Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

Sleepness Night ((Open))
The half-Ojibwe girl was not sleeping very well lately, mainly because her mind was so full of thoughts. Too many things roiled around her head, and the complications made her want to tear her long black hair out at the roots. When life got complicated, Hawthorne took to the woods. It was the way her people had dealt with things for centuries beyond recall, and the interconnectedness of it all drained the stress right out of her.
Feeling the comfort of Ahki beneathe her feet, she pulled off her moccasins, allowing the cool, damp grass between her toes. It was the perfect night for a walk, or maybe even a run should the whim take her. She could do that now, thanks to Jun and Ryoko and all her new, athletic friends. What a change in her they had made.
The three quarter moon shed plenty of light to see by, reflecting coolly off the metal embeded in her face. Occasionally she made an odd clacking noise as the stud in her tongue bounced off the ring in her lip. Other than that, the only noise she made was the whooshing sound of her jean-clad thighs brushing against one another.
It was so interesting when the air was crisp enough to see your breath, but still warm enough that she could wear a light, green cable-knit sweater and nothing else. Too much clothing was such an encombrance, and the grey-eyed girl liked her movements to be free. It made her feel safer on some level.
Finally she came to a small clearing in the woods. A large rock sat near a murky pool of muddy water. Deer tracks churned the muddy bank of the pond, and the smell of fresh animal droppings was in the air. To Thorny it smelled like home. Idly she squatted down near a pile of scat and examined it.
"Wawashkeshshi, you have been out late this night."
Her voice was a dull murmur upon the night wind, an idle musing between herself and the myriad stars twinkling above her. Such solitude was rare, seldom remaining unbroken in a busy place like MHS. Perhaps that was why she preferred aabta dibikaag for her rambling.

*He had been in the forest for hours now. He still was not taking a break. If she listened closely she would hear him hitting the tree. She must have gone further into the forest then she had meant to, or maybe she had meant to. Either way she had stumbled upon his training area.
Thus far he had taken no one to it. There was a single tree so powerful and old, that even his chi enhanced punchs and kicks barely shook it. He loved this tree. Today was no different then any other for him. He was there hitting the tree with every bit of strength he had. His hands and legs were empowered with Chi to the point were it was almost able to be seen.
He made soft noises and he continued to bash the tree. His steel skin keep him from taking damage, but he was hitting the tree so hard he was trying, really trying to damage it. It was always his goal. But he failed at all times. His breathing was heavy, from the effort it took for him to keep up the quick pace and strength. He was useing so much chi he only slightly could sense some one around him.*

She mused over the deer tracks for a long time, until finally the sound of dull thuds broke her concentration. Slowly, carefully, she raised to the balls of her feet. Looking around she took in as much of the scenery as possible.
There.
On the other side of the clearing a familiar figure was smashing his fists against a tree. She raised an eyebrow. How long had the nini been at that? Crazy he was. It was rare that he was so preoccupied, so Hawthorne took the opportunity to sneak up on him.
As silently as only a barefoot native could, she slunk across the darkened clearing, using the natural absences of light where the moonlight couldn't slip through the trees. He was still smashing the old weegwas.
She silently slipped up behind him and placed her cold fingers on his neck.

*His body had sweat all over it, it was obvious that he had been at it for a while. He continued to bash the tree with quick blows. He only just noticed that some one was coming up on him, when they got close enough that the chi signal was just about on him.
He nailed the tree with all his force as the ice cold fingers touch his hot neck. He shrieked lightly at the cold feeling. By god he had not expected that, he had never seen another person here, or even seen animals there. It seemed most living pbeings tried to stay away from it.
He leaped a good ten feet from her and landing spinning around his foot dragging on the ground causing dirt to be kicked up. His fists were up ready to fight when he looked at her. When he finnaly noticed who it was he nodded.*
"Oh, hi. How did you get here? How are you? What are you doing? What you doing?"
*Ya he seemed confused as hell, oh well; maybe she would figure out what he meant.*

She couldn't believe that she was actually sneaking up on Jun, it seemed impossible. Still, she was bold in the night in a forest, this was an element she was bred for, after all. If anyone could maximize potential here it was one with her upbringing.
When she touched his hot, sweaty neck, he released the most amusing, and satisfying, noise ever. She wished she had a tape recorder. No one would ever believe that Jun-Bo had shrieked like that. Too bad, cuz it was funny.
As he leapt into the air, performing impressive acrobatics, she was doubled over with laughter. It was just too funny for words. Thorne was laughing so hard that it was getting difficult to breathe. Tears ran down her flushed face as she tried to catch enough of a breath to respond to his jibberish.
"Oh, hi. How did you get here? How are you? What are you doing? What you doing?"
She gave up and fell to the floor, laughing hard and holding her sides. It was too prescious, and she was over tired. Poor Jun, the brunt of her humour. He may not forgive her for this one.

*He was not amused at her laughing at him. He tried to remain mad at her, but soon enough he smirked at her as she was laughing and it was getting threw his thick skin. Then again he had relaxed a little.*
"Ok ok. Calm down. What are you doing out here?"
*He looked around wondering what she could have been out here for. Maybe she was draw to the water on a primal level. He puzzled over it a little. He was curious about it. He did not honestly want anyone knowing about this tree. If anyone ever tried to cut it down, he might have to kill the person.*
"Normally a person would be asleep at this time of night."
*He waited to see what she explained about this instance. He stood there letting the sweat dry slowly. He was going to have to take a shower when he was done here. He had worked up one hell of a sweat.*

She watched as Jun-Bo tried to retain a stern look of reprimand, but it faded and soon he joined her in her amusement. He had to know that it was funny, after all, he made her yelp and such all the time. It was nice to get back at him, poke a little fun at her sensible friend.
"Ok ok. Calm down. What are you doing out here?"
She took a deep breath, and released it, still letting out a little chuckle. Putting her hands on her knees to brace herself, she repeated the process, taking a deeper breath and letting that out too. No giggles this time, it appeared she had herself under control. She straightened up to address Jun.
"I come out here all the time, specifically to this clearing. You may not know this, but my people have dwelled in bugwayji up until the last century, and, quite frankly, many of us still do. When I can't sleep, I come out here, mainly tracking the owayseug. I don't hunt anymore, but I do enjoy following a tricky trail now and then. The wawashkeshshi in these parts are wily."
Her tone was gentle and explanatory. She took no offence to his question, nor was she mocking his lack of knowledge. It was a simple explanation, for she loved sharing information about her culture. The more people who knew about it, the less likely it was to die out completely after all. Still, she seemed to pepper her speech with more of her native tongue when she was out and about in the evening. She'd have to keep an eye on that.
"Normally a person would be asleep at this time of night."
She sighed at that statement. Didn't she know it. How many nights had she wandered through these trees wishing that she was tucked up in bed, dreaming the night away.
"Normally, people do sleep, yes. Unfortunately, it's been years since I have managed to sleep through a whole night. The nightmares keep me awake long after the turmoil of the day does."

*He was quiet the whole time she spoke. He did not anwer as she mentioned her people or about that she was out there often. He was just standing there listening at this time. The sweat ran down his brow and back. He continued to listen to her as she started talking about the nightmares. He puzzled over what nightmares she could truely have that were that bad.*
"I see, you will have to tell me more about your people some time. Though right this second I am more curious about yout nightmares and what nightmare could be that bad. If it is too personal I understand."
*He was giving her the chance to open up to him. Now it was up to her, weither she wanted him to know about her, or if she was going to keep him in the dark. He just smiled softly and waited to see what she had to say.*

He was quiet and attentive, something she truly liked about the man. He always seemed willing to listen, even if he sometimes misinterpreted what was being said, and he always gave you a chance to explain yourself. There weren't many people like him out there.
"I see, you will have to tell me more about your people some time. Though right this second I am more curious about yout nightmares and what nightmare could be that bad. If it is too personal I understand."
He smiled, as if to let her know that if there was anyone she could trust with this, it was him. She brushed away a sparkle of tears in the corner of her eye. Why was he always so nice to her? She was a complete spaz, a broken person. She doubted she was even worth his time, but it was nice that he thought she was.
"My nightmares are always about Drewe, and they're always the same couple of things. The scariest one, the one that woke me up tonight, was the one where I am sleeping, by myself, in my room. All of a sudden I'm awoken by the feeling of a pair of arms wrapping around my waist, and it's him, and I've never left him . . ."
Involuntarily she shuddered, wrapping her arms around herself and closing her eyes in a very defensive posture. Rarely did she leave herself so exposed. Right now, Hawthorne looked like the frightened little girl she truly was inside, the one that she always hid.

*He watched and listened to her words. She seemed to be trying to tell him just how bad drewe was. He did not know, but he would find out one day.. He vowed silently to him self to hunt this drewe down and see to it that he was never able to harm another girl like he did this one. She was so fragile now, and so scared that she had to put up a shield around her that often seemed like a force field when it came to other males.
He watched her gently wrap her arms around her self and she seemed to scared right now that she could not help but show him her nightmare. He stepped forwad and reached around her holding her gently, yet firmly, waiting for her to calm down again. He would protect her from her nightmare. He knew a thing or two about nightmares, but first he had to gain her trust enough that he could help her.*
"Calm down, you know full well, I will defend you from him. Besides, he can not harm you any more if you do not let him. Be strong and you will defeat him."
*He leaned his head gently against her and closed his own eyes allowing her to take her time. He did not know if his words would mean anything to her, to him it was more of him trying to relax her now, then convince her she was safe. He knew that no one could protact some one for ever, but he always tried so damn hard.*

Re: Sleepness Night ((Open))
She was so insecure when it came to talking about herself, to talking about that man. In fact, usually they were one and the same. It was hard for her to tell where he left off and she began sometimes. She wanted to protect the world from what she had become, to keep them from knowing what lay deepest down within her heart, beneath the tough exterior, beneath the scared, frightened inside . . . the secret kernal deep within her soul that wanted to torture and kill the man who had tortured her for so long.
Jun stepped forward and, involuntarily, Hawthorne flinched. Still, when he wrapped his arms around her, she leaned in towards him, seeking whatever comfort she could from the heat of his sweat-salted flesh and the strength of his arms.
She unwrapped her own arms from around her body and laced them around his chest. She noticed that his musculature was so defined that her hands didn't touch.
"Calm down, you know full well, I will defend you from him. Besides, he can not harm you any more if you do not let him. Be strong and you will defeat him."
She let out a small sob as he laid his head against her hair. How could someone so strong be so gentle? She pressed herself closer to him, as if the physical contact would drive the demons from her mind.
"He's like a dark shadow that haunts my footsteps. I've run from him for so long that I've forgotten how to live. I thought that leaving him would set me free, but it gave him even more control over my life, the only difference was that he wasn't there. Only when I closed my eyes . . . I rarely sleep anymore."

*He smiled and held her tightly as she seemed like she really needed a friend right now. She needed some one to keep her safe and be there for her. He was willing to help her as much as he could.
She spoke about the man and how he controled her when she had left. He was not sure how that worked, because as far as he knew, when you left you could leave all troubles behind. After all he had done it before and it worked wonders.*
"You just need to remember that he is not here and he can not harm you. You are a stronger person now and he is nothing to you. You even alone could defeat him with your words alone. He is weak compaired to you. You just need to relax and let your body let him go. When next you try to think, instead of thinking about him, think about the man you are most interested in, or think about the person you trust most and think of nothing else and you will be fine."
*He sighed, his breath moved her hair lightly. He closed his eyes and waited for her to speak. He was being as careful as he could with her.*

Re: Sleepness Night ((Open))
Hawthorne took comfort in the tight embrace, knowing that this was as close as she would ever get to the enigmatic man in front of her. There had once been a chance between the two teens, but it had slipped through her fingers in a torrent of emotional overload, and then it was gone. Still, she could enjoy the fact that Jun still was willing to comfort, protect, and support her.
Words were so simple, when one didn't understand the life she had been living. Every moment on edge, willing to take off at the slightest indication that HE was approaching. Junping at shadows, being certain that the one you feared most would come rearing up out of them to engulf you in his darkness once more. It wasn't a good way to live. She choked on her words, and started pulling away from the samurai.
"He's not here now, but he could be. Every second of every day I have to be aware of my surroundings, ever vigilant. I keep forgetting that, getting wrapped up in the now, and forgetting about Him. I've even spent money from my escape fund. If he finds me now I might not get far enough away to escape him completely. I'm not strong enough to face him, even if you think I am. I was strong when I was with him, until he appeared, his prescence saps my strength away, leaves me his spineless little puppet."
She sighed, turning her face away and whiping the tears from her cheeks. So many things could be said here, so many little issues could be aired, but did she really want to expose herself enough to let them into the open? It was a hard call. She certainly trusted Jun-Bo more than any man alive, but was that enough? Could she let that be enough?
"When I think about the guy I'm interested in, and he is the one I trust the most, I leave myself exposed, emotional. It's . . . a hard place for me to allow myself to dwell in. I've gaurded my thoughts for so long . . . But being near him makes me feel safe, and that's the most frightening part of all."
Stormy grey eyes looked up through tear-soaked lashes at the strong individual who was the subject of all her daydreams. All her musings. How could she tell him? How could she let him know that the only time she didn't fear Drewe's prescence was when he was at her side?

*He listened to her calmly as she spoke of the man. He was curious about what a man had to do, to gain this much power over a person. It was too much power for one man to have. He was certionly going to have to destory this man. This girl was in too much pain for him to be left alive and kicking. He made up his mind that if he ever met the man, he was going to finish him, once and for all. The man had no right to live.*
"I believe you are strong, because you show your strength to the world. You only, need to allow you presence of mind to remain strong when he is around and you have won the fight. He is far from being powerful or strong compaired to the strength you have in heart and will."
*She pulled back from him so she could look at him. He smiled softly and reached over ruffling her hair gently with his soft smile. To him she was a good friend that deserved to live. He would have to find a way to make her more comfortable.*
"Would you sleep better and be more at ease, if I gave you a device to call me if he came around?"
*He was thinking of buying a simple two way device that would let her push it and it would tell him she was in danger.*

She was glad that Jun was such a good listener, what she would do to have him listen to her forever. She could see herself becoming to this man what she had been for Drewe, if only he would give her another chance. She would be whatever he wanted. She laughed bitterly. He thought she was strong, but she had always found her strength by burying herself in someone else's ideal of her.
"I believe you are strong, because you show your strength to the world. You only, need to allow you presence of mind to remain strong when he is around and you have won the fight. He is far from being powerful or strong compaired to the strength you have in heart and will."
"Thank you for your belief in me, as misplaced as it might be. I do appreciate having someone who has faith in me, though it is useless until I have it in myself. I just . . . I wish I could get the part of me back that he broke."
Jun ruffled her hair, making her smile with true affection. He always seemed to know how to make her feel loved, platonically of course. That was all that she would get with him though, and she'd take it. After all, something was better than nothing, and a good friend was definitely something.
"Would you sleep better and be more at ease, if I gave you a device to call me if he came around?"
"I honestly don't know Jun-Bo. I know in my mind that you are strong, but in my heart there is so much fear of Drewe that I picture him as too big to defeat. Though, the more I think on it, the more it seems that you would be the victor, you're so tough, but he has rather strong convinction on his side."
It was an interesting thought, and she considered it. Being able to talk to Jun as soon as she was in danger would be a treasure, for sure. Still, she wasn't sure if she could handle it or not. What if she lost the device? And it was a really big sign of trust, commitment to such an action . . .
"I think it would be worth a try though, anything to get some sleep. I haven't made it through a night in four years . . ."

*He smiled as she thanked him for have faith in her. He smiled and listened to her as she talked about the man, she was scared of. He sighed lightly as she said that she was not strong. He found it truely sad when some one believed that they were weak. He had never in his life believed he was weak. That was probelly why he had never been weak.*
"I do not believe any one is truely weak. Each has their own strength. They just have to find it and believe in it. And you still have the part he broke, you just hide it away from your self."
*She then started talking about how she thought Drewe was stronger then him. He smirked lightly and looked to he wondering lightly why she would think this. He was nothing too powerful he was sure. She spoke of his conviction. It puzzled him how some one could consider him having more.*
"Ah well, I doubt he does. Oh well, we will find out when he meets me. When we meet he will have his hands full, if not over flowing. I am going to make sure he never messes with you or another girl like that again."
*He smiled as she thought about useing the device and weither it would help her sleep. He thought about where he was going to get the device at. It was not that big of a deal, he could have one ordered from japan if nothing else. The device he had in mind would give them a three mile range to keep in touch. It would let her get ahold of him, nearly any where he went to train, and then it was only a matter of him getting back to where she was to help her out.*
"Ok I will get ahold of the devices and give one to you once I have them."

If one person was removed, the flow would be altered and everyone in the world is effected even if only on the most basic level. Life is very nice that way. But there are some people out there who have bad chi or life flow and effect everyone in a bad way. They are the ones that need to be removed. When the balance between good and bad chi is upset nature changes. If it shifts to the good side, nature will grew and become stronger. The world becomes more pure and more close to natural. If it shifts to bad, the nature around us starts to die. It can cause the nature around us to rear up and attack us with storms and earthquakes.

Re: Sleepness Night ((Open))
She hated herself for her weakness, it was the part of herself that she dispised the most. This need for someone bigger, someone stronger, to protect her from her nightmares. It wasn't right. She prided herself in her self-sufficience, but it was a hollow pride, for she didn't have the strength to depend on solely herself. Some day she would, just not today.
"I do not believe any one is truely weak. Each has their own strength. They just have to find it and believe in it. And you still have the part he broke, you just hide it away from your self."
Jun-Bo was a deep thinker, and when he spoke new ideas and thoughts swirled through Hawthorne's head. He introduced so many new concepts. Could she really have an inner strength? Not just the one she pretended to have on the outside? The thought stunned her. How could someone have so much faith in a person who had revealed herself so in need of protection?
So many people who did bad things were completely convinced that they were in the right, but Jun seemed to be someone who did good things that was just as convinced. Perhaps he could beat Drewe on sheer desire alone. He was so sure that the other man deserved what he was getting. That alone was a lot of what was required.
"Ah well, I doubt he does. Oh well, we will find out when he meets me. When we meet he will have his hands full, if not over flowing. I am going to make sure he never messes with you or another girl like that again."
"Jun-Bo, I don't know how anyone could feel unsafe with you around to protect them. I feel safer just being here with you. It's not often that I feel this secure, especially around a guy. I know that's not fair, but I don't know how to be any different, I wish I could trust as easily as you seem to . . ."
Her voice faded, there was so much fear, so much insecurity revealed in those few short phrases, that she wasn't sure how Jun would take it. Hawthorne wasn't used to sharing so much of the inner workings of her minds with someone else. She didn't know why or how Jun had earned so much of her trust, but he had, in spite of herself.
"Ok I will get ahold of the devices and give one to you once I have them."
"Thank you, I'm sure it will help keep most of the nightmares at bay."
How she longed for the day when she no longer had to fear that Drewe would spring out of every dark corner and grab hold of her. She no longer feared what lengths she herself would be forced to should such a thing happen. Perhaps her darker nature might finally reveal itself, since she was fairly certain all human beings had one, hers had just been repressed over the years.

*He smiled as she said that no one would be able to not feel safe around him. He wondered if that was true. Ya he protected everyone around him, but does everyone truely feel safe around him. It was an interesting thought.*
"I am glad you feel safe around him. It is the least I can do for you. And yes I would protect you from anything. I am not as trusting as you probelly think. I am just confident enough, that I do not worry about others. It allows me to be me even with some one I have never met."
*He snickered and turned to look into the forest. He looked over the trees and wondered what they were going to do. It was quite interesting the way nature moved around them. If they keep this up the world would pass them by. The devices were mentioned as well. He nodded lightly.*
"I am glad it will help you. It is all good then."

Re: Sleepness Night ((Open)) "I am glad it will help you. It is all good then."
She only wished that it was all good. Still, she knew that despite it all sleep would continue to escape her this night. If her nightmares about Drewe didn't return, she would be plagued by thoughts of Jun, the other constant disturbance to her sleep. At least that would be pleasant.
She looked at the man as he turned to look into the woods, using his moment of distraction to study his profile in full. If he would haunt her night-time wanderings she wanted to get every handsome inch of him down right. Hawthorne had encountered many beautiful men since coming to Manga High School, but Jun-Bo, at least to her, was still the most attractive of the lot.
It wasn't just his good looks and strong physique either. It was the confident way he took people under his wing, smiling and non-judgemental. It was the way he set out to help everyone attain their goals, no matter what kinda tiff sprouted up between the two of them. And, most importantly, it was the way his very prescence drove the demons from her mind, feeling her with a gentle feeling of security, which she never seemed to find on her own.
Quietly, her words barely above the whisper of the wind, she murmured a simple phrase in the language of her people. Even if Jun-Bo heard the words, he wouldn't understand what she was saying, but the emotion was so strong that she had to let it out.

*He wondered what was up with her. She seemed to be very stressed out and wanting to say something very much. He snickered lightly and moved over sitting down with his back to the big tree he had been hitting. He smiled and looked up to her as she continued to stand there thinking and then she spoke some words in her own lanauge, he could ask her what she, said but did not. She had not wanted him to know what it was.*
"Come here and sit with me."
*He smiled and patted the ground between his legs. Yes he meant to have her sit with her back to him between his legs. It was nothing sexual about it, he had an idea in mind and was going to see if it worked for her. He was waiting for her to come sit with him. He had a bag, sitting aside from him, along the tree.*
"I think this will help."

She cursed herself as seven kinds of fool. Of course he would hear her, he heard everything. Still, he didn't ask, which she appreciated. Some things were better left unsaid between friends, especially those with a history of disturbance like theirs. Her words would only upset him if he understood, but for her own piece of mind she had to air them.
"Come here and sit with me."
The request was gentle, and she looked over to where Jun-Bo was seated. He patted the ground between his legs, and she hesitated for a moment, and then gave in. After all, if she couldn't trust Jun-Bo, who could she trust? With a small smile, she moved over and sad where he had patted, resting her head against his thigh in a friendly manner.
"I think this will help."
She was curious as to what Jun meant by help, and twisted a bit, resting one hand where her head had been a moment before, and looking up into his eyes. She was completely unaware of how the situation may look, with her perched between his legs, looking up into his face, but even if she had been it wouldn't matter.
"I'm not sure what you're about to do, but I want you to know that I trust you, and I appreciate your helping me. Thank you for being like a Maengun, a wolf guarding me through everything that happens. I appreciate it."
