Three PM, Lazarus Time
V, excused from class, sits in study hall. She has a notebook open, and a pen in one hand. Study hall is a room inside the library, enclosed in glass; she can see out, and people can see in. There's no noise from the outside which gets in (except for the usual murmur that isn't quite audio...).
Study hall is empty, except for three other people: a girl with green hair, who glanced once at V, and then looked back at her magazine, Mona Lisa smile on her and large, large glasses; a boy with red hair, who can make chains from fire, and make a person think they were burning up with a fever, impair their judgment; a boy with no hair, trouble-maker, beefy, likes to fight. The boys are sitting together, playing cards.
V gazes a the clock, and if one didn't know any better, one might just think that she was blanking out.
