Time-Turner: A Marauder Era RPG
Welcome to 1976. The Wizarding World is in a state of turmoil, and the Dark Lord's reign of terror is spreading. He is steadily gathering followers, the most loyal of which are the Death Eaters. They, like Voldemort, are eager for power. The torture and killing of Muggles is increasingly being reported in the Daily Prophet, and the witches and wizards of England are becoming ever more wary of strangers, acquaintances, friends... even their own families. The use of the Imperius Curse has resulted in atrocities being committed by innocent people who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and there are rumours of attacks by giants...
Protection is available in the form of the Ministry's Aurors, but people are still frightened. Hogwarts, run by the Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, is one of the few wholly safe places in the Wizarding World. It opens for yet another year this September, ready to welcome a host of new students despite the ominous threat of war. Old students are also returning to the castle, including James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin - the Marauders - who are about to enter their sixth year. Little do the infamous school troublemakers know there is a future traitor among them.
Also returning to Hogwarts and entering their sixth year are Lily Evans, the Muggleborn redhead whose talent and promise have already caught Professor Slughorn's eye, and Severus Snape, a tortured soul with a penchant for the Dark Arts. Let's not forget the Black sisters, the Lestrange brothers and Lucius Malfoy, all of whom are destined for great yet terrible things. Already they are showing signs of becoming powerful dark wizards, and are demonstrating their allegiance to He Who Must Not Be Named.
Is Hogwarts really as safe as everybody would like to believe? Lord Voldemort's spies are everywhere, even among the students and staff, and anything can happen in the unguarded areas of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. The new term is about to begin, and with them the Years of Terror.
