Slash vs. Thrust - is the information still accurate?
I have been away for a long while now and thought I would come back to DAoC for a bit. This time, however, I was thinking of rolling up a Briton, Slash, Infiltrator (+10 Str, +10 Con, +10 Dex).
I've been sorting through a lot of old posts and some of them as far back as a year ago (before I left) and I am wondering if the information is still accurate?
Basically from what I can gather in the posts. This is in comparison to my old Infiltrator (Sarcean, +10 STR, +10 DEX, +10 QUI).
Thrust Rogue: Pros: Dragon Fang, Higher Weapon Skill (easier to hit target), More RvR vulns for pierce. Higher Overall Damage with Faster Weapons and QUI. Cons: 50 Spec for Dragonfang, Low damage styles, few PvE vulns. Lower Perf Cap.
Slash Rogue: Pros: Amnythest (sp) Slash, more PvE vulns. Front loaded damage (low weapon speed and lower QUI). Does not need 50 spec to get Amnythest (sp) Slash. Cons: Lower Weapon Skill (harder to hit target), few RvR vulns, less overall longterm damage.
Is all of that still true? Have those Infiltrators with slash found that they miss significantly more than those with thrust (before RA's). Do those of you with thrust find that you do worse in PvE than those with slash? From what I gathered people suggested Slash if you weren't planning on taking Thrust to Dragonfang. Is this still true? I would certainly like to spead my points out with my rogue, but if having slash is going to hurt me pretty bad with base-to-hit (Weapon Skill) and toast me in RvR, I might reconsider.
What do you guys think? Have any of you played both?
Thanks for your time, I know a lot of this is re-hash.
