis and I liked it.
Now the question of Disney's "ripping" of a story line. Now first lets examine some evidence as to not. Both Nadia and Atlantis are based off of 20,000 leauges under the sea AND Journey to the center of the earth. Furthermore, Nadia is "ripped" from another anime called Laputa, admittedly which also has a very Jules Verne story line to it. So how is it that Rabid Anime fans can with concience claim that Disney has Once again ripped off of anime if said anime is based off of something based off of something.
Second the Kimba the lion thing, I don't consider that theft on Disney's part. Disney DOESNT make up it's own story lines, it pulls them from classical fairy tales (Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty), Classic Literature (Hunchback, apparently Atlantis), Folklore (Lion King, Mulan, Aladdin), and various other places that I can't think of now like, where they got the Emporer's New Groove.
But anyway, what I am saying is the case of the rabid anime fans just irks me. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care. Atlantis is a good movie with good characters and warrants going to see it based on its own merits. So yeah I am done now.
Actually, I agree with you. I wrote a whole danged rant in my blog on the idea that Atlantis is a rip-off. You probably don't know me, but I'm another online friend of B's. ^^;;
