Talk to Me 1/?
Author’s Note: This take’s place after Elizabeth finds out about Sonny’s death. Everything is different from there on including Elizabeth walking out on Jason. She never spoke to him she had already left before he made it back to the penthouse.
-Part One-
Jake’s
The bar was crowded as usual on a Saturday night. Jason Morgan walked in and spotted his good friend and ex-landlord. “Hey Jake,” he said as he sat down on a barstool.
“Hey to you Jase. How the hell have you been? You haven’t been in here for awhile.” She placed a beer in front of her favorite patron.
“I’ve been busy lately with the warehouse and ‘business’,” Jason was glad that Jake knew about his other job. She knew when to keep secrets and Jason trusted her, which spoke volumes of her character.
“I heard that Elizabeth moved out. I’m sorry hun,” she said placing a comforting hand on his arm.
He was quiet. Not a rare trait for the man in front of her, but this quiet scared Jake. She knew how much Jason loved Elizabeth, even if he didn’t want to admit it yet. “She left me. She left me because I lied to her about Sonny.”
“Let’s go in the back office and discuss this hun.” Jake led the broken-hearted man to a small room down the poorly lit hallway.
As they entered the confined space a rush of memories flooded Jason’s mind. He used to sit back here for hours doing the books for Jake.
Jake took her seat behind the cluttered desk and stared at the sullen man across from her. “Jase, I don’t think that is the reason why Elizabeth left. She understands the business, and hun she has faked her own death before. She knows that the fewer people the better.”
“Then why did she leave me?” he asked as the tears started to fall.
She reached across the desk and placed her hand on top of his hand. “Only Elizabeth can answer that. Did she say anything to you before she left?”
Jason looked up, his eyes red and glistening from the many tears he shed. “She just left me this,” he said pulling out a piece of paper out of his jacket pocket closest to his heart. He handed it to her as his next stream of tears fell.
Jake opened the folded piece of paper. There was one word written on the inside: Good-bye. Her heart broke for her favorite two people.
“She said good-bye Jake. We never say good-bye, it’s always see you later!” he sobbed, “I didn’t even get a chance to explain.”
“When was the last time you saw her?”
“This morning. Only she didn’t see me. I was on my way to the warehouse. When I stopped on the docks to watch her sketch. I watched her for about an hour before she left to head to Kelly’s.
“Then I suggest you go see her. Make her listen. I know Elizabeth and so do you, she was probably hurt that yous kept her out of the loop but I think that it’s something else that’s bothering her,” Jake stated, unsure if she was getting through to him.
“Jake I don’t know if I can fix this, she said good-bye.”
“Well the Jason Morgan that I know would not leave it at that. He’d fight for what he wants. So with some help I’m sure we can get this misunderstanding resolved. Here’s what we’re going to do…
