Steph's Quidditch Boot Camp (AKA Gryffindor Tryouts)
The intensity level was going to be high. Steph Martin wouldn't captain a losing team, no way, no how. They were going to be unbeatable, unstoppable, unbelievable. Of course, the vivacious blond was setting impossible standards for herself, but why not strive to make her dreams come true.

She paced the pitch, looking around through her blue eyes, frustrated that no one had showed up yet. She was very antsy; so overly eager to start. She kicked up into the air on her broom, immediately landing to see if someone had arrived to try out or to practice. She repeated this action several times until finally someone arrived...

Steph seemed so intense, so antsy, that Murph was almost afraid to approach the older girl, but she determinedly did so, clutching a broom in her hand. 'This is for you, Dad,' Murph thought with a grim smile, remembering how much she and her father had loved to lazily fly about in the afternoons, training her for this moment, this opportunity.

"Uh, Steph? I was wondering if I could try out for Beater," Murph announced, clearing her throat to catch the blondes attention.

Less then a minute after Murph arrived at the quidditch field Annie arrived. Last year the blond has been a reserve keeper on the Gryffindor team but now she was an actual keeper. Annie had not like being a reserve because she never got to play quidditch in actual games. This year would be different.

"Hi," Annie said to Steph since she figured she should say something to the captain so that she would notice she was here.

Not long after Annie arrived at the quidditch field Brett arrived there. He was extremly nervous but he had always wanted to be on the quidditch team. He didn't think he was a great quidditch player but he did think he was pretty good.

"Can I try out for a chaser postion?" Brett asked Steph nervously.

Haley Davis entered the Pitch, her Nimbus slung over her shoulder. She had a broad grin on her face, and was ready to see the potential Gryffindor Quidditch team. She walked over towards the tiny group of her team, and people who wanted to be on the team. "Hey Steph, hey Murph. Hey everyone else." She said, while studying the tryout players.

"Everyone's welcome to try out," Steph said warmly, before her tone turned serious. "But be warned-you're going to have to fight long and hard to earn your way onto this team. And once you're on-if you're on-don't think that means it's time to slack off or relax. We're going to work five times as hard as the other teams. We're going to be in the best shape, be the most practiced, and have the most chemistry together. We're going to work as a team, and as a result we're going to be an AWESOME team-but don't think it's just something you can take lightly. You all have to be dedicated-or else," the blond added, trying her hardest not to sound too threatening. She knew she might be intimidating, but she refused to lose-she was going to be the one Martin to captain a winning team, and she wouldn't let her three best guy friends-the other teams captains-crush her dreams the same way that they had broken her heart.

"So, if you still want to be here, fly the obstacle course-I don't care who goes first, just somebody go and I don't want to hear any fuss about it," she added.

Haley looked at Steph, quite amused at how she was handling the try-out players. She grinned, and clapped at her job. She had never seen Steph that way before, and she was equally amused and intimidated.

"Kick butt, and take no prisoners!" Haley said, to encourage the players.

"Wow-intense much?" Lucy Marshall asked quietly to Haley, although the Seeker was definitely amused.

Haley nodded, silently, a grin still on her pretty face. "Harsh, but true. I've been watchin' Chris, Ben, and Bryan at try-outs. They've been really stern, too, but they're gettin' some real good players recruited on their teams. There's gunna be a TON of competition this year, but the way Steph's handlin' it, I'm position we'll come out on top." She whispered back to Lucy, confidently.

"Wow... I'm really not sure whether to be intimidated or just plain old impressed," Allie Montgomery said in awed respect at hearing Steph's speech. She had no inkling to back down now, though-she was here for a Beater spot and she was going to get it.

Before anyone else had the opportunity, Allie mounted her broom, prepared to set off on the obstacle course. She kicked off lightly from the ground, with just the right touch to get her airborne without putting her out of her own control. She did an about face on her broom, facing towards the course, staring it down. Then, without warning, she began with a burt of speed, heading straight for a floating brick wall. At the last second she pulled up, showing off her skill of avoiding running into things in her close proximity, and she looped above it, proceeding past and towards a floating patch of vines. There was a very small hole in the center, and Allie tucked herself close to her broom, allowing her to fit through the close quarters, right to where three bowling balls were flying towards her, She rolled over on her broom, preventing them from smashing into her torso, and then had to immediately dive back down, going under an electrical current. She scraped the air, just above the ground, to avoid it, and finally landed quietly. She hadn't gone through everything, but wasn't quite sure which route Steph had wanted her to take-Allie cursed herself for not asking for specific directions before just taking off. She had flown quite well, though, even the confidence-lacking girl could admit that. Flying had always come naturally to her,a fter all.

Steph watched through her crystal blue eyes, somewhat impressed by the raw talent Allie seemed to posess. She turned to Lucy and Haley, her returning players, for their opinions-if this team was going to work, she couldn't only base her decisions off her own judgement

Haley looked at Steph, as she turned to them. She nodded, a yes, and gave a stuck her thumb out sideways, as a potiental yes, meaning she was a maybe. Allie had great broom handling skills, but to her, they still needed to see some more of her Quidditch skills, rather than flying skills.
