Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors
Eleven thirty. He could tell the time just by looking up at the moon. It was a skill he had been taught long ago and honned on nights like these. These nights would forever scar him, driving him towards the dark place in his mind that constantly haunted him. He knew it was his job, but it seemed like it was a futile effort, only made to delve deeper into something he was truly afraid of. Alas, he was here anyways, at elven thirty at night, ready to do business.
The amusment park that lay before him was a haunted mirror of the brightly lit carnival of the daytime. He had been here the past couple of days, scouting for potential threats. His efforts had proven fruitful and now he was ready to take his cause to the enemy. His purging would be swift, having to end before sunrise. It was the way the dunpeal hunted, and his pray would soon be exterminated.
This hunt would be no ordinary hunt, however. The demonic presence before him was of untold numbers of unknown strength. There could be one cultist or one thousand greater demons waiting for him in that amusment park, but he felt no fear in the challenge. He was expecting the worst, yet hoping for the best and there was only one way to find out...
With a soaring leap, Vash went from the outskirts to the ferris wheel. His hand clung onto the supports, his feet pressing against the beams to hold himself against the vertical surface. Looking around, he saw nothing out of the ordinary and let go, sliding down the supports until finally landing by the entrance to the park. Another quick scan revealed himself to not be in any immediate danger. With a sigh of relief and a quick readjustment to his focus, the dunpeal quickly gathered up his courage and prepared for a very long night.
Inside the amusement park, quiet, and alone. Though oddly visible, Vash might notice something. A person standing in the shadows. Not trying to hide himself, but not making himself readily visible. He just seems to be there.
A young man not to tall, dressed in a long black trench coat. His dark hair falls over his eyes and seems to be slightly long enough to obscure his face from any immediate recognition.
The lone person leans back against the wall, as he watches the dunpeal through his dark eyes. Does he recognize Vash? Perhaps. But does Vash recognize him? Most likely not. This person who watches Vash is not anyone he has recently seen. He might even be Vash's first foe for the night. But non the less. He stays his place and watches the dunpeal as he moves.
This is where I put more of my random thoughts. :)
Has everyone heard, there have been attacks in the forest. More and more students are showing up in Mrs Hanabishi's ward by the day. What's going on. It's the talk of the school.

Re: The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors
That emptiness. It was all too familiar to the dunpeal when it brought the scene to a hush. He knew that sound, or lack there of. He could identify that scent a mile away. The hunter could almost feel the presence of the boy looming over him. He held the hilt of his sword even tighter, swinging it around once in his hand to reaffirm his grip. If it wasn't who he thought it was, he would be in need of a weapon. You just couldn't take chances in a place like this.
"Karrody?" he asked, his voice not trailing off into nothingness.
That simple fact brought doubt. Why would he be walking around with his audibus active? Had he become that skilled at stealth that he could sneak up on even the hunter himself? He knew his colligue was skilled in the art of stealth, but he had never encountered such a problem before. Now the dunpeal's mind was racing, trying to make up excuses as to why he should wait to strike. Though he had every doubt to believe it was another demon about tospring an attack, he waited just a moment longer, hoping it truly was his unofficial partner.
Re: The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors
A slight movement of his head as Vash says a name he hasn't spoken by another in a while. His hair may be longer, but it falls at the angle that he is recognized for. 4 months have passed, maybe more since he last saw the dunpeal. Karrody's calm seems to have given off the obvious that he isn't the person he was last time Vash spoke to him.
He has no needs to chase skirts. That knowledge came to him while he was away. His young mind allowed him to think about things that didn't matter. Yet while he was away he was able to put his priorities back in order.
"It has been awhile." The words come from his mouth with a cold strength. The french accent that he speaks with seems slightly different.
"You still after that old man?" Karrody asks as he walks slowly out of the shadow of the building.

Re: The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors"It has been awhile."
A single smirk from Vash was enough of a tell tale sign to know he was pleased. His right fang gleamed in the moonlight while he slowly loosened his grip on the hilt of Judgement. Quite the blessing you have given me, father he thought as his head slowly turned to look at the boy. His trademark red eyes were glowing vibratly underneath the shadows of the brim of his hat. It looked quite demonic, but then again, he was too.
"You still after that old man?"
"Hmph..." was his reply, along with a low growl.
Vash wasn't exactly sure if Karrody was insulting him or simply asking a question. It was difficult to tell in a race that prided itself on their boundless amounts of unnatural strength and merciless slaughter of their enemies. The hunter, however, kept his smirk throughout. No matter what Karrody believed, he was glad to have him by his side right now. Even with the development of the hunter's own skills, he would most likely need a few extra able bodies to take down the entire carnival. After all, he wasn't particularly sure what was creeping in the shadows anymore.
"So what brings you here?" he asked, nonchalantly while he let put his eyes to a more productive task: scanning the area.
Re: The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors
As Vash replies in kind ignoring Karrody's question, which is enough of an answer for him he stepped into the middle of the path closer to Vash to allow the two to speak in more measurable tones.
To Vash's question Karrody has a smirk on his face as he replies, now beside the dunpeal. "Life." Then a pause as Karrody notices the irony in his simple answer, so he continues. "Or the lack there of one might say."
The shadows nearest them seem to play in the moonlight, wavering in there strength as the two hunters walk past. Karrody looks to the sky and almost feels the urge to smile before bringing his gaze level just as something seems to skate across there path. Though noticeable to both of them, yet still far enough away if they were to make chase it would simply be wasted energy.

Re: The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors
Karrody's answer was quite bland, as usual. He seemed to always have some witty quip that wasn't as amusing as he might have thought they were. The other dunpeal had somewhat of a dry humour that Vash typically respected, but this was not the time. The hunter had a business-like demeanor about him. He had no time for puns, he needed to wipe out the existing plague of darkness that clouded this carnival.
Then, a shadow danced across the moon beams shining down from the sky. Vash's eyes shifted to watch as it streaked across the open, lit up space and dashed back into the darkness. He could sense that KArrody had seen the rpesence too. Whatever it was, it stood no chance alone as far as Vash was conserned. He shifted his eyes back to his partner, drawing his sword to indicate his intentions.
"Shall we begin, then?" he asked, a slight smirk crossing the hunter's face.
Re: The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors
A glimmer of white is what Vash sees as Karrody allows his predetory nature to take over, and an animalistic smirk is seen, exposing a small part of his teeth. Perhaps an answer enough, and Karrody simply turns the same direction as Vash while walking behind him.
Looking around any who might look down upon Vash would think him alone. Yet Vash knows him better to think that Karrody would have suddenly left. Which he hasn't. Karrody walks just infront of the dunpeal, one of his wakazashi's at the ready in his left hand, and a small tai in his right hand. He still has four other blades, but might be used later.
Karrody listens to anything on the outside as he and Vash walk in silence. No sound heard from either of the two hunters, adding to the silence of there movements Karrody's 'Audibus' allows them to make no noise while still being able to hear any sound from outside there person.
This is where I put more of my random thoughts. :)

Re: The Hunt: The Carnival of Mirrors
Vash's eyes followed the half-vampire until something in his mind clicked. It was like a spark, a self-realisation that nothing was there. A blink and he was gone. The initial shock overwhelmed him. The dunpeal would never get used to being affected by that mind trick. However, this time around, it took a few extra moments to sink in. Even then, he was skeptical about what happened. It had been so long since his mind had been subjected to the brainwashing of Karrody's "Mind's Shadow".
It was the hunter's first steps that made it click. Complete silence had enveloped the area around him. He stomped hard, dust billowing around his foot while a smirk crossed his face. He shook his head, embarassed that he even forgot about the bloodline gifts Karrody posessed. He had always secretly been jealous of at least the half-vampire's Audibous. Such a useful skill, drowning out sound inside the area but funneling in the noise outside. It brought stealth to a whole new level.
They began to walk, down the main street of the carnival. Vash shifted his eyes around the many attractions, slowly making his way forwards. He could feel something demonic in the air. He could feel the eyes of hell watching him. Then, the moans of the undead, cackling at points. From the shadows skulked a group of zombies, all dressed like clowns of one ilk or another. They were thrashed and brutally beaten from the looks of their corpses. Something else must here was pulling the strings. For now, the hunter readied his sword in his classic Divine Cross stance, watching as the zombie clowns surrounded the pair. From the looks of it, they would have quite a few zombies to wade through before moving on.
