Skin Samples
Well, I've been working on this quest and was hoping to have it completed before submitting it, but, well, you'll see.
Go to Morden Rasp's room in Abysmal Sea. Near Morden is a female iksar necro named Alexsa somethingorother. Hail her and she summarizes the situation in GoD. She finishes the paragraph with "Seeing as you listened to all that, would you be interested in helping the Wayfarer's Brotherhood?" No brackets.
The trigger word is "Yes". She then gives you a two slot combinable container and tells you to search for skin samples in GoD; a tongue from any of the Muramite races plus a distilled salt constitutes one sample. Tongues drop rarely and are lore/no drop. Salt is a ground spawn in Natimbi along the shore, but what has held me up is that it appears to only spawn on zone reset or patch. GRAGH!
The promised reward is that she will tell you the specific weaknesses and strengths of the race that you bring a tongue of. I have seen a Noc tongue and a Mastruq tongue so far. If you get the tongues of all of the races (Noc, Kyv, Aneuk, Mastruq, Ukun -- possibly more (bosses?)) and hand them all in, she will "talk to Morden about getting you some kind of reward."
in a few trials that i have done, havn't seen a tongue drop yet.

I've got one of these in my bank right now - if I can find a distilling salt I'll give the combine a try and see what happens.
Will post results here - tongue type, resulting text.

The salt is no drop and stackable. I uh, picked 3 of them up and eventually destroyed them due to no idea what to do with them. (3 different spots, and I haven't seen them respawn)

It appears that the tongues are extremely rare, but drop off of any member of the race in question. In short, don't worry if it's in a trial or not--one of my guildmates got a Mastruq tongue in a trial--they drop anywhere. Just don't hold your breath.

After a server crash I picked up one salt on each of three beaches in Natimbi. They looked like a little bag on the ground. Checked mutliple times since and never seen any more. Anybody ever find then as respawn?

A friend who was in the GoD beta says that they may still be bugged from beta, where they weren't spawning except at server reset. Which is why I'm frustrated after four days of spending all my playtime searching for the salt.

I got a Ikaav tongue and Ukun tongue and salts for each...got container, did combine....poof nothing, container and contents disappeared giving no result both combines, another broken quest....

i got aneuk tongue the day GoD went live. couldnt find salts for a few days, after i did, i hit the combine, gave the NPC the sample and was told -
"These odd-looking floating beings interest me the most. They seem to be quite adept with magic making them strong against magical incantations. Your doing great, but there are more samples left to be found. Please get them to me as soon as you can."

Last night I camped in Natimbi intentionally, just in case the salts were still sitting there when I came home from work. This evening I wasn't surprised that I couldn't find them. However, the servers then came down again, and I took the opportunity to snag two of the salts when they came back up!
So, I excitedly ran back to the NPC in Abysmal because I had a mastruq tongue all ready to be salted and turned in. When I combined the salt and the tongue in the container, though, I had the exact same experience as the poster above--poof!! No success or failure message, no product, no empty container--nothing.
I have /petitioned and /bugged this in hopes that maybe they will do something about it eventually.

I've heard other people comment about some combiners not doing quest combines, although in those cases nothing at all was happening when the combine button was pushed (i.e. the quest items weren't lost). This is apparently something new since the last patch.

Just to follow up my previous post: When I logged on today the GMs had restored my poofed salt and mastruq tongue as requested in my /petition. At least now I know not to try again for quite some time.

yeah, seems a lot of containers for quest combines have been messed up since they added the tradeskill window. I can't recharge my Griffon Wing Spauldors anymore, Funny thing is, I burned the charges off them getting onto the boat in Natimbi, cause theres no other way to get onto the damn thing except levitate!

They added a dock a little while ago in Natimbi. They also added zone wide annoucements of when the boat comes/goes in Nedaria's, Abysmal and Natimbi which is nice.

I'd say I've now killed an average of at least 1000 mobs in each race and I have successfully collected....
1 Kyv Tongue, and that was only just last night.
To say tongues are a rare drop would be ever so slightly an understatement. :P

this quest and glyphed flesh?
I just found 2 lore (possibly nodrop, I'm on FV) Glyphed Flesh groundspawns in kod`taz, when poking around... one inside the temple of the tri-fates behind a snake-woman (ikiav (sp?)) and one on top of the north part of the temple of singular strength. I'm sure there's one more in or around the temple of dual-somethingorother, too.... is this related to this quest, as it's a skin sample, so to speak? Or is that something else?
