The Three Fold Cord The Three Fold Cord March 23,06 Eccles 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Psalms 138:8 The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever--do not abandon the works of your hands. Read: Isaiah 19:1-25 with emphasis on 23,24, and 25 ISA 19:23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. ISA 19:24 In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, ISA 19:25 whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.” A Threefold Cord, tied together by relationship-a hammered out inheritance Ecc 4:12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Threefold-to bend something over onto itself, so that one part covers another (consisting of so many parts or facets-having more than two, the part of the placenta that attaches the birth sac to the mother for nourishment and blood. Can also be a pen for livestock, especially sheep ) Blessed-having Gods favor and protection over it, a beneficial thing for which one should be grateful, having the support or sanction of all involved. Cord-often used as a balance(often referred to as the silver cord of life, can be used in the measurement of something, or as a fulcrum in weighing out something ) Egypt-Gods People (one’s relatives, or employees, or supporters, a mass of citizens that populate a certain ethnic group) also indicative of a type of bondage! Assyria-The work of Gods Hands (activity involved in an effort to achieve a result, wrought/beaten out, or shaped by hammering, fashioned) Israel-Gods Inheritance (a thing that is inherited, or the action of inheriting.) Third-constituting the number out of a sequence or of three equal parts into which something may be divided. Party-a social gathering of invited guests, or an organized group which take part in an activity. Purpose-the reason for which something is done or exists, a resolve or determination, one’s objective. Impression: There is purpose in the makeup of this threefold cord, there are elements that cause friction and pressure but add to the strength of the cord as a whole. Within this threefold cord, you have, Egypt; often spoken of as Israel’s iron furnace of affliction, which delivered in Joseph’s day, but later on kept Israel in bondage. Israel then, has to be delivered from it’s deliverer. That is the first strand. The second strand is Assyria, who held Israel in captivity, so harsh that Israel looked then to it’s former task master, Egypt. Judah The Kingdom ceased to exist as the people were assimilated into Babylon. The third strand of this cord, Israel, the chosen people of The Lord, a rebellious Nation completed this three fold cord of The Lords Design. Purpose: The providence of The Lord! to establish a thing! by force if necessary. Friction and continuous pressure are the tools often used, to hammer out the beauty of a thing! Unless The Lord builds it, it will not stand! |

This really spoke to me right now sis. Especially in reference to family relationships that have been broken for fome time, whether perceived or not. The Lord just in the last two days has brought these relationships back together... the three chord ... strong.. it was never really broken.. strained, but not severed.
Thanks for sharing this. I feel like this is more to the healing that is occuring in these precious relationships I have held dear for years.
