Saori Sasaki
Name: Saori Sasaki

Age:15

Grade: 9th

Appearance: Saori's physical build matches her personality: she's small and petite, which helps her to stay out of the center of attention fairly well. She only stands at about 5'3, and is pretty skinny (not unhealthily, or even unattractively...just a little bit skinnier than the normal girl). She's also not especially voluptuous, though she's definitely got a body...it's just smaller than the average girl. The problem is, even with her small stature and her shy personality, such a pretty girl as Saori can't prevent attention. Especially with one feature: her long, thick hair is naturally green (not lime-green or neon green, kind of a dull green...somehow, it actually looks natural). Her bangs are fairly long and thick, too, and tend to hang in her eyes, so that she has to keep pulling them out of her vision. Her eyes are also an emerald green, to match her hair; they're usually big, wide, and scared-looking.Her face shows mostly American features, though she does have a hint of an Asian look to her, visible mostly in her eyes; this only adds to her appeal.

She also has wings like an eagle, white-and-grey feathered: her attribute as a wind-user. They sprout from her back, and have an immense wingspan, a little longer than she is tall. But she can make them appear or disappear at her will. She loves her wings, and is very proud of them...in fact, they are the only part of her body that she is truly proud of. Yet no one has yet seen them besides her brothers. She did not have them until just recently, and is ashamed of that fact: which is why she loves them, and which is why no one has yet seen them.

Personality: Saori is very shy. She's nervous around most people, aside from her family and her extremely close friends. She's also very afraid to meet new people, and under certain circumstances, she may not even talk at all. This also has another aspect to it: because she's not been around people much, she has a tendency to form crushes easily, and will become very attached to people who show kindness towards her. She's slightly less shy around girls, but not by much. Once someone begins to break through her shell, she'll gradually become more talkative, and will begin to show affection for that person. When she truly likes someone, she becomes very close, and even clings to them.

But when she's in the sky, soaring, her personality changes completely. She is happy, she is excited, she'll even talk. She's at home in the sky, since she's a wind-user. But no one has yet seen this side of her...only her brothers have seen her wings, and so no one else as seen her fly. And even then, her brothers cannot fly, and weren't in the skies with her at the time.

Special Power:
Wind Control: Saori can control the wind around her. This means she can take what wind there is, and move it to her will. Currently, she cannot create wind, and it takes immense magical energy for her to make the wind move faster than it is already moving. Of course, she's really weak, one of the weakest on her island - so the most she can do is make the wind strong enough to knock a person over, and not much more. She will also collapse if she continuously speeds up the wind - which means she can do it in 5 short bursts or for 5 minutes at a time without a short rest.

Also, because of her wind-powers and her wings, she can fly. Though she may not be very physically strong, and her wings cannot carry her when there is no wind to soar upon...she can control the wind to lift her up. She can also do this to help others with wings to fly, but it is much more difficult. When she's flying, she controls the wind through the way she feels it over her body...whereas when someone else is flying, she would have to think more about what she's doing, which makes it much more difficult to concentrate and sustain the right amount of wind under the person's wings.

History:
Saori was born on an island, where the rest of the world didn't even know about. The island was somewhere between Japan and America, so the people of this island have a tendency to be of either ancestry, though more often they're mixed, like Saori and her brothers. The reason that the island is hidden from the eyes of the rest of humanity is because of its immense magical properties: human instruments don't detect it, and machines will deter from it (such as planes and boats) without the humans even knowing, because of their instruments being tampered with. And because it's so far from any other land mass, it's impossible to see with the human eye.

The island is home to a special breed of human. The people on this island have a tendency to be able to control some natural force in the world: wind, stone, plants, etc. Saori and her brothers were all three gifted with these abilities. Her eldest brother, Katsuo, has control of fire, while the middle brother, Chiyo, can control nature and plants. Saori was gifted with wind.

As they grew up, the three children started to come into their abilities. Katsuo and Chiyo acquired theirs at a young age, and began to learn; by the time they were 15, bother were rather skilled in their abilities. Saori, on the other hand, didn't learn of her powers until she was 10. And even then, she's rather unskilled, unable to do much with them even by the age of 15. She also has yet to gain her special attributes that come with her powers.

Because she's so unskilled, she was mistreated by her peers. This drove her to become silent and shy, unlike her brothers, to the point that she even avoids contact from other humans. Her brothers and her parents are very protective of her; but they couldn't even help her.

With no other options, Saori's parents finally decided to send her to MHS. There, she could learn to use her powers, and no one would know how unskilled she was.

EXAMPLE ROLE-PLAYING POST:

"No!" Saori cried out, her voice becoming squeaky. "I don't want to go! I don't want to leave you!" Saori fell back into the couch behind her, tears streaming down her cheeks. They stained her skin, leaving trails of wetness from her eyes to her chin, causing the skin there to become a darker shade of pink than the rest of her face. She quickly covered her face with her hands, attempting to hide it from her parents. She wasn't worried about what they thought; they were the only ones who loved her. She hated the thought of leaving that love behind, to go into a world of strangers. It scared her to death.

She felt the cushions of the couch shift underneath her, and quickly realized that someone had sat down beside her. Just as she lifted her head, she felt a strong arm snake around her shoulders. She turned her head, and through her thick bangs, saw the fiery redhead that was her eldest brother, Katsuo. She hadn't even known he'd shown up in the room. The instant she saw it was him, she immediately threw her arms around him, clinging hard to him as if he could save her somehow. Her face was immediately buried into his chest, hair flung wildly across it. "Help, onii-san!" She cried out, in her mix of English and Japanese. His hand patted her back gently, comfortingly, underneath the soft, silky hair that hand down it.

"Listen, sis," He said, his voice soft and comforting for her, "It's best that you go. You'll make all sorts of new friends." She lifted her head, tilting it back so that she could look up at him. Her bangs still hung across her face, but this time they only covered one eye. The other emerald eye gazed straight up at him, straight into his eyes. Her mouth hung open slightly, in a cute, innocent sort of look. It was obvious that she would take anything her eldest brother said to heart, and probably believe him. "Besides," He continued, "You don't want to have to deal with these stupid people here who don't appreciate you. I'm sure the people in America will love such a pretty girl like you." Then, with a wink, he added, "And maybe Chiyo or I will join you at some point."

Slowly, Saori sat back, pulling away from the hug. She drew her arms back, holding her hands shyly in front of her. Then, she lifted them to her face, so that she could brush her fingers underneath her eyes, and across her cheeks, wiping the wet tears from those spots. Still frowning unhappily, she gazed up at her brother. Then, she nodded slightly, shyly.

"O-ok..." she stammered nervously. A deep sigh escaped her. "I-I guess I'll go...i-if I have to..."

k, you know the routine...I hope. My comments will be in blue.

Good

Personality: Saori is very shy. She's nervous around most people, aside from her family and her extremely close friends. Again, good. I can't write personalities for...yeah anyway.

Special Power:
Wind Control: Saori can control the wind around her. This means she can take what wind there is, and move it to her will. Currently, she cannot create wind, and it takes immense magical energy for her to make the wind move faster than it is already moving. She will collapse if she continuously speeds up the wind - which means she can do it in 5 short bursts or for 5 minutes at a time without a short rest.

Ok, small problem. I apologize to limit this...but I need a top acceleration speed for the wind. 1000 mph winds aren't gonna work. I know you weren't going to but it needs to be here. Also, wind is an elemental power. While this isn't very powerful at all (with the above limit in place) I'm not sure if its creative enough. I'll let an admin decide this.

Also, because of her wind-powers and her wings, she can fly. Though she may not be very physically strong, and her wings cannot carry her when there is no wind to soar upon...she can control the wind to lift her up. She can also do this to help others with wings to fly, but it is much more difficult. this part is fine.

Its fine...but I would appreciate a little more detail for a second character, but I'm not sure what else there'd be to add (I'm tired at the moment.) so its fine for now.

Re: Saori Sasaki
Everything looks fine to me, the limits on the power are fine and the power is pretty weak. On top of that, you only have one power. If I had a stamp like Merc did, I'd stamp this.
