Selective Rules by GMs
Tonight I lost all faith in the customer service of Everquest. I've noticed many times before that they seem to make up rules as they go and some rules apply to some people, others don't, it all depends on the whims and fancies of GMs. That was further proved to be the case tonight.

Several months ago, I had my last name changed to Angelbane, which is a surname taken by a number of close friends and I was very happy to become part of the family. The GM at the time - unfortunately I don't remember who it was - said congratulations on your last name and was very pleasant.

Then this past weekend I was married. My new wife petitioned for a surname change and was contacted by GM admin Deyvon tonight, after which I was contacted and told that I had to change my surname because it was in violation of the naming policy. There have been a number of surname changes to Angelbane, including my own not long ago. I was a part of a clan and wore that name with pride, as my wife was going to do. The fact that it suddenly becomes against the naming policy has me outraged.

What has me further outraged is that GMs waste their time with removing surnames that were fine a few months ago when they could be out there resolving real issues. I was always one who stood up for GMs, tough job, too many issues, yatta, yatta, but NO MORE. Deyvon has completely soured my image of GMs and SoEs policies.

Thanks for turning what was supposed to be a happy time for me into something completely opposite, Deyvon. /rude
