It's now been over 9 months since the last time I've had the opportunity to log on and play EQ, and looking ahead, it will be at least as long again before I'll have those basic necessities like a computer or high speed internet available...

Anyway, I've decided to finally let Lithe Carver die. I've been dreading this--I left him last time I played with only 1/4 blue to 50--It's hard to be forced to resign at a point like that, but I just can't pay for a game I cant play. (
As I bid farewell to anyone who comes across this, I'd like to say good luck to all of you in your gameplay and your lives, and thank you to all the safehouse admins, mods, and volunteers who have kept this particular community running. Your efforts made visiting here both a joy and a privilege.
That makes me think about when I first got eq 3 years ago and I was using a 28.8 modem. I dont know how I could survive now without this (semi-)trusty cable modem. I know how it is to have to quit, i'll probably be on hiatus myself until the end of the summer. But maybe, you'll make your way back to the world of norrath someday.

heh, way to blow your situation way out of proportion. It takes like 20 hours /played to get to level 50, relax

Probably old thread but gotta say:
Not to mention they don't actively delete characters from their servers.
People can be gone a year not paying and come back using same password.
