Talk to Me 5/?
-Part Five-
Elizabeth woke up late. Last night took all of her energy. All she did was cry, and then cry some more. She missed Jason so much. But she said good-bye, it was all her fault. Now they would never have a chance to be together.
Elizabeth rolled over in bed. Oh how she didn’t want to leave the comfort of the studio. Her studio…their safe haven from the rest of the world.
“Stop it,” she yelled at herself, “you need to move on. You did this to yourself, now live with it!”

Jason sat in his office going over invoices. It was a slow day, but he needed to stay busy.
Sonny walked through the door, “Hey man. Any problems this morning?”
“No. How was your morning? Where did you go anyway?” Jason inquired.
“Everything went fine. We just went for coffee and then Carly went to see Bobbie.”
Jason just sat there not moving, not really even listening. All he could think about was the petite brunette who held his heart in one hand and took a bat to it with the other. Good-bye. How could she say good-bye? That’s all he thought about for a week. He would give up everything to go back and change things.
The first thing he’d do is tell her about Sonny. He trusted her with his life, with his family’s lives. Secondly, he would stop dancing around the issue and tell her how much he loves her. Third, he’d hold on and never let go. In one word he would fight.
“Earth to Jason,” Sonny said waving his hand in front of Jason’s face. Jason snapped out of his thoughts. “What were you thinking about?”
“About how messed up my life is. About how all I can think about is what if.”
“I’m sorry man. I know that this was all my fault. I knew that Elizabeth could be trusted, I screwed up.”
“But for once in my life Sonny I shouldn’t have listened to you. It’s my fault that this happened. I didn’t have enough balls to disobey your orders, afraid that you would see me as disloyal.”
Sonny finally realized how much inner turmoil Jason was facing. After all he had told Carly, it should’ve been fair to tell Elizabeth. And Jason was probably right about the whole disloyal thing. “I really am a bastard. Aren’t I?”
“Do you really want me to answer that?” Jason laughed.

Carly walked into Kelly’s to see Elizabeth behind the counter. They hadn’t talked in a week. The young artist had really grown on Carly.
Elizabeth looked up from cleaning the counter. “What can I get you?” she asked plastering a fake smile on her face. These days she really didn’t have anything to smile about.
“Can I get a cup of coffee, and do you know when my mom will be here?”
Elizabeth tipped over the cup in front of the blonde and poured the dark hot liquid in. “Well she called and said she got called to the hospital. Sorry.”
“Elizabeth,” Carly said quietly, “I know that you are probably pissed at me, well more than usual. I just wanted to apologize for not telling you about Sonny.”
“Carly it wasn’t your place. I just feel really ridiculous comforting you when it was all a ruse.”
“About that, I wanted to say thank you. I never gave you a reason to be nice to me, but despite that you helped take care of me and Michael and for that I wanted to let you know my opinion of you has changed. I really hope that one day you can forgive me and this may be pushing it but I’d really like to become friends.”
“I admit that I was hurt Carly. But I thought that you were in agony. And even though we didn’t get along, I already knew what it was like to lose someone you love. And then when Jason almost died,” a single tear slipped down her face. “I just sympathized with what you were feeling. Plus Sonny was always there for me and he was my friend.”
“So truce?” Carly asked.
“Truce. And we’ll work on the friend thing.”
“I’d really like that,” Carly smiled getting up and walking out. She paused as she opened the door, “For what it’s worth I know that Jason has been as miserable as you have been this week. And I promise if you work it out you have my full blessing. Bye.”
Elizabeth stood there for a minute still shocked at what had just transpired. Carly was actually nice and sincere.
“Did hell just freeze over?”
Reality is for people who lack imagination.
