Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

The Return...(Open)
It was late at night when the cab driver pulled up to the school. Lights had been flashing over his passanger's face, but the large hat was too concealing for the cabbie to get a good look. Now that they were at their destination, the cab driver looked back at the boy. He wasn't sure if he had fallen asleep or was just deadly quiet.
"We're here..." the cab driver announced quietly.
The boy gave him a tip of his hat and then exited the car in one fluent motion. The brisk autumn air broke against his face and as he breathed he could see it linger in the air for a moment before dirfting off. As he moved to the trunk of the car, the cab driver looked at him curiously through the back windshield. He seemed to have a very haunting presence about him, an unnatural side. The boy simply grabbed his duffle bag from the trunk and satred back at the cabbie for a moment, making him break his stare. Such an evil presence...
"Thank you very much, sir." Vash said in his distinct American Romanian accent as he handed over his money. "Your services were most plesent."
With a slight nod of gratitude for the dunpeal's kindness, the cabbie drove off into the night. Vash was left alone to stare at the campus he had once lived in. The shadows danced around the buildings, leaving an uneasy feeling that Vash enjoyed. Thoughts of his nightly rounds filled his head and made him feel better about his decision to come back. Maybe he would take tomorrow night off to visit his friends? The thought comforted him even further. His friends...Yakoutio, Genevieve, Karrody...Amber...
He sighed, trying to get his mind out of the clouds. He had so many things to get done before he could start thinking again. He took a single step forward, stopping ocne more and looking at the campus again. The wind howled, urging him to stay awhile and listen to the sounds of the night and drift off into his bliss filled thoughts.
"Maybe just a few more minutes..." he thought, smirking to himself as he stood in the darkness and let his memories overtake him.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Re: The Return...(Open)
A figure broke from a distant stare, staring down from the roof; a normal nightly routine when one constantly could not rest easy. There were few people who would be awake during the late night hours and so it would immediately catch her attention when there was such movement. A cab came and left, leaving someone standing and staring around the campus.
A glimmer from her pendulum, a warm and familiar light attributed to only one person. The figure was out of sight, her attention now on the flickering light inside the crystal pendulum.
"...is it really?" And Amber would be quick to act, hopping down flights of stairs in a state of hopeful euphoria. She would come close to tripping, but her wings kept her balanced. It very well could be him, he had vanished so suddenly! Amber had worried, wondered if he was even alive though she should know better.
Is it really?
A cautious push of the door winged girl peeked out into the Quad. It was the silent of the night, and him; hopefully not a mere ghost or hallucination waiting for her. She took a breath, stepped out, careful to make sure the door didn't shut too loudly behind her.
And then she waited, clasping the pulsing pendulum in her hands. Maybe she didn't believe that it was him, or she was too overjoyed and nervous to speak up immediately. Finally, she said in that gentle, hopeful voice:
Re: The Return...(Open)
The squeek of the hinges on the door made Vash snap out of his thoughts. His eyes quickly focused in on a figure that was creeping out of the main building. He was confused as to who would be up this late. His mind was already reeling with question and thoughts, he didn't need anything else on his mind. The figure simply stood there, though, starring back at him. It gripped something tightly in it's hand, though more ina caring way. Vash raised an invisible eyebrow underneath the shadows of his hat, tyring to figure out who it was.
The voice then rang out across the campus. One simple word spoke volumes for him. He had no idea why he didn't think of it before. His smirk grew into a smile as he heard amber call out his name questioningly. Finally, a shape was starting to form in the shadows of the building behind her. The frilly black dress, coppering blond hair, the large black eyes and those snow white wings. His vision was slowly adjusting and it was a sight for sore eyes. He only had one, similar thing to say, though.
"Amber..."
His voice was welcoming rather than the cold tone it used to hold. His smile was the obvious sign, though. the only strange thing was neither person was willing to move. The moment seemed so perfect, so euphoric that both parties were lost in moment of reflection. So Vash stood there, smiling back at the girl as she stood there with her pendulum in hand, undoubtebly reacting in some way to the dunpeal's presence.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Re: The Return...(Open)Are you all right? Where have you been? Why did you just vanish like that? Don't you know how worried I was?
None of the many thoughts she could've had, could've vocalized would surface in that nearly-cinematic silence; even if she could Amber would opt not to say anything. There was nothing better than hearing his voice right then, and more rare enough he was smiling. He had to be all right, she thought to herself.
She was the first to move, the first to descend a pair of steps and walk towards him. What if this was just a dream? A silent and starry night, a close friend suddenly returning after vanishing. It was possible she could've fallen asleep on the roof watching the night sky and here was this ephemeral kind of dream. While the nightmares were terrible and robbed her sleep, dreams could be just as cruel.
The first thing Amber did-odd, was it just her or was Vash taller than she remembered? Anyways, the first thing she did poked his arm, almost expecting for him to dissapate or worse, for her to wake up. And just as she had hoped, nothing happened!
"Good," she said with a smile.
And that's when she immediately latched on and huggled him; not quite a snuggle, but not exactly a normal hug of hers either.
Re: The Return...(Open)
Amber slowly moved towards him after that long pause and Vash was almost apprehensive. His body slightly moved back as the girl poked him to make sure he wasn't some illusion. Then, the hug. Normally he would have shuddered, rolled his eyes or made some other uncomfortable geasture, but tonight was different. He had come back to see his friends he so longed to reuinte with and a hug from Amber was like the beginning of what would be a good stay at Manga High.
"Good indeed." he said with a small laugh.
Yes, laugh! The darkest of the dark had broken into a laugh. What was next? White clothes? Maybe not, but he was definately happy to see her. After he regained his balance from the smal jerk back her hug made he quickly shouldered his large duffle bag and wrapped one arm around the girl, hugging her back gently. So out of character, yet it seemed so right for the hunter. If anyone could have seen it, they would have agreed.
"It is good to see you again. How have you been? You've changed so little since I last saw you, it's hard to believe I was even gone!" Vash quickly noted, grabbing her by both shoulders to size her up and seeming more than a bit embarassed.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? Re: The Return...(Open)
What a surprise that Vash laughed! Not that it wasn't pleasing to hear, it was more of a pleasent surprise to hear from her normally dark and quiet friend. The hug he returned was even more welcoming; the past few weeks had been an absolute nightmare for Amber and his hug seemed to make those thoughts, worries and pains simply melt away. Yakoutio returned and now Vash had too; how happy Yakun would be! And V too once she found out!
But where had he been? Why did he vanish?
Those questions nagged her, but she knew better. Things naturally answered themselves when it came to her and Vash.
"It is good to see you again. How have you been? You've changed so little since I last saw you, it's hard to believe I was even gone!"
"And you got much taller I see."
She tilted her head in that cute manner, though she had skipped the question for certain reasons (and he didn't need to be worried just coming back). Normally, she wouldn't have asked Vash something right away as they tend to come up on their own. This time however...
"Vash, where were you?" She said gently, and naturally her hand brushing against his cheek. "I was worried something happened to you...and I missed you."
Re: The Return...(Open)
Vash's expression changed drastically when Amber mentioned his absense. It hadn't been the most plesent experience he had ever had. Memories started to flood back into the hunter's head as his eyes glazed over. He wanted to tell her but now was certainly not the time. This was a time for rejoycing, not mourning. So, the dunpeal simply snapped out of his thoughts and looked back at the girl with a warm smile.
"I was needed back home." Vash answered, trying to keep it as simple as possible. He was a terrible liar.
"In due time, you will know the truth." he thought afterwards, completeing his sentence.
"But that is not important! What is important is that I am safe and so are you." he said, hopefully turning to a better subject.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? Re: The Return...(Open)
Yes, he was a terrible liar. Normally it would've been the opposite way, Amber thought to herself with some amusement. She didn't let it surface on her face, the look in Vash's eyes was enough for her to know not to press on with the subject. It may have not lasted long at all, but she was able to pick up on it.
She would let it go for his sake. Besides, he was back, there was no need for a somber occasion now. He was alive, he was in good spirits and that's what mattered most to her.
"I've...had a couple of problems but they've been resolved. Overall I've been all right."
Now it was her turn to be the terrible liar, but at least she willing to admit how she was as of late without her smile faultering. Remembering those memories however would be just as painful for her as whatever had crossed his mind just before was for him. Vash would know it from past experience.
All in due time then. Amber latched on to Vash's arm, though she would have to accomodate once he would stand up. One thing noticeable: on her left shoulder was a cross shaped scar. It had been there before maybe but it was obvious that it just healed over recently. Apart from that, Amber was much more cheerful than she had been in the past few weeks:
"Yakoutio vanished too, but he came back a little while ago...ah, but he didn't know he was gone. He's also been behaving pretty well. V's doing okay, we have chats over tea more often now; she'll be happy to know you're all right. Oh and she and Kobita are a couple kind-of. There's a lot of new students on campus too..."
The winged girl hesitated on something, contemplating on whether or not she should speak about that.

Re: The Return...(Open)
Once Amber had given him the equally horrible lie, Vash raised an eyebrow at it. She was obviously hiding something but he didn't care to press the subject. He had done the exact same thing to her, so what was the point in questioning it? Information would come in due time, no matter how devistating it was.
She then quickly clasped his arm while she continued to speak. Vash shook his arm slightly, as always. He wasn't sure if he'd ever get used to it. The dunpeal then sighed softly to himself as she spoke, shaking his head just a little as he lost himself in the moment. His attention was then forced back to the topic at hand and the look he had on his face quickly changed to a slightly less exasperated one.
"It is good to hear everyone is doing fine." he said.
He then noticed the abrupt halt in the conversation. A reflective look came upon Amber's face faster than Merciah could run. It was puzzling and the dunpeal raised an eyebrow to the situation. Why had she stopped so suddenly?
"Is something the matter?" Vash asked, not exactly sure if he should be pressing the matter.

Re: The Return...(Open)
Something either in the pit of her stomach or the back of her mind (felt like both now) told her to be careful of what exactly she says to him. One of the last few things that had happened before he had vanished was in the forest; if that's what he does to people stalking her...
"Ah, let's just put it this way. Some of the newer male students are...very forward."
Vague and yet it implied enough for him to come to his own conclusions. It was the details that she wanted to avoid right now. All she wanted was to really enjoy her friend's return. And so she quickly changed the subject! She didn't seem to realize her latching on to his arm gave him some discomfort; besides she was already too comfortable.
"Oh, and classes started up recently too. The first day was pretty uneventful. A lot of people will be happy to see you back. A bunch of us should all go and just do something fun for celebration!"
Re: The Return...(Open)
Vash couldn't help but react to Amber's comment about the new students. The look of utter confusion was priceless as he tried to figure out what exactly she ment by it. The wording was vague; a little too vague for Vash's comfort. Now he wanted to know the extent of this "very forward" comment. Just as opened his mouth to question it, though, she switched topics and Vash was forced into silence.
Another bomb shell was to follow: classes! A demon by any other name would not be slain so easily. Vash had no clue what learning would be like in a school system, even if it was a private school. He had been taught by Vlad most of his life and the rest of it was a serise of traumatic adventures. He couldn't believe he had missed the first day and he now felt slightly guilty about it. If only he had arrived a few days sooner.
Then, the comforting thought of seeing his friends again came around again as the topic of question. Finally, the smile returned to his face as the prospect of seeing Yakoutio, Genevieve and even Karrody popped back into his head. Though, this Kobita fellow she had mentioned earlier. What exactly would he be like? Genevieve never seemed to be the one to open up to most people. The only reason he ever thought of her as a friend was that they seemed to have very similar personalities. He thought for a moment before he made his own comments and asked questions.
"It will be nice to see them again, indeed. Though this Kobita you spoke of, what is he like? I do not believe I have ever met him before. At least, not formally."
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? Re: The Return...(Open)
Amber tried her best not to succumb to laughter at Vash's reaction. So she may have not been so clear after all. Maybe it was for the best, besides the topic will come up again, she was sure of it. It was one of those things that seems to happen anyways, and next time she would have to answer him; lying was not her strong point.
"Kobita's such a nice kid, real cheerful. He used to be short, but he left suddenly...back home I think. When he came back a little taller." Amber indicated his height (maybe exaggerating a little) his height change. Kobita would probably give her that glare if he had seen her gestures.
"It was recently that he and V got together, I'm really happy for her. They compliment each other; she's so quiet and he's cheery. I'm sure you'll get to meet him pretty soon."
She didn't use the term "cold", V had told her in their recent ritual of tea that there were some who reffered to her in that manner. Besides, Amber never thought of V as a cold person.
"Oh, I saw Karrody a few days ago too. He seems all right, just appears as he pleases, but I think he was always like that."
Re: The Return...(Open)
Vash gave another little smirk at the mention of Karrody. He always appeared as he pleased. It was their nature, after all. The unseen was their affinity; shadows, invisibility or simply tricking the mind to not consiously be aware of them. A predatory skill that distinctly seperated them from humans. Sometimes it was a gift, though other times, such as now, it was a hinderance. The need to keep hidden was a hard urge to supress but Vash seemed to manage better than Karrody. He knew the boy would appear at some point if he wanted to converse with the hunter. If not, then so be it.
"I would only assume Genevieve would be, how do Americans put it, "driven up the wall"(?) by this boy" he commented. "Then again, humans do peculiar things from time to time..."
Yes, the ever hard hitting destinction that he and Amber were not like the others here. It was a comfort she most likely was devoid of during his absense. Though meta-humans were common at this school, not everyone had a mingling of races. Vampires, angel, demons, lycanthropes; they were far and few between at Manga High. Karrody was the only other one he knew that posessed such a trait. Maybe there were more now but would it have been the same? A small ping ached in his chest as he dwelled on this. He had left without warning yet never apologized for it at all. There were so many things left unanswered and too many things she only shared with him.
"I am sorry for leaving you here without warning Amber." he finally said, after a long pause for thought.
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? Re: The Return...(Open)
"That's a good saying for it, but oddly enough I'm not sure that it works that way between those two. Who knows...humans really are strange sometimes."
Amber said nothing to the apology at first and instead rested her head on his arm, and loosening her latch on his arm. It was comforting that this wasn't all a dream, but a part of her feared that this feeling she had was too good to be real.
He didn't have to apologize for leaving suddenly, whatever happened may have needed to happen. All that she hoped for on those many nights stargazing on the rooftop or practicing her movements in the forest was that he would return safe and unharmed. She had not been completely lonesome, making new, trustworthy friends was a slow process with her; but still she would admit missing one of those select few people who understood her.
"I was really worried." She said in a soft voice. "But as long as you're all right, then all is right with the world, ne?"
Thank goodness that a sense of normalcy was returning...
Re: The Return...(Open)
"Mmm..." was the only thing he said, nodding in confirmation as he stared up at the sky.
Everything would be alright but he wasn't so sure about the here and now. So many things had happened when he left he had mixed emotions about it. The thought of making Amber worry made the hunter feel queezy. It was a strange feeling to have. Dare he even think it was human? It could have been but no one would know for sure. All he knew was that he had returned safely, as Amber said, and that was all that mattered.
His head then came out of the clouds, looking at the girl with that same smile he had been wearing the entire conversation. With a gentle tug and a quick readjustment of his duffle bag, he began to walk towards the school. The cool wind brushed past the two once more as they went, giving a refreshing feeling. The winds of change were in the air, so to speak.
"Well, I suppose it would only be polite to see if anyone has moved into my room since I left." Vash commented, looking back at Amber once more before turning his head back to watching where he was going.

Re: The Return...(Open)
"It should still be unoccupied." Amber said, letting him start off towards the dorms. She had no desire to go back to her room right now, preferring to stargaze again and losing herself in her own thoughts.
She could remember a time ago where Yakoutio and Vash shared a room...and how horribly messy it was. She remembered the particular creepy Christmas where Yakun nearly destroyed the room in one of his psychotic episodes; and it had pretty much remained that way, though the school may have managed to fix much of the destruction in both of their absence.
Amber could not remember when she actually made the movement, but before she knew it, she had made the effort to dash after him and hug him from behind. Maybe lucky for him it was a brief hug compared to her earlier one and then she released him.
“Do what you need to do, I’m going back to the roof top. I’ll see you later, ne?”
With a smile she would walk the other direction towards the same building she had appeared from. The night was young and of course for one who could not sleep it was the perfect night to sit and gaze at the stars. There would be time to talk more about pleasent and unpleasent issues.
Re: The Return...(Open)
Vash gave a nod to the girl before they went their seperate ways. He needed to at least get his dorm room assigned to him and move in before he could do anything else. Where else would he sleep during the day? Besides, there would be plenty oft ime to catch up with Amber. Now that he was back he would be able to see her almost anytime he wanted.
With that thought in mind, Vash happily made his way into the school. So much to do and so little time. He needed to make sure he got himself settled down quickly so he could see all his friends. Winds of change indeed...
