Re: Should I meet her or not?
An owl suddenly flew at a rapid pace into the Clocktower. Shortly after, a young teen boy followed. "Get back here!" he called, obviously speaking to the bird. "You dumb feathery... thing!" he exclaimed, jumping up and catching the owl in his arms, bringing it down as though catching a football.
"Ha!" he exclaimed loudly. "Caught you! What now, Bernice?" he asked the feathery bird smugly. He held it under his arm, though the owl stubbornly tried to break loose.
It seemed that just then he noticed that somebody else was there. "Oh... sorry... hey," he said. He knew the girl from past meetings around school. "How's it going?" he asked her. "What're you doing here?" he questioned, trying to keep the bird he was holding silent.

"Things are going okay for me," Annie said to Mike. Annie had talked to Mike before but not a lot of times.
"I'm just came up here so I would have a place to think," The blond haired Gryffindor said to Mike.

"Oh... think? About what?" Mike asked, as though the idea of thinking was totally new to him. The struggling bird was growing annoying, and fast, so Mike grabbed the letter that the feathery creature had grasped in it's talons. He then released the bird towards the exit of the clock tower, hoping it'd fly away, and it did, luckily.
"I mean... what's so important that you'd come all the way up here to think about it?" he asked curiously.
Re: Should I meet her or not?
"That's a cute owl," Annie remarked about Mike's owl before it flew away.
"Well recently I got a letter from my mother who I had not seen since I was like six. But now my mom wants to meet me and I really really want to meet her also. My father is so agaisnt me meeting my mother for some reason. I really really want to meet my mother though so I'm thinking of maybe meeting my mother without telling my father about it," Annie told Mike. She hoped Mike would think she should go meet her mother.

"Thanks," Mike said, "but she's annoying. Her name's Bernice... she's our family's owl," he told Annie after she complimented Bernice.
"Wow," Mike responded after listening to Annie's story about her mother. "Well... you should totally do whatever you feel is right... whatever you want, y'know? Sure, if you meet her and your dad finds out, he'll be pissed, but if you don't meet her, you could regret it for the rest of your life," Mike said, wide-eyed with seriousness. "Think about it," he added, for emphasism.

"I know if I don't meet her I will probably regret it for the most of my life," Annie said to Mike with a smile. She was glad Mike understood where she was coming from. "I'm surprised none of my brothers want to meet my mother as much as I do. Well, besides my stupid oldest brother Adam,"

Mike, too, was surprised to hear that none of the other Coens, besides Adam, wanted to meet their mother. He knew that if he was in that situation, he'd feel the same as Annie.
"Is he gonna meet her with you?" Mike asked, thinking perhaps Annie would want somebody there with her when she meets her mother. After all, it was very important for her.
Re: Should I meet her or not?
"Oops I meant to say Joey. Adam totally doesn't want see our mother again," Annie corrected herself. "I'll probably go meet my mother along though because Joe doesn't like to do stuff he's not supposed," Annie said with a slight roll of her brown eyes.

Mike sort of frowned at this news. Despite which brother was choosing not to meet her mother, Mike didn't like the idea of Annie going alone. "Don't you think someone should be there with you?" he asked uncertainly.
Re: Should I meet her or not?
"No I don't think I'll need to have anyone there with me," Annie said sounding more certain then felt. "I'm just going to go meet my mother. What could possibly go wrong?"

"I dunno, Annie..." Mike admitted honestly, "but what if you get nervous? Or if she gets nervous? What if it's really awkward? Or... what if you want someone there with you, just for support?" Mike said, giving the girl just a few simple examples of why he was certain it wasn't wise to go alone.
He thought for a moment, and then uncertainly looked at Annie. "I mean... I could- If you wanted, I could go with you... just for, like, moral support," he offered kindly, with a friendly smile.
