Some thoughts....
Now I am not normally easily offended by graphic stuff but Ken's thread p077.ezboard.com/fdahuieverquestquelliousguildfrm2.showMessage?topicID=1465.topic went beyond it. Not to say we by any means are censors. I chose to read it even though there were no warnings how it was so non-female friendly. Things like this labels Da Hui when it is out on the general forums for everyone to read. It kinda bothers me.
I know Bok and the rest of you guys can be extremely crude but for the most part you kept it in /gu. I dont want this to be a "ketre hates ken" thing cause thats not true either.
I sit here trying to figure out if I am just in one of my many many moods. But I just came home from the elementary school for field day. All had fun and everyone is in good spirits so I dont think that is it.
The things that are happening to DH are happening to all guilds. People are over the crap of "patches" and all that other junk and leaving for other games. Alot is that its summer time and people are OUT of the house more.
Yes I am rambling....... but just some of my thoughts being thrown out there.

I think it labels Ken more then it labels DH.
Also, it really has nothing to do with you being a woman. I read it until I hit the second one that made me go "sick bastards" and then I closed the browser and went on to something else.

can i disagree with you without you hating me? Cause I don't think it's exactly a secret that I like you and would like to make you happy, but I don't agree with you... and It's not because i DO like Ken but I think he put adequate disclaimers on there that it was something offensive.

While I don't play I still browser the boards many many times a day and do take moderating seriously. Some of the things people have posted, I have frowned upon, and yes, Ken's avatar is one of those. But when you go to the Safehouse, they moderate the shit out of everything. I hate the safehouse, especially because one of the things they like to moderate the shit out of is personal attacks. That sounds good in theory but in practice, they edit everyone's posts for even the slightest negative comment... but not evenly. A lightly negative comment from a newer user will be edited immediately, and a heavily negative comment from a long time member will generally be left alone.
The point is I don't moderate based on either the longevity of the poster, and if it's something that's offensive, it has to really be offensive for me to remove it. Part of the reason we got a gold board was to allow profantity because it's fun calling someone a fucksock or a cockbite and I find this to be in the same vein. But this time of somewhat offensive crude material is something we have balancing issues since Bok started posting (ie the beginning) and it's a little late to start warning people on questionable material now.
Mind you, were there no disclaimer then I would agree 100% and move it and ask Ken to watch it. I feel it was accurately labeled and so appropriate.

I have avoided Kenlaien's posts since about 5 days after he became a recruit. This isn't the first time he's posted something offensive to women (or humans in general), and probably won't be the last, since Da Hui is loathe to censor anyone. Our options are rather limited because of that fact. Kenlaien himself is a pretty run-o-the-mill vulgar dude, like you'd find in any run-o-the-mill frat house. He finds this stuff amusing for whatever reason, and judging from the kinds of responses he gets to his posts ("YOU ARE SO FUNNY, KEN!!!), there are plenty of others who also find it amusing. I have waited and waited for some True Paladin to step up to the plate and tell him to chill out, but alas, there ain't many guys who are willing to stick it out there like that. They'd just being inviting criticism. And I can't even imagine the kinds of names that would get tossed at any female who tried to rein him in a little.("PRUDE" ?? "ICE QUEEN" ??) Forget it, heh.
Anyways....best thing to do is probably try to ignore him. His little bouncing boobs/nekkid bottom avatars annoy me everytime I come across them.
I hope God blesses him with many, many daughters: it would be interesting to see him deal with a Kenlaien Jr. trying to date one of them.

My point is this should not be in the general forum but in the /gu one. I can not say that without Ken thinking that I am picking on him.
I am 37 years old about to be 38. (damn i am old) I grew up will all guys, i hang out will all guys, i go camping and fishing with all guys (and no, not my sons). This guild is 95 percent MALE. It is really hard to offend me. Piss me off, yar that is alot easier. But even Bok knew that when one of our few "gurls" came into /gu then he tapered what he would say. One of the reasons that i added to that thread that it is not female friendly becuase it isn't. It would be different if one or two things were stated but in its intirety, its a complete degredation of women and we can debate for hours over it. But again, i am rambling.
Thank you for adding to its title that it was not female friendly.
